You are amazing for reviewing all of these clean products!
Awesome video! Love the idea of the bootcamp mini-course and for telling me about Teri's new product box!
It's amazing! You're welcome :)
I had a bad break out last week while traveling. I've always struggled with my skin, but this flare up was worse than ever.
I'm vegan and I take care of myself, but I finally am looking into some of the products I use. Never realized how bad most makeup is for you.
I ordered Alima Pure a few days ago, so I'm really looking forward to using that. It's definitely a process replacing the makeup you have loved for so long.
I also suffer from a chronic illness. paying attention to clean ingredients in our skin care and make up is so important. Great video!
Love that goldish highlight product!! 💛
I got so excited when I saw the pop up of your video on my cell.......and as always it was an awesome video!!! Thanks!
Oh so sweet! I'm glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching :)
Wow I love, love, love this video!! So informative and thanks so much for listing the products I will have to do some shopping! I already use most of these products and agree with your opinion of them. Thanks so much for your honest opinion!
Thank you! I'm so glad you enjoyed :) Thanks for watching!
So glad I came upon ur channel. I'm switching over to green beauty.. love ur recommendations:)
So helpful! Thank you for all the work you put into sharing your finds!!
Thank YOU!
Great video as always Laura, I'm getting Gressa foundation very soon, I can't wait to try it! xx
YAY! You'll love it!
Thanks for sharing this video, it really helps when your transitioning to green beauty products! P.S. for great eyebrows, I use Ecobrow and I really, really like it. It's so smooth and looks more natural. I use to use pencils but always felt like they looked too "drawn on" But overall great job on your video! Really liked it!
I also really like EcoBrow! Glad you enjoyed :)
I'm so glad I found your channel! I started to switch my makeup to more organic, but I was getting discouraged because I couldn't find any brands. Love this video! Also, How do you press your lose eye shadows?? I've got a few that I would like to press. Thank You!
Oxana has several videos on it. Silk Naturals has a kit you can buy and basically just follow the directions.
Loved this! Will have to refer to this video the next time i purchase any cosmetics! :) thanks Laura! x
Yay! I'm glad you liked it :) You know where to find me if you have any questions about anything that isn't in the video, too :)
What face products are you wearing in this video, specifically foundation, bronze/blush and highlight? Your skins looks super healthy!
Ahhhhh I'm so bad at keeping track of this. I know I use the Gressa Foundation and I'm pretty sure I used Honest Beauty Cream Foundation in Truly Exciting and Teri Miyahira Bronzer. Not sure which highlight, but I'm guessing W3LL People bio brightener. It's the grease foundation that makes my skin look good, I swear!
Thanks! This video was really helpful! I plan on ordering some samples of some of these from The Detox market. I love your hair as well!
I didn't know you did videos! Loved watching girl! Xo
These are great picks! I have several of them and just bought the Honest Beauty brow filler and love it! I just wondered if you are no longer liking the Juice Beauty foundation, since it didn't make the cut?? Thanks for the list and I really enjoyed watching!!
I am! I just have WAY too many foundations that I like and had to make the cut off some where. I should probably just do a top foundations video at some point since I can't stop myself from trying them all. The brow filler is great! I'm glad you like it, too!
I think I'll try the honest beauty shadow trios soon...once I have enough time to do my eye shadow again...maybe in the summer when I don't have to get my kids to school on time. 😄
I really love physicians formula organic wear mascaras. I've tried a few of theirs, but right now I'm using the green tube. The product works great, especially for the price. I fee like their mascaras don't get enough credit. I do wish they would change their packaging though...the flat-ish handle takes a while to get used to.
Yeah! I actually purchased the organic wear mascara (the green and pink tube) right after I filmed this and am loving it! It's soooooo good for the price. The shadow trios are amazing! Thanks for watching :)
Great video, thank you for sharing your favorites! Have you tried Juice Beauty cosmetics? I love their new serum foundation. It gives really good coverage while still looking natural.
Yes! I just haven't tried much of their new stuff yet, but I do really like the foundation as well!
Hi Laura! Some of my faves are in there of course. Aren't Axiology lip sticks to die for? :) Love the idea of the clean beauty boot camp!
oh mannnnnnnnnnn they are SO good! I love them!!!! Thanks so much :)
Awesome suggestions and vid Laura! :) ❤
Thank you!
Great video! I just found your channel a few weeks ago and I love it☺️
What are you thoughts on Becca, Too Faced and cover fx (vegan products)??
Oh thank you! I guess it depends on the person and the standards that person wants to use with their makeup. Some of the products in those lines rate low toxicity, but many of them still have ingredients that I personally avoid.
Love your picks!! Great video!
Thank you! I'm so glad you liked it!
Super great video ...Thank you Laura 😉
Love this video! I am going to try the Honest Beauty eye shadows and brow pencil. Just wondering, could you share what you are wearing in the video? I love the look! Thanks!
Thank you! For the brow pencil? Rich Brunette. For the eyeshadows, I honestly don't remember which eyeshadows I used! So sorry! I really need to keep track of that better.
Sweet! Thank you :) also, just watched your snapchat and want to thank you for the info and send good vibes your way health-wise. May all be well! Xoxo
Thank you for all your helpful tips.
I'm glad you liked them :) Thanks for watching!
What is the name of that orange lip color from 100% Pure? I wish I would have had that when I did my Butterfly Makeup Tutorial video. I realized that I have hardly any vividly bright natural lip colors (a hazard of not wearing much in the way of lip color in my everyday life). That orange would have been the perfect shade I was needing!!
Thank you again for a jam-packed-full-of-goodness video!
yes, name please 😊
Hibiscus
Great video, love all of them!!! Have you heard about Honest Beauty being sued for using questionable ingredients ?
Thank you! Isn't it Honest Co. that's being sued? I could be wrong!
+Laura's Natural Life I stand corrected, you are 137% right, it is the Honest Co.
LOL! No worries at all :)
I'm a new sub and loving your suggestions, thanks :) Quick question about mascara. I only wear waterproof mascara because my eyes water quite easily which means I am a hot mess after a few hours. I'm guessing there are no 'natural' waterproof mascaras out there?
If there are, I don't know about them. So sorry!
Pacifica makes a waterproof one :)
Do you still recommend the Honest Beauty Cream Foundation? Love the video! 💕
Yes, for super full coverage! I feel like it's just too heavy for most people's tastes, but if you want super full coverage it's a amazing.
Antonym's Noir pencil is amazing - I want to try Honest Beauty's though too! :)
I just ordered last night! I did get the honest and it's good, but not like wow.
Ahh I was wondering about Honest - good to know. Yeah, I can't wait to hear your thoughts on Antonym's! I love a smudgy messy black eyeliner thought and this is so black and lasts pretty well on me!
That's what everyone says! I'm so excited to try it. I feel like it's gonna be amazing!
Super helpful video! In your opinion what is the best full coverage foundation?
I like honest beauty cream foundation, juice beauty serum foundation and kjear weis foundation. What's your skin type?
+Laura's Natural Life I have normal to dry skin but acne prone.
Check out the Juice Beauty Serum Foundation or the Honest Beauty Cream Foundation. I think those would be the two best. I've heard the Nu Evolution is great, but I haven't tried it yet. I just ordered samples, though!
Thank you! Started my journey.
These mascaras seem like some great options. How would you say they rate as far as running and smudging?
It depends on the mascara. I am going to be posting a big green beauty mascara round up soon!
I was wondering if you ever tried The all natural face brand face products ( blush or cream foundation) I didn't see anything about it in your blog or previous videos. I'm curious what your thoughts are on it?
I haven't! The only thing I've tried is an eyeshadow. Sorry!
I like the Surya Brasil skin items, hair masks and more, they just so happen to be vegan too....not everything I like is vegan but I do like some
What is your thought on FD&C colors (an ingredient in the Silk Naturals velvet matte lipsticks you recommended)? Over the last year or so, I have been switching over my skin/hair care and makeup to clean brands as I find something that works for me and isn't super expensive. I loved the range of colors from Silk Naturals and all the ingredients looked great except for the FD&C colors.
Maybe I just answered my own question. :) I found that there are several lipsticks without the dye, so I am guessing that is what you would recommend?
Yes, ma'am! I don't know why there are some with dyes, but many are dye free
i really wanna try the gressa foundation!
It's SO good!
Have you done a video on Honest Beauty, or what are some of their products that are great?
And I guess which ones didn't you like?
I haven't done a dedicated video, but the eyeshadows and the lip crayons and cream blushes are great.
Great choices thanks!
Thank you for watching!
I'm really surprised to see you recommend the Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue considering it contains Phenoxyethanol. Was that an oversight? Or have you had a change of heart about Phenoxyethanol?
Not an oversight, I just like to have options for people who are not as strict as I am with ingredients. It doesn't have to be all or nothing and giving off the impression that it does have to be all or nothing and completely inaccessible I think pushes newcommers to green beauty away. I think overall something that is paraben-free but has phenoxyethanol is still a better option than something with parabens, plus the rest of the other ingredients are pretty good.
Have you tried/what are your thoughts on the Burt's Bees BB Cream?
I didn't even know they had one. I just glances at the ingredients and I see fragrance which would be an automatic no for me.
I bought the 100% Pure lipstick in calendula and it looked more orange on me. I also didn't really like the smell of it. It didn't remind me of fruit at all..
Oh, yeah I think it looks fairly nude on me bc I have a very warm skin tone.
Hi Laura - what primers would you recommend (for normal to dry skin)? Thanks!
The only primer I've really enjoyed is the Hynt Beaty Skin Prep
I am in dire need of a green eye shadow primer! I quit using urban decay a couple months ago. But boy do I miss it. I've tried to make my own. Didn't work. Still creased and faded :( In addition I can't seem to find a green one to buy. Any recommendations? I'm all ears.
Check out Lily Lolo, Red Apple Lipstick and Erin's Faces :) I have yet to try either of those, but the Erin's Faces is thought to be very similar to too faced shadow insurance.
+Laura's Natural Life Thank you! I got Erin's Faces eye primer. Love it. I had never heard of them. It works really. And yet lets me blend different shades and washes off nicely. I'm going to tell them you recommended them to me.
Awesome! Thanks for the update.
Hi Laura! Could you explain something to me please? I am trying to switch to Natural non toxic products, but a lot of the products available in Holland have an ingredient called Citral in them. This is listed as a natural essential oil, so it sounds natural/safe, but on EWG this ingredient is scores a 7!
Im really confused! Even super clean products have Citral in them, is this a safe ingredient or no? I hope you can explain this :)
Hmmmmmmm honestly, I don't have an answer on this. My guess is that if it's synthetic and made in a lab it would score a 7, but if it naturally occurs in an oil then it would be ok. I could be wrong! Honestly, I would shoot an email over to Call Of The Vialed - a natural perfume company that I'll be talking about next week - she might be able to answer this better!
great video, just wished you had swatches and explain you skin type for new people like me.
Thank you! That's why I linked my lip swatch video :) What were you interested in for skin type...
If you're oily, normal....etc...
I mean specifically. What's your skin type that you're looking for products for?
+Laura's Natural Life I am oily looking for foundation, powder & concealer
I would check out for foundations: 100% Pure Liquid Foundation, Nu Evolution Liquid Foundation, Alima Pure Satin Matte Foundation if you like loose powder, and also maybe the Gressa Serum Foundation. It's an oil serum, but it dries pretty matte. Powders: again the Alima Pure Satin Matte, if you're looking for oil control the RMS Un Powder and W3LL People Realist Setting Powder, for color but pressed I like ZUZU Luxe. Concealers either of the ones I mentioned would be great.
benecos, eco Bella, and lotus. just wondering if you've heard or tried any of these?
Heard of, yes. I haven't tried many things from them though!
Laura's Natural Life ok thanks...I feel like I have so many questions for you, so little time lol! I really like the way you present information on green living. Will be inquiring of you in the future. :)
Hahah, no problem! I'm glad you're enjoying :)
What shade of the well people concealer do you use?
I find it so difficult that I have to order everything online, getting the right shade is such a gamble and especially since most products are not cheap at all (+shipping). I live in Holland and you cannot buy any natural beauty products in stores here :(
try the (online) shop reina organics, they are based in holland and they also offer samples! For example also w3ll people :)
I live in Germany and have ordered from them several times and had amazing experience :)
Thank you! That is so awesome :) I cannot believe I never heard of them before!
I use light in the WP Concealer. We don't have many stores in the US either, unless you live in a big city. Hopefully they will become more available!
Hey Laura! Have u tried any of the RMS Beauty products? I think u'd like 'em :D
I have! I love the living luminizer. Sadly, the uncoverup looks really really crepe-y on my skin. But that's all I've tried. Thanks for watching!
Were the product from Silk naturals that you were showing samples?
No, those are full size. But they last FOREVER.
I'm looking for a full coverage foundation that doesn't break me out or emphasize the texture and scarring in my skin. What would you suggest?
If your looking for a full coverage matte foundation then 100% purchase the Nu Evolution liquid foundation!
Hey! What's your skin type? And what type of finish do you want?
+Laura's Natural Life my skin is oily and dry at the same time. I will take any kind of finish if it doesn't break me out! I have hormonal acne, but my skin is very sensitive too. I can't look at coconut oil without breaking out. I had been using the Clinique acne solutions foundation until I realized how awful it is ingredient wise. I don't usually like powder foundations.
Ok hmmmm this might be a trial and error type of a thing. I would recommend ordering samples from Aurora Beauty, Citrine Beauty or Detox Market and trying quite a few. My favorites for full coverage are Juice Beauty Serum Foundation, Honest Beauty Cream Foundation and I just ordered samples from Nu Evolution, too! 100% Pure Liquid Foundation is great for oily skin, but I personally found it a bit drying.
do you have a list of websites that allow you to purchase samples? thanks.
Integrity Botanicals allows you to choose 3 when you purchase something. But samples for purchase I usually go through Aurora Beauty or Citrine Beauty - but Citrine you have to call to buy them.
Nice video ! 100percentpure tinted moisturizer makes me break out ! Is it normal ?
It doesn't break me out, but of course we're all different. Darn!
+Laura's Natural Life do you know what ingredients can give me imperfections ?
I don't! My guess would be that maybe it's either too heavy for you or maybe you're sensitive to a particular plant ingredient in there
Ordering foundation online is not my favorite. I want to transition to green beauty, but how do I find my correct shade for foundation? :-/
A lot of companies offer samples so you can try before you buy
Also if you have any kind of health food store near you, you can test out products (and Whole Foods will make up samples for you). Oh, and Ulta now carries Honest Beauty and Juice Beauty so you can shade test their foundations if you have an Ulta near you.
I will not lie to you, it is as easy as trying on in store. If you know your skin tone, you can look up the descriptions of the shades. I usually look for light to medium with warm undertones. I also look at swatches online, too! A lot of brands and retailers offer free samples or samples for purchase, too.
Yes! Whole Foods is really good about this!
What green skin care line do you recommend?
There isn't one particular line that I recommend. I use the Aleavia cleanser, Kypris antioxidant due and ko & humble passion fruit seed oil daily. For treatments I use Acure Scrub and the juice beauty peel
thanks a bunch. :)
Do you have any setting powders you would recommend?
Yes! I like the w3ll people bio brightener and Zuzu luxe pressed powder
Laura's Natural Life
Thank you so much!! I'm loving your videos, I'm slowly transitioning into green beauty and they've been helpful!
also great video btw! thanks :)
Thank you! I'm glad you liked it :)
I love lily lolo
Thoughts on Honest Beauty foundation?
She has a separate video talking about it.
Depends on which one. The cream is nice, but it is extremely full coverage. The oil free tinted moisturizer is great, very light coverage but has SPF, not a fan of the regular tinted moisturizer.
everything is way too expensive... why aren’t there any drug-store prices natural products
Seleste organic lipsticks canada are the best
The 100% pure tinted moisturizer is horrible, it might as well be called "orange tint moisturizer"
That's too bad that it didn't work for you. I've never had that issue on my skin tone.
