    Good video. I like that the new format lets you give a relaxed, detailed descrption of anchoring and the interchange with the vessel control center helping to keep everybody out of trouble.

    Thank you Captain for a great explanation of the scene from the view of the wheelhouse! I am always very aware of the privileged nature of standing in the company of the greats out there in the harbor and on the working boats. You and your company deserve all the accolade and thanks for seeing a value in this presentation - whether educational for mariners in their career development, or just as lessons in daily good practice near commercial vessels for the recreational crews. Brilliant handling from Capt' Luke and crew!
    Nice Sunset Shot!! Keep it up - not for us, but because you can look at this work and be proud of the skills and talent it took! BRAVO ZULU Skipper! No Bozo Zone. My reason for supporting the channel and being a huge fan! 🤡
    Q: are there flanking rudders used in this operation? just curious, BZ and CUOTO ~__/)__*

      Thank you for watching and supporting the channels all these years! We (and most ocean going tugs) don't have flanking rudders. But many river or tow boats do. CUOTO

    There a US girl doing video on living in UK and the way we do things and say.
    When I was a Kid all vacuum cleaners were Hoovers even if they were Electrolux. Now Hoover had a wonderful factory on the Great West Road built in the ArtDeco design. They ceased working there and one week end the factory disappeared, the story goes was the developer was frightened there would be embargo put on it as it was such a nice building.
    As Luke was backing off the Ship to the right caught my eye, I think it was called Louzaine or Loveaine and it was being scrapped. I just wonder if there's a story there.

    Interesting video. A couple of things that caught my eye. First was the great difference in draught between a loaded barge and a light barge. Next was the tug next to you was operating it's plant, but didn't detect any movement. And lastly was that all the doors and vents on the barge were wide open, not as a problem, but it caught my eye as in why are all these opened?

    • @TimBatSea
      @TimBatSea  5 часов назад

      Thank you for watching! Yes, after coming into one line, it is SOP to leave an engine in gear to hold position by holding pressure on the line. Many of the hatches you see open are weather doors and will be closed before going to sea. CUOTO

    Surprised there are not Cameras fore and aft for the Captain. Maybe the UNION won’t allow it?

    • @TimBatSea
      @TimBatSea  7 часов назад +3

      Thank you again Frank. Many people think that would help. And maybe some day it would. But with today's technology asking an operator to look at a fore and aft display why navigating might be a bit much. (Remember, they don't even want a camera in the wheelhouse anymore) CUOTO
