Wow bro, as a fellow quisqueno from the Grande Manzana 🍎 🍏 🍎 you out did yourself, visuals music 🎶 information, beautiful views, bro million percent class. Keep it going. 💯 Dios te Bendiga mi Hermano 🇩🇴 🇩🇴
@@nothing_burger I still call it that and the Triborough Bridge. It’s hard to adjust to RFK bridge when you spend a whole lifetime calling it something else
Bro, I usually don't comment on videos, but your content is legit! From growing up in NYQ and, like you and spending a lot of time in the Heights, I never knew how historical it is. All the places you mentioned, me and my cousins ran up and down and hung out. We never took the time to realize the historical significance.
Thank you for the great feedback. I also did a Harlem video right after the Heights and my family lived on 155 st. Right across their Apartment is Alexander Hamiltons mansion which has always been a museum. I’ve seen this mansion since I was 8 years old and here in 2023 is when I finally stepped inside. Sometimes living in the area we never really explore it until we leave.
The George Washington Bridge is truly stunning but often gets overlooked because of the other iconic bridges in the city (Brooklyn Bridge probably being the most popular).
Nice video. I’m 54 years old. Born and raised in the heights. Lived in 175th st between Audubon and Amsterdam Aves. Thanks for the memories. Keep up the amazing work bro…
Same! My kindergarten teacher was Mrs. Goldstein Don't remember first Second was Mrs. Davis Third was Mrs. Kahn Then transferred to Incarnation for 4th to 8th
Thank you for the support. I can add it as an addendum to my notes on the videos description. I was in the Columbia University Medical campus (CUIMC) which the main building is the one seen in my drone shot. The main Columbia Campus is the one in Morningside Height from my Harlem video.
Dude! This was awesome 👏🏽 great visuals, informative and just made me feel so proud of my old neighborhood❤ Do you need an intern? Umm I’m not a youngin anymore but hey I can help out! I love history and hospitality 😊 let me know! I’m Marie nice to meet ya!
Jose, i have great admiration for your skills and work. I have dreams of being able to show the history, beauty and offering of the united states. Any advice on getting started.
Hi Kyle, thank you for the kind words. I always tell people to look at their own backyard. The city and town you live in is full of history. My first couple of videos were of my hometown area which after researching had a big impact on industrial America. And you would be surprised how powerful a tool your phone can be. I filmed several video segments (Smithsonian Museums, Upper Manhattan) with just my phone. Hope this helps
So what year did the Dominicans start coming to Washington heights? 1940s ? Gracias Manito por el Video. Appreciate your videos 🔥 Brother keep up the good work 🙏🏼💙👍🏼 You know Dominicans are the first Hispanics in America , 1613 on the East Coast in Manhattan his name was Juan Rodriguez and on the West Coast was the Mexicans in 1848. After they lost their land to the US and forcely becoming US citizens of course
This is the video and Washington Heights was one of the most beautiful neighborhood. I was in 1970 and the people of Origen germany and others before them and I am sure the originals were British, Dutch. The buildings who still I hope so beautifully looks like European . The first Spanish speaking were Cuban and create a vibrant community business and low criminaty. Then the Cuban left the Dominicans came and I never be there. It is sad how the train station is full of graffiti used to be so classy.

Well done! My daughter is new to the Heights, and I wanted to learn more about her area. Loved the history!
thank you, there's so much more to the area to discover.
I grew up in the Heights. It was even more diverse than it is now..... Great video.....

Beautiful bridge.

The Red Lighthouse. I played there as a kid 60 years ago. High Bridge Park where I learned to ride a bike in 1960.
Great production value 💯
Thank you, appreciate the feedbacl
Great video! I liked the red lighthouse, Sylvan Terrace and more. Thanks for the captions.

Nice, right up the street from Incarnation.
I used to love eating pastellitos and quipes from that corner bodega
I went to PS 173 near Washington avenue
Same!
My kindergarten teacher was Mrs. Goldstein
Don't remember first
Second was Mrs. Davis
Third was Mrs. Kahn
Then transferred to Incarnation for 4th to 8th
Thanks, I really enjoyed it. I've been in that area but you showed me things. I never knew about. I recently subscribed and like what you do!
Thank you Kathleen I really appreciate the positive feedback
Brother great report. But just to clarify. Columbia university is not in the heights.

I live by Bennett park❤
Me too. I just moved there 2 weeks ago. Nice very quiet area. Hate the rats though.

Native Americans were definitely in Washington Heights before The Dutch and The British.
imo Columbia University is not in Washington Heights its in Morning side. Columbia Pres hospital is in Washington Heights
Thanks for the feedback Terrell. The branch of the University behind me is the Pres. Hospital and a minor error in my part.
Columbia University is not located in Washington Heights.
