The doors, the chandeliers, the wood floors, the big living room windows, the fireplace ,,,aaaahhh. So good. While the rug is great, I love the dining area without. It feels spacious, and fresh without a rug. Maybe when Fall rolls around again and you want to feel cozy? Thanks for sharing the space you love with us.
I've been reading a lot of "no rug" comments but I really like it! I think it brings your personality into the room and also it gives a welcoming/warm feeling to it :) I would keep it! The floor can already be seen through de coffee table and everywhere else. Xx
I love having a rug to soften the space and reduce the echo. When you have a lot of hard surfaces the sound bounces off the hard surfaces. The only softness is in the couch. I would opt for a different rug, the strong design of this rug seems to be too strong and not in keeping with the rest of the room. So yes to a rug, just a different one! Love your space and love the chairs! You have made a beautiful home for yourself!
The rug is lovely but I think the floor is just so incredible on its own. Loved the mood of this and the music. It made me smile and miss my London flat (I am on a work olacement in Bristol for 6 month)
I am watching this again in 2024 and the entry music is what I chose for my Dad’s funeral. He used to play it on the piano. He was 92 when he died but had the presence of eternal youth ❤
I rarely leave comments on RUclips but your flat is absoutely gorgeous. I love that it feels collected, unique, and tells your story - many of the apartment/house tours on RUclips, while nice, feel and look...generic and a bit twee....the same colour palettes (white, grey and 'blush' pink), the same cushions and furniture feom the same big box stores, the same artwork from Society6...everything all from the same - it gets boring. Kudos to you for styling your home in a way reflective of you. Re the rug, while your floors are GORGEOUS I do think the dining area needs a rug to ground that space...however, I don't think that rug is quite right. While lovely, it just doesn't seem to go (the shape or the style). I think a cowhide would be perfect - the organic shape would work much better and not be as jarring as a rectangular rug. There are interesting cowhides (as opposed to something all brown) with different shades and markings...I think one would look perfect in your flat...and if it's a concern, there are faux hides available. My two cents :)

Definitely keep the rug!!! Makes the space feel a lot more cozy and warm. I love the doors (to the bedroom and bathroom) in your flat! They're one of my favorite existing pieces of character and then I love your dining table and chairs!
I haven’t even made it halfway through the video and I just have to say WOW. Not only is you apartment beautiful and eclectic but it is so reflective of your personality and has so much charm. The rug creates a more cozy atmosphere but personally I love it without, the space seems more open, and you really notice the gorgeous floorboards!

You did such an amazing job on this tour. THIS is how it's done. I love your flat so much! I do love the rug, but those floors are to die for. I would agree with you; put it down whenever you want to switch up the look for a bit, and remove it when you just want to see more of the floor. Also, you've gotta re-purchase some plants! That place is too beautiful to have all those dead plants up in there! LOL I really love how the majesty palm looks in that corner.
I love the dining table with no rug underneath. I feel like it flows through to the coffee table and chairs much more effortlessly. So nice to see the (pretty much) end result from when you first moved in! Have loved watching your flat transform x

I would go for 2 rugs, one under the coffee table (a simple color without any pattern) and the one you have under the dining table. I would also suggest some kind of storage in your bedroom to keep your clothes in and be able to see the beautiful room. Loved your new space and I was really excited to see you building it from scratch.

I do like the rug, however I'm not sure if it suits how you've styled the rest of your flat. Maybe something with some cleaner lines? I feel it would flow nicely with the strong lines in your chairs and the dining table. Thank you so much for sharing your home, it's beautiful!

Your mantel is absolutely exquisite and the tall vase really sets it off beautifully. The chandeliers in every room; très chic. I'd skip the rug entirely, it doesn't really elevate the space and the floor is so lovely on it's own. The natural light streaming through the bay window is heavenly. What a great place to call home. The flat is just BEAUTIFULLY decorated! You have lovely taste. I would say ‘no’ to the rug. I was also thinking that it took over and the aztec does not seem to fit with the classic feel of the rest of the room. x

OMG that toilet! I LOVE it! Your house is beautiful but that might be my favorite part lol. I had a victorian doll house back in the day and it had a toy toilet like this and I never knew why it looked like that. Now I see the real thing!!! lol
love your apartment Lizzy! You're for real my inspiration for saving up and attempting to move out on my own hopefully by the end of this year. Not only does it seem like such a joy to be able to decorate your space exactly how you want it, but you also seem to be thriving career-wise in this space. Im sure having a place you love this much, and excuse me if I'm being rude but I'm sure is also super expensive, really motivates you to work harder because everything is lying on your shoulders, so no excuses allowed!

I love the rug Lizzy,Persian vibes are very fashionable though,it does have that sort of vibe but maybe go even more persian,flying carpet style ! it will compliment the very modern chairs,you have decorated it beautifully xxx
Love the Navajo rug. I think it grounds the space and is a nice juxtaposition of light and dark-the light floors and the dark metal of the coffee table and two metal arm chairs. The rug also adds texture, warmth and coziness for the colder months. You can remove it during the warmer months when you want things cool and airy. Well, that’s my two cents worth. Love your home. Wish you could talk about the wood and mirrored doors. What a beautiful, original feature!

Ugh love every little detail about your flat. Loved this video and I love Dean's snarky comments they always make me laugh! Maybe angle the rug to have it flow into the space? But no rug works so well because the floor is gorgeous enough on its own.

I prefer the look without a rug, but if I was sitting there all day, I'd like something under my feet. What about a beige/off-white Moroccan rug? One with simple geometric designs.

Do you know what I love? The music. Your music selection is always well chosen for videos. I watch things that have really hyper-energetic crappy American EDM music that just seems so out of place for a lot of what it's put over. This music perfectly suits the tone of the video.

Hi Lizzie, I love what you've done with your flat. I remember watching your first flat tour and couldn't wait to see what the finished article would look like. I really love how everything has a story and you've chosen some beautiful investment pieces. I have to say Im not a fan of the rug as its quite busy - I feel it takes away from the parisian, minimalist feel that you've captured beautifully within your space. But thats just my opinion so go with whatever you feel is right xxx

Love the floors, the rug not so much. Suggestion: get a bed that is higher and has real storage underneath, so that you can have your bedroom back from the six foot clothes monster! So proud of your independence. This is what all of us aged feminist dreamed of for the next generation.
Great idea for raising the bed for storage - and slide out drawers for easy access :)

Love the rug! It makes the room more cozy and will help absorb sound for your videos. I could see a rug under your coffee table. Maybe something less patterned and quieter. Maybe pull out some of the pink in your pillows. Love the apartment!

The warm brick red coloured rug warms and softens the room against the cool white shades. Very nice dramatic contrast! Perhaps a more simple pattern to keep in balance with the clean mod iron work furniture lines?
