Im actually not a fan of quick-release. aside from lug width, different watches are better with specific spring bars versus others. Quick-release styles deprive you of that flexibility. It’s more of gimmicky thing that became more common with Apple watch owners.
I agree, certain watches do work better with specific spring bars. But personally I do like the convenience of quick release without destroying lugs lol.

Thanks for the reviews. I just received my Borealis isofrane style strap and it took almost 4 weeks to arrive. It was only $42 and is a good strap for the price, but Isofrane/Tropic (same company) is much more supple and has a better feel on the wrist. Though pricey, they are worth it. Take care.
Good review bud! Just a pointer...the second strap shown - the grey tropic strap is the OG tropic strap...all others you've shown is derived from the tropic company. All good in their own right no doubt.

In the search for a better value option, the eBay straps were recommended, so I just I ordered half a dozen in various colours yesterday. When I saw ‘eBay’ in the thumbnail to this video, I was curious to know what you’d say, but it appears they’re not at all bad and perhaps it’s hard to justify the premium on the more expensive options. This way I can buy multiples of the same strap for different watches and I can try out different colours without incurring too much expense. If I have a favourite pairing on a particular watch, I can always buy the equivalent coloured original tropic further up the road. Keep up the good work! C 🏴

Honestly, I'd have to go with Tropic. Quality is about the same so you won't be missing out with one or the other. But I love the color options, the size options and the smell of the tropic straps is amazing as crazy as that sounds lol the only thing I wish tropic would change or "upgrade" is quick release spring bars. That would make the straps perfect.

Great review! The best I've ever handled was definitely Joseph Bonnie's - better than the actual Tropic imo. Comes with rounded edges at the top. You should definitely check them out :)
@Eric Estrada from the photos they certainly seem to be the same. Same dimensions, same design, same markings on the inside, same price. Some people also claim Wolbrook to sell the same strap, just with a different buckle. I have no idea if they are the same or not, so I can't confirm nor deny.

Thank you so much! Glad you enjoyed the video. The fat boy spring bars are too thick and even tho you can squeeze them in there, they're a pain to take off the strap. I would use a 2mm spring bar with tips that are 1.1mm diameter to fit the Seiko case like the OEM spring bars.

facts. i always take them off and use shoulderless 2mm-2.5mm depending on the strap for my divers (which all of drilled lugs).

My £150 watch came with a really nice signed (strap and buckle) tropic strap. Soft, super flexible and dead comfy. Proper springbars too.

Tropic is the original from the 60's. The company bought the rights to the name and built them to original specs.. it is also real vulcanized rubber.
