    The biggest problem with this movie is. Why would a High School play have a fully functional gallows in a stage play? Like why does it have to have to actually work? I imagine in real life it would just be some wooden stage designed to look like a gallows and the "hanging" would just be represented by a sound effect and flash of light.

    • @RobertSzasz
      @RobertSzasz 6 лет назад +18

      @@michaelkeha the knot has little to do with it. The energy that does the damage is generated by how far the person drops, and how much they weigh. Unless there is enough energy to seriously damage/destroy the spinal cord, death is caused by many minutes of asphyxiation. Various countries developed tables of weight vs drop distance required to ensure a fast death but not so far as to pop the person's head off.

    • @michaelkeha

Something like that, might be why they are recording. They tried it again a year later, but in the senior prank, the door that would always be stuck open like in this movie to our band room was broken completely off after they tried to move a car inside the band room. Police got called and everyone was pissed.

      @@yaldabaoth2 that's fair, it just seems like found footage should be easier than any other form of film. Keep all the passion in film making, just with a very low budget. Although that's also not an excuse, just look at The Blair Witch Project, not the best acting but still believable.

      Some people are just not very good at their job. The script for this movie is garbage. No actor could have saved it, I wouldn't blame them. There was no reason to shoot this as a found footage movie. That was just an excuse for being trashy. And that's why it has that reputation of "even the least experienced director" can do this. In a sense, yes, they can do that but that doesn't mean it's good. But name some great found footage movies, please. Most of them are shit because bad directors think anyone could it. To make a good film, you need a good director. Found footage or not.

    They still needed to have the Dad involved in the current. They did that, it fixes a lot of this.
    The Dad is the last, taking the noose. Camera dude dies. Blonde dies. Leaving Female Lead, Son and Dad.
    Dad offers himself, since it's him he's after. Spirit says okay. Dad goes to the Noose. Spirit kills his kid in front of him anyways... because Vengeful Spirit. Dad hangs, Girlfriend gets her show finished, Spirit gets his complete Revenge, Lead did her diabolical job.

      He's against doing this Play, but it's what the Senior Class voted on (strings pulled by Female Lead).
      The Dad is there that night, because he's caught wind of what the 3 Kids are planning on doing and is there to confront him about it. (Maybe tipped off by the Female Lead.)
      That's it, guys and gals! I think we just made this a much better movie. Still not good, but better!

    i like the concept of a haunted play similar to the King in Yellow and the SCP the hanged kings tragedy. Its too bad this movie has so many faults, that could easily be fixed. I wish we could have seen what this movie was suppose to be or the original concept. Some ideas i have are changing the reason for the curse, since other comments detail
    how hanging is really done in real plays, and the reason for Charlie’s ghost haunting the school since he was killed from an accident.
    Like maybe the kid who called in sick lied, and knew that the prop would malfunction. Or Charlie was being bullied for being a theatre kid and the bullies causes the malfunction, so he haunts the school and gets pissed when they try destroying the play???
    Do something like the King in Yellow and every time the play was performed an accident or tragedy always happend, but this time it gets even worse????? i dont know

    I don’t understand why the ghost wants revenge but I think I understand the revenge he did. He killed Reese because his dad has to live with the pain of knowing that his son is dead.

    • @phillipsmith4473
      @phillipsmith4473 4 года назад +6

      Probably out of selfishness, Reese's dad would've died, not Charlie.
      But then again, what fault does his dad has? blame the school for using a real gallows for the play.

  • @AnimeKatieKitty
    @AnimeKatieKitty 6 лет назад +6

    It would have been better if Reese's dad to have some hated towards Charlie for stealing the girl he loves, rigged the prop to break, than act like his sick. Then Charlie's girlfriend figures out that the prop was tampered with and tells the cops, but their think that she's only saying that cause she's heart broken and wanted to blame Charlie's death on someone.

    favorite found footage movie is a tie between the troll hunter [norwegin movie about college kids following what they believe ot be a poacher only to discover a lot more] and the tunnels [news station film crew go into the tunnels under sydney I think it is from wwII and do a segment only to come across something from aboriginal lore.]

    The theater being completely dark kinda bugs me (5:21) because I remember in HS we always had a ghost light, a light on stage that always remained lit. It was meant to keep people from falling when finding the light controls. I realize not every stage would have one but it could have been cool to have a ghost light and it go out when they enter or something.

    It's more cruel to kill someone's child, than them. IE...better revenge.

    • @JuanSolo9
      @JuanSolo9 6 лет назад +23

      But it wasn't even Reese's dad's fault for what happened. Charlie is a pretty stupid ghost.
