    Useful. Im going to modify this for orcs. Because flowers and vines arent really our thing lol. Unless the catwife decides she wants flowers and vines. Then I shall be a laughing stock. Happy catwife happy life.

    Oh, you just made this jungle-dwelling huntress very happy. I had the idea a few weeks before I saw this video but had no clue how to actually make it work. This really does help. I just hope I can get the netting done before Swordcraft Quest. ^_^

      So much blushing! I am glad that you find it useful and I am looking forward to seeing what you come up with. They have them at Aussie disposals, but it costs a bit more than ordering them on aliexpress or something like that.

    Military Surplus stores are great for tarps and stuff like that! :) Most stores are open to the public as well (I live in the US and in CA there are two military surplus stores I can buy from)

      That is awesome. I was born and raised in Cali so I know those feels. The range of surplus stores is epic compared to Australia. One thing I miss for sure!

    I'm thinking that faux fur rough stitched together over a small tent could also work as a convincing blend... this needs thinking about; thanks for the inspiration.

      Ohhh interesting if you do it up make sure to tag me so I can see it!

      it could add a lot of weight though. if your tent is a neutral color you can paint the tent using spray acrylics

      Liam Thompson the material I found is fairly light. Plus the tent I own is a wee 2 person model made from memory wire; it will be able to handle the additional mass without a problem

    O.M.G. I LOVE THIS SO MUCH.
    That is so cute.
    I may try to find a way to tweak this to fit for my character. She is pretty dark and twisty though so not the type to have pretty flowers around her door. And unfortunately my tent is a 6 person one so its huge.
    I'm so glad I found your youtube channel. We follow each other on Instagram lol. But I'm quite new to LARP.

      That is awesome!
      If you can get some of that creepy mesh like they sell around Halloween that might suit a bit more plus you might be able to get it cheap and in big quantities. Pick a theme and have fun with it. There are some cool black roses that will look pretty and a bit creepy as well.
      You have to tag me on Instagram with your tent when it is all done! Cannot wait to see it, and if you have anything else I can help with just let me know!

    For my main larp I need either a historical tent or a tent that is fully covered to look historical (but then you can't let it open)(so far I have lived with a friend but we want to bring 2 new people so we will need a second tent. )
    Since I am a traveling, arabic inspired character my plan is to somehow make a black Bedouin tent. So I can't even buy it off the rack.
    It would be really cool to get black goat hair since I am quite good at weaving, and while it is a lot of work I think it would be really cool. If I can't I'll just buy black cotton sheets or dye cotton black.
    We'll see.
    I am actually really excited to do that, to have that tent for all future larp events.
    But on the other hand it's obviously a huge efford.

    Just wondering, since a lot of modern tents require tension in the fly to remain waterproof, how did adding something like this go? Was this netting light enough that it didn't matter, or would you only recommend this for camping/quests in the warmer months?

    • @TamwiseTravels
      @TamwiseTravels  7 лет назад +1

      I have been in it during a light rain and it was fine, but I feel it would be pretty good because the cover is SUPER light! If you try it do let me know :D

      Oh nice. Well if you ever make it to Japan, you can LARP with my group. We are based in Nagoya.

    • @TamwiseTravels

      That would be epic. Hook me up with the details, we might be in Japan in May.

    And if you're brave enough you can try and make your own in-character tent. Here is one on a UK LARP crafting guide, tutorials.abbott.me.uk/props/medieval-pavillion

    • @art0000t
      @art0000t 6 лет назад

      For the poles you can buy hexagon gazebos to give the tent more of a medieval shape.

      I really should try it! Sounds like fun :)
