This was entirely new to Americans at the time, wasn't it? I mean, travel in Vietnam, the food. Tony even pronounces the famous pho incorrectly. It was all still so new. I remember watching this with my wife, who was a huge fan of Food Network. She found Tony off-putting at first - too New York, too hipster, whatever - but she came around soon enough. I remember us agreeing, Vietnam looks amazing. It was still unknown to most of us.

After married more than half of the meat on my table was brought in with either my 16 gage or my husband's 12 guage...or the end of a rod and reel.
