Well, the 4th is the father, so the fourth from the 4th - i.e. the 7th, considering the 4th as number 1 - would be the father's father. The 10th is the mother, so the tenth from the 4th - i.e. the 1st House, would be the father's mother. Similarly, the 3rd is the House of brothers and sisters, so the 3rd from the 5th is the father's brothers and sisters, or the native's aunts and uncles.
Hello John, welcomed the idea to practice and made the suggested spread.. two questions arised I don't really like to work with reversals, but did try it this time and of course most of the spread was reversals - any suggestions what this means in general before I interpret the cards? The other question was where should I get the general info for the houses? Dear Talas: One way is to look at an upright card is think - do this, or act this way. If reversed, it's something like: don't do this, or don't act this way. So your 1st House reversed 4of Coins can be explore and find or try what is new instead of sticking with what you are already familiar with. For Houses, go to cornerstone-astrology.com and down the left side, click the third bottom list item - astrology encyclopedia (by Nicholas de Vore). Click on H and scroll down to House. There is a lot of information, and he gives detailed meanings for all the houses in turn such as House, first... and shows what it rules in a natal chart, in an organization, in a political chart and a mundane one, etc.
