Ugh thank you! My vland for my evo x has the same type of bulb mount compare to the other type that just clips in. I haven’t driven my car at night because I couldn’t figure it out to install my headlights lol. Thank you!
Hey, I bought some VLAND Headlights directly from the VLAND website, which also included a pair of D2S LED bulbs. Approximately a month ago, I installed these headlights but I've encountered some issues since then, primarily involving blown fuses. My FRS just recently emitted a slight smoke inside, accompanied by a burning smell, indicating a possible wire issue. Upon inspecting the interior fuse box, I found no signs of burning or melting. While my taillights are operational, my headlights, daytime running lights, blinkers, and hazards are not functioning. Additionally, the blue high beam symbol remains illuminated constantly, even with the key is removed. Despite attempting to toggle the headlights off and back to "auto," and vice versa, the issue persists, suggesting a potential problem with the blinker switch/arm or the wiring leading up to it. I’m thinking it might have to do with the current output of the LEDs. It seems they draw a lot of power from my battery so I’m wondering if the D2H HIDs with the ballasts are the better option. I really love the look of these headlights, and it pains me to witness my car malfunction unexpectedly due to this modification. I've disconnected the battery to prevent further damage or burning. However, I'm at a loss regarding the next steps to take. P.S. I made an install video. Check my page if you’re interested to see how I installed these. Thanks
The projector takes care of the low/high beam function. The turn signal is built into the headlight elsewhere, same with the Drl. Both are not changeable without opening the headlights, and should not be considered serviceable.
You have to do this with a brz? I know that that the frs and gt86 sometimes have to get some wiring done but for the brz its just plug n play. Only asking because I mistakingly bought d2s instead of d2h.
Simple and informative information! Thank you! I have been contemplating between either a set of D2H or D2S bulbs for my VLANDS. And benefits one has that the other doesn't have? Which one would you choose?
D2h = Simple install. D2S = Compatiblity with oem grade Osram/Philips bulbs which can last 6+ years at 20% brighter the whole time vs aftermarket which tend to dim after 3ish. First kit: d2h NHK d2h vs d2s = same output if installed correctly.
@@GTARetrofits this is great information, thank you! I will definitely consider this when making my choice. In regards to canbus, relay, etc. Would I require anything specifically for the FR-S application, or am I okay to just plug and play with a set of bulbs and ballast?
Only early production model vlands can be baked *easily*. If it doesn't come open at 225 for 15, it means it's "permasealed". it will take multiple rounds at 240f for 20 minutes. I now cut all permasealed vlands open. Otherwise, I order them in bulk from factory and they make me them in butyl.
@@GTARetrofits Oh wow. That is good to know. I thought I was doing something wrong. Thanks for the information. I guess I'll have someone with more expertise do it. Appreciate the reply.
Unfortunately the hard plastic cap on the back is not a sold product (I've asked). I have found that these rubber caps (100mm), do fit around the back hold though. www.gtaretrofits.com/shop/hid/accessories/rubber-housing-caps/
There is no specific adapter cable from a D2S bulb to D2H. You would need to have a ballast/igniter combo that uses an AMP style igniter (as used in this video), which can then either use the D2S connectors (white/blue cables), or plug a D2H bulb in to it (Not seen in this video)
I can't say for certain, but I would assume so. At the very least I would think the d2h setup would work for pretty much all of them. I've heard rumours that some actually use and H7 projector which would explain why people tried to put an H7 bulb into this projector, but I can't confirm that.
@@johnnyeggleston1281 email info@gtaretrofits.com a picture of the rear (with the cap open) so I can see the projector, and I'll let you know if this kit is right for you.
I literally just made an instructional video on d2h bulbs 2 hours ago. I'll be posting it on RUclips soon. They're easier for sure, but not as versatile.

Great video, is there only one bulb in the VLAND headlights that’s responsible for all operations including the turn signal? Thank you!

Awesome video. Where do you find that extension part that you added to the cover ?

This has to be done on every vland headlight regardless of the car. How you connect the headlight to the car is what varies.

hi, have you been using it for 3 years? Did the Xenon Lens break? d2s sits with that nail broken?
Sold hundreds, no returns or warranties yet.

Yes, the ballast was not pictured in this video. But it is included in the kit.

Perhaps. It's not a bad idea, but after doing 100 of these, you get pretty good.
