In Hades in GOW III, we found a letter containing what is presumably an entreaty for Alrik(Barbarian King) to be released from his captivity for the chance to get his revenge on Kratos. I'll bet Hades only let him go after Zeus betrayed Kratos, and the Spartan's death was now in the interest of Olympus.

Goddamnit the music is so good always! God of War has earned it's place as an unforgettable series. I miss GoW 2 so much. Was my first introduction to this series. Been hooked since. 2:28 when those Timpani Drums I think they are called come in you know shit gets real.
I also like their rivalry, its a spin-off of the historical struggle of the Germanic Tribes against the oppressive Romans. I know Kratos is Greek, not Roman, but the analogy still stands I think.
This ost also plays in GOW3 in the labyrinth when we have to face that many of enemies and watch after the spikes in the floor. Always a good surprise to listen to nostalgic osts in different games
