I just love how when he finishes the song he sits back with a sheepish grin.......it just makes me smile every time.......Tim Minchin is one of few people in the world able to combine reason, humour and music......the ultimate triple threat.....and thats why we love him.
@@troystewart7730 well he hasn't been a comedian for 10 years so it seems like you're the one living in the past. He's an actor , singer, composer, lyricist and an activist but he's def retired from comedy
What I love about Tim Minchin is that he's a dork. He's cracking himself up and just enjoying sharing with the audience. He actually loves what he does rather than doing it for the money.
I gave you a thumbs up, Shanna, because I entirely agree with you. I also thought it was hilarious that you misspelled "intelligent." (I'm sure it was a typing error, not a spelling error, but it is still funny.)
@@willwhomisfree8280 first of all: ow that would hurt like hell - my sister has a foot tattoo Secondly: fewer people would see Tony then - means I get to introduce fewer people to the majesty that is Tim Minchin.
I love the little laugh at 3:17 He sounds so pleased with himself. And I like the end, "I'll give you.. my piano... One of my legs.... And my wife. *ding*" Tim Minchin is hilarious. I love all his songs. Oh, and I'm not Pigeonpete. I'm his daughter. :-p
One thing that creationists miss out on is the observation that that we are literally related to every other living thing on the planet. That's awesome and mind-blowing. By denying evolution, creations dismiss this and many other truely wonderful aspects of the world we live in. I often think that creationists deny the real beauty and scope of the very "creation" they claim to celebrate.
@Bojangles8021 I'm glad you took the time to write it out..... I was just about to go back and take notes myself. This guy never ceases to amaze me with his creativity. Truly a Classic Artist for our times.!!
Okay, I'm A Catholic, Not one of "those" catholics but still one. So when Tim talks around 3:35, I actually was thinking, "Well, that kinda blew my mind". Tim's a Genius, i wish i was this talented
@JAGuar18858 It was from his show 'So Rock', it's on CD and two DVDs - 'So Live' (Australian version), 'So F*cking Rock' (UK version), this is from the Aus one.
Ever heard about "ghoti"? It uses the "gh" from "enough", the "o" comes from "women", and the "ti" from "motion"... Ergo, though it's spelled "ghoti", it's pronounced "fish".
i'd call my fish Tony, but my name is Toni and people would think it wierd :/ like when i say hi to my friend in the year above me.. he says "hi Toni" and i say "iya Tony:)" and people are like "wtf, did you just talk to yourself?:|" .. so yeah. but i love tim, so much :) his songs are amazing and he's so child like, he's lovely.
I have an indented rib cage, so I am kind of one of those mutated freaks :P I like to think the benefit as people are able to get closer to my heart. Thought society thinks "WTF", I love that I am different.
@Diosukekun Organs do not just spring up, so there was no point where a mutation gave tony some feet without nerves. He already had fins which gradually became more foot like and they retained the nerves that the fin had. If you are asking about the times when the brain first evolved , it did so in organisms which were already functioning well before they had that brain. The brain evolved separately from the organs that it controls.
@TheNinjarocker4: How can it not be? It means that we, and all life on earth, is descended from the same ancestor billions of years ago. That such simple origins have spawned the vast complexity and diversity we observe today is an amazing thought. Just by the self-evident fact that when individals compete on passing down their variations, the better traits survive and adds up. This discovery, this scientific fact, shows us that reality is so much stranger and amazing than we could have imagined
ya im a fish but im a cold fish im just gonna pop out onto my towel for a bit warm up il bring you an ice cream YA DON'T BOTHER TONY lets austizize him (in background) no dont austrizize me lmfao best part in the whole thing :P
I think the right way to discuss this is by use of occum's razor. Is it more likely that a series of tiny changes, where only the useful ones that provided a species with an advantage survived, lead to mankind. Or that 1 entity that we can't comprehend not only existed before us but created us.
@Diosukekun The theory of evolution by natural selection posits that the random mutation giving rise to feet did not just happen in one generation but over many and also that this beneficial mutation was accompanied by vast numbers of bad mutations meaning that it defies no laws about probability.
@SCRulerShinoda --- "Detail" doesn't determine accuracy, though. Just because someone says "That ball is purple" instead of "That ball is violet" doesn't mean the ball isn't still purple.

I want to meet Tim SO bad. He is one of the single most amazing people I have ever known to exist. His brain is amazing, and he is so inteligent.

"You're a fish, Tony."
"Yeah well I'm a cold fish."
My favourite part is the way he grins and sits in a strange position after he hits the last key...it makes me smile. Tim Minchin master of whimsy.
I've a tattoo of a fish with feet on my arm. When ever anyone asks about it I introduce him as Tony, the first fish to have feet.
I have the darwin fish as a Christmas ornament --- and I introduce him as "Fucking Tony"
What came first, Tim Minchin (Chicken) or the Joke (egg)?
You should have had it tattooed on your foot
@@willwhomisfree8280 first of all: ow that would hurt like hell - my sister has a foot tattoo
Secondly: fewer people would see Tony then - means I get to introduce fewer people to the majesty that is Tim Minchin.
You are brilliant, mate! :-)
RUclips needs a ‘love’ button! 😂
'to explain the exsistence of the feet in the absence of the knowledge of the exsistence of tony' - tony is legendary (Y)
how does he remember this shit !
he says so much in the song,
it actually amazing.
I am in SPASMS of silent laughter from the roundup with Tony. That is freaking brilliant!
"Fuck me! Those are gunna come in handy!" I almost died laughing.
i never get tired of watching this, every time i play it it's like sunshine in my ears.
it would blow his little fishy mind!!!!
love timxxx
!!!!!
"Fuck me.... those are gonna come in handy! Or at least they will, once I've evolved hands......"
underrated
This is, in my opinion, easily the best part of Tim's performance in that show.
I just wanna pop out for a bit, maybe lie on my towel
TIM MINCHIN IS A GENIUS.
This piece is just brilliant, perfect! really perfect... in every way....a genious, Tim , you are one of a kind!
I FINALLY figured out where i heard "if you open your mind too much your brain will fall out" before, it's a Terry Pratchett quote =D
I love the little laugh at 3:17 He sounds so pleased with himself.
And I like the end, "I'll give you.. my piano... One of my legs.... And my wife. *ding*"
