Kasta, thanks for consistently having an amazing attitude on just gaming in general, and narrating/commentary for those that try to multitask. Easily sets you apart from other channels IMO.
Ico is the only game of Fumito Ueda that I haven't actually been able to play. Shadow of the Colossus and The Last Guardian were both incredible. Thanks for sharing this, especially now when Ueda announced that he's working on a new project! I've always been curious about Ico and it was fun getting to see you play it! :)
Oh, I’m so excited. Shadow of the Colossus is one of my all time favorite games. That game, Ico, and the Last Guardian have such a unique atmosphere, and style of storytelling. You’re in for treat.
It's hard to overstate how influential this game was to the history of gaming. There's an old TechTV review, would be good to watch. I remember when it came out, it inspired many kids to go into game design.
Tips: If you plan on playing The Last Guardian, buy the physical version and don't do the update (which locked the game to 30fps on PS4), the game will run at 60fps on PS5.
This is a magical game Maggie, I'm glad that you played it and enjoyed it not only because you deserved to experienced it, but because it's likely that I will never play it again, and through you and your passion I felt like I relived a bit of what happened to me back in the day. I'm sure you'll love the other two games but keep the tissues at hand.
i just finished Shadow of the Colossus (2018) yesterday and was my first time playing the game, and got super interested in the lore of the game. Now I am here :) appreciate the long vid, I will now have something to watch during my downtime for the next few days
Whoa can’t believe you’re playing team ico games. You playing the last guardian is going to be extremely powerful. One of the most emotionally impactful games I’ve ever played. Especially as an animal lover
Oh my god, this game. Saw your reaction to the Awards a few hours ago and was hoping you would give it a try. Its one of those that keep hanging out in your head forever, a masterclass of design and atmosphere. Thx you!
When I first played this years ago, it was one of my favorite experiences of all time, I still have my original PS2 copy as well as the remastered version. It's such a pleasure to relive this game through someone who has never played this before. I feel I'll be saying that many times with your channel kasta 😂. Time to watch this, and I look forward to many other amazing games in the future like ummm Okami. 😉
PLEASE! I'M BEGGING YOU! DO NOT SKIP THE LAST GUARDIAN! For whatever reasons, there will be many online that say it's awful, but that couldn't be further from the truth. If you love ICO, The Last Guardian is a must play! All three of Ueda-san's games are masterpieces that put their contemporaries to shame.
I played through the LG and felt I fought the controls more then anything else. Still though the world was hard to leave. I played through it again and LOVED it even more. As the beast is like any pet, will rarely follow commands. The second play through was more magical then the first, for me at least.
@@rwhite9994 I believe this was completely intentional for TLG to reveal it's majesty the more you sit with it, and especially upon a revisit. I mean, I just like how these games control, but I know they're quite different to most modern games. To me it felt just the same as ICO and SotC, they have quirks to their mechanics/controls that I absolutely treasure, and the way they use those mechanics to tell stories only possible in the medium of video games. There are only a precious few games that linger in my heart all these years later, and none have ever matched Ueda-san's three masterpieces.
Somehow missed this game despite growing up with a PS2 but heard a lot about it after I wasn’t playing as many games. Quite enjoyed experiencing it along with you. I really love the choice of camera angle and control, it adds quite a lot to discovering the castle as you go through. It’s amazing the kind of new experiences video game environments can create.
After ICO, Shadow of the Collosus is a must follow-up playthrough. On a side-note, I just love the smell of a newly opened game’s box. Just thought I’d throw that out there. 🙃
Such a beautiful playthrough, Kasta! You captured the magic and emotion of Ico perfectly. Watching you solve puzzles and navigate that stunning world brought back so many memories.❤
Wow! What a simply incredible surprise! Especially after you played it off during the Game Awards as though you weren't too familiar with it when Ueda-san's new game was announced. 😅
Finally, it only means something. For such a long time I asked kasta on twitch streams, comments in RUclips, etc. To play shadow of the colossus, im sure, the next is going to be shadow of the colossus ❤
I'm diggin that you're playing through old classics, not just new modern games! You're so right about manuals, I remember reading the manual for Metal Gear Solid on PS1 on my way home, easily my favorite game ever!
I played it when it came out and here in Europe we got the better cover art than in the USA (same thing happened to Guardian Legend for the NES). Seems also that Fumito Ueda is back after watching Game Awards, yes!!
im excited for all ov her ( content ; ız so ampy // amppie // ampesque // keeps mi ever~_~living systems sustained 0"r"h"r" wutehvuh ) #VictoriousViews #gGsGodspeed
Holy cow indeed! This is a game very special to me and the second game by the same team, Shadow of the Colossus on PS2, is my favorite game of all time. I heard you mention during the Game Awards already having played Last Guardian (the third and latest game created by Fumito Ueda) and loved it, which is great because I loved that game too! Super excited for you to finally get to experience ICO and hopefully also Colossus in the future!! ❤
Me, as soon as I saw on IG that you played Ico (It's technically pronounced Ee-koh, by the way...I know, I know!) for your first 12 Games on RUclips: "SHUT THE FRONT FUCKING DOOR!"
i stumbled upon your channel when youtube recommended yet another final fantasy X video, and by now i have watched a couple of your other playthroughs and i really enjoy how you engage in the narrative, paying attention to detail and always theorizing of what might happen next. So i will be recommending a game named Enigma of Fear. I'll be eagerly awaiting if one day you play this story.
😭😭😭😭😭 I didnt remember she survived, I had somehow for the last decade the idea she died in that last part of the game, so if you dont stop to watch the after credits scene you will never know what happens 😭😭😭😭😭 Fumito Ueda evil genious
I dont know if you played shadow of colossus already, i will be excited anyway, but since it is 1for1 remake i strongly recommend that version for a new player. Anybody that recommend ps2 played it 20 years ago or on pc emulation. First playtrough of that game is special and must be played on best version that can somewhat replicate sense of awe and wonder that we felt when we played it back in 2005. Also Ico remastered is the same game just higher resolution and framerate, they really didnt change anything in both games remasters or remake. P.S. manual just spoiled you whole mistery of the game
Hey Kasta great you are playing Ico on a Saturday afternoon and as always I'm ready for it and any game that you play. You and Ginger take care and have a good Saturday evening thanks y'all.🧑🎄🐈💓:)
Another awesome playthrough Kastaclysm 🎉💯❤️🎮🕹️ I'm already excited for this!! 😁 Also I'm so glad you got to experience such a rich game. This is a great Saturday night 💯💯
I just started watching and manual spoiled entire game wow, please dont do manual of shadow of colossus if its like this, they are not complicated games the less you know the better experience
You probably would've preferred the Japanese manual then. Unlike global releases, it hardly tells you anything past the first 15 minutes of the game. But also, I didn't think the narrative information in the English manuals ruined the story? In some parts, it tells you more than the game ever talks about. It's the only place you can learn anything about Ico’s home community, for instance.
Ok, only about 1:50 into this, so you might work this out later, and I know you've already finished the game, so would only matter if you read & remember this if / when you ever replay. Or this might be useful for other people thinking of playing this, who may be put off by some of the fighting. But if you can get Yorda to the exit of an area, she'll kill all the shadow spirits when activating the statues to open up the way forward. Sometimes, it's best to run for the exit rather than trying to fight off every wave of enemies.
At 1:49:24, like 2 seconds earlier I said: I wonder if one can throw a bomb at them; long time I havent played this game and suddenly she said more or less the same thing :D
At 2:04:29, same thing again; regarding when she said the same thing I said about the bombs, I said 2 seconds earlier to push all of them and she said more or less the same thing :D :D
For the length of the video and me currently working through holiday peak at my job, I definitely will have to watch this playthrough in segments, but thank you in advance for playing this game. I had never made the transition from PS1 to PS2 but I do remember the display cases at stores. There wasn't a demo available for this that I recall but that trailer was unforgettable between the gameplay clips and the Mediterranean style music. Had I still been gaming at that time, I would have made this game one of my first for the PS2. If I ever started my own channel, maybe it still would be for a retro stream. Anyway, I look forward to seeing more of this in the future. Anna might like this game too if she hasn't already played. Thank you Kasta.
Oh man, me playing this game for the first time back in the day could figure out most puzzle within 5 min, u on the other hand must be a slow thinker or like u said "overthinker", jesus! No wonder your playthroughs takes so long :D
Hey Kastacylsma..... I enjoy you going back to some of the old school games... But just wanted to give a suggestion... If you haven't played parasite Eve... That's a must for you to play.... I think you would really enjoy it.... Have a nice day 😊
The architecture of the castle makes absolutely no sense other than as a puzzle filled obstacle course. If you actually lived there, going from your bedroom to the kitchen to make some toast would involve going through the sewers and the attic and then tightrope walking and making a leap of faith into an invisible chimney.
I'm diggin that you're playing through old classics, not just new modern games! You're so right about manuals, I remember reading the manual for Metal Gear Solid on PS1 on my way home, easily my favorite game ever!
The team that made ICO, Shadow of the Colossus, and The Last Guardian is great. All three of these games are gems! I'm glad you started with this one.

Oh, I’m so excited. Shadow of the Colossus is one of my all time favorite games. That game, Ico, and the Last Guardian have such a unique atmosphere, and style of storytelling. You’re in for treat.
This makes for a cozy listen. Like to an audiobook adventure or an old school radio play.
It's hard to overstate how influential this game was to the history of gaming. There's an old TechTV review, would be good to watch. I remember when it came out, it inspired many kids to go into game design.
Amazing playthrough of an ICOnic game
Tips: If you plan on playing The Last Guardian, buy the physical version and don't do the update (which locked the game to 30fps on PS4), the game will run at 60fps on PS5.

What a delight! Ico is one of those special games that I think every one should play at least once. Thanks for sharing :)
This coming after your game awards reaction is WILD! Lets gooo
i just finished Shadow of the Colossus (2018) yesterday and was my first time playing the game, and got super interested in the lore of the game. Now I am here :) appreciate the long vid, I will now have something to watch during my downtime for the next few days

Last streamer I saw play the last guardian rage quit from it lol
Best of the three for her imo.

I didn't see anybody say it in the comments but if you play it again now everything Yorda and the Queen said will be in english

Keeping these 12 games a secret has been a challenge and that didn’t make it easier 😅 I hope you enjoy!
Kasta super excited at game awards...then...Kasta says "Im not excited because I never touch theses games at all". lol
Finally, it only means something. For such a long time I asked kasta on twitch streams, comments in RUclips, etc. To play shadow of the colossus, im sure, the next is going to be shadow of the colossus ❤
I remember staying up late playing this game, such amazing memories
Watching you play these classic games in the original format on the ps2 is such a privilege ❤
I'm diggin that you're playing through old classics, not just new modern games!
You're so right about manuals, I remember reading the manual for Metal Gear Solid on PS1 on my way home, easily my favorite game ever!
This game doesn't hold your hand, but ICO will.
I played it when it came out and here in Europe we got the better cover art than in the USA (same thing happened to Guardian Legend for the NES). Seems also that Fumito Ueda is back after watching Game Awards, yes!!
Another fantasticly amazing playthrough Kastaclysm ❤❤😁😁.
What a surprise! So glad you got to experience such a rich game
Hell yes! you're going to love Wanda to Kyozō (Shadow of the Colossus) too! It might be my favourite game ever
Big fan of yours and this game. Perfect combo, will watch this on my TV. Thumbs up, and always subbed.
I'm so excited for this one!
im excited for all ov her ( content ; ız so ampy // amppie // ampesque // keeps mi ever~_~living systems sustained 0"r"h"r" wutehvuh )

Oh gosh I can't wait to see you play Shadow of the Colossus. But I hope you enjoy Ico and Last Guardian!!
Shining Sword & Watermelon Ending.

I haven't played The Last Guardian yet. Seeing how much I enjoyed Ico, I'd love to in the future!
Ah my mistake, I remembered wrong! But that's great because it means you'll actually get to play all three games in release order!👌
Me, as soon as I saw on IG that you played Ico (It's technically pronounced Ee-koh, by the way...I know, I know!) for your first 12 Games on RUclips: "SHUT THE FRONT FUCKING DOOR!"
Ps. Ah yes, the cover art can be seen in the window above "Ico 2001 BROWSE GAME"
Time to saddle up to see what will happen here
Already excited for this!! 😁
Stoked to watch this! The pronunciation is "eco", like the E sound in the Japanese numbers ichi and ni.
Woooah! This is gonna be good! 🤩🤩

Ico means in japanese "To walk" and it is pronounced as when u say ee - ee(I)co
At 3:36:14, That was funny, the box just vanished into thin air than just dropping down entirely :D

Ico let's go🔥🔥👀
Did you hear about the guy who made this? He switched to electric cars. Said it was Ico friendly 😭
🙃
Happy Saturday Kasta! Hope you have a great weekend 🩷💟 and keep up the good work, Kasta!
Hey Kasta great you are playing Ico on a Saturday afternoon and as always I'm ready for it and any game that you play. You and Ginger

Just wanted to say Hello and brighten your day a bit!👋 😊 ☺️ 😌 🙂
Is video game historian an actual job yet? cause I feel like Kas just is that 😄
😆

🔥
At 1:21:51, GWA = Girls With Attitude :D
I would strongly recommend playing the remake of SOTC vs the original.
Great video. You should play Stray next.
Are you going to play Shadow of the Colossus on PS2, unlike other streamers? I'm sure you'll love it as much as we do❤️
Hey Kastacylsma..... I enjoy you going back to some of the old school games... But just wanted to give a suggestion... If you haven't played parasite Eve... That's a must for you to play.... I think you would really enjoy it.... Have a nice day 😊
Thats one ugly NA box art tho.
Black myth wukong is another game you should consider.
I think you would enjoy playing Pandora's Tower. One of the three legendary Wii games we campaigned to get released.
You could enjoy Galerians for PS1. Its classy stuff. With amazing story and excellent vibe. Isnt it guys?
Please 🙏 🙏 play mgs3🎉

Wait, that's the exact same route I take to make some toast where I live. What do you mean the layout makes no sense 👀???
You should play Infinity Nikki on PS5❤❤😊
One question why you are too much emotional. Just Like the Walking dead and the Last of US?
I'm diggin that you're playing through old classics, not just new modern games!
You're so right about manuals, I remember reading the manual for Metal Gear Solid on PS1 on my way home, easily my favorite game ever!
