@Datmemeboi thank goodness we were not at Parkland but, unbelievably, one of our former choir kids was at Saugus High School last week. This gives us even more reason to sing grandson's song again and again. xoxThe West Los Angeles Children's Choir
Prince Havoc it hit me hard too. Reminds me of a story I heard: a shooting was happening at a school and a Kindergarten teacher told all of the kids in her class to hide in their cubbies, and they did. When the shooter came in and asked her where the kids were, she said they were in the gym (which no kids were in there in the entire school) and he left, but before he did he shot and killed the teacher. That teacher single-handedly saved over 20 children.
"they want to arm the teachers" "no thoughts no prayers can bring back whats no longer there" this hit deep, absolutely amazing, can't wait for the music video
@@samtheman6869 normally people that use sarcasm online give some way to tell it's sarcasm. It is hard to tell someone trying to use sarcasm from someone who is just brain dead due to the fact that it is impossible to hear voice tone from text. Honestly, it would be so much better if he didn't have to make *this* kind of songs, but I suppose that students protesting and this passive aggressive genre of songs is the only way anyone fights against gun violence these days, so I'm glad for such little treasures as is this song...
As a teenager whose school now trains us to be prepared for an eventual shooting (they put us in situations where we are timed and need to lock door, close lights, block door, etc.) I can say that I don’t want to learn how to survive a school shooting, I want the government to put their efforts in preventing them.
Why would they do that, that means less money put towards wars we start, or deaths to make us scared so we fall for their tricks and we become a socialist society.
I remember years ago while I was in elementary we'd have these drill that where we had to close the windows and lock the doors they said it was in case someone that wasn't supposed to be on the campus was on the campus and only now I realize how messed up that was
This was the first thing I listened to after my school was the most recent victim. A month ago I commented “shivers.” I’ve never related more now. This song blasted on our car speakers as we rushed to pick up my young sisters from another school. The older one (11) ran into my arms sobbing. When I woke up that morning to hear the news (I was out sick) the first thing I asked was “how many?” We got lucky here in Noblesville. Never again should a 14 year old have to ask how many of her friends are dead.
Madison Riley's Spam/Channel gosh that’s absolutely terrible. I hope your daughter wont suffer from ptsd or anything like that. Im very sorry for your losses
I love the message of this song. Note the chorus: "No thought, no prayers can bring back what's no longer there" Doing nothing is getting nothing done. Keep your thoughts and prayers because they're not helping. Stand up and fight for what's right in order to make a true difference.
I agree. Though, I interpreted it as the voices of the children that were killed. It may sound kinda dark but it sounds like they're condemning the people from the past who felt bad but didn't do anything to keep their deaths from happening.
Indeed .people never address the root of the problem so nothing gets accomplished it’s so sad .I’m so fucking sick of politicians exploiting these tragedies for their own selfish interests children are dying and all their care about is themselves
Yea, arm the teachers. If everyone has a gun, no one will pull a gun. Notice they always hit soft targets, or rather, the soft target receive the most casualties.
Linette Britton we’d have to practice lockdowns in elementary school. Turn of all the lights, shut the blinds, lock the doors, sit clustered in a corner and be silent. It’s only looking back that I realize how fucked up that is
Yeah, some of these comments that just trash the meaning and say “well gUnS aRe iMpOrTaNt!11,!!” And it breaks my heart because I am one of those Xs. I was thirteen, and I had four baby siblings in the same Pre-K to 12 school. The oldest sibling was eleven. It enrages me to see so may people just step on the meaning of this song without thinking.
this song literally broke me into tears my school was evacuated on tuesday because of a gunman threat. this songs brings me so much hope, there are adults out there that care and we arent alone. thank you for supporting us. ill do as much as i can to rpomote this song as much as humanly possible
Lots of people care about school shooting. They just disagree on how to stop them. You cant take peoples guns in a country like america. There are SO MANY guns and the right to bear arms is so deeply ingrained that an attempt to do so would cause more bloodshed than school shooting ever have. Anyway what we need is much more money devotes to school security. Tight gun laws or even banning private gun ownership wouldn't get rid of guns. Did banning drugs get rid of drugs? Schools just need to be safer.
@@heythere6405 No they're serious, nearly did in my school but the teachers didn't want them because my idiot schoolboard wanted them to have them without any training and flat refused til they gave up
I don’t live in America, I don’t even live in a place where guns can be carried freely, but this song is so important and speaks so much truth. The whole world needs to change.
Snippy zee Captain’s minion the fact that I'll be able to carry a gun on me when I move to texas is about half the reason I'm moving there. It is what makes America great
Just a comment from a friend from Brasil: We don't have acess to guns here, they've become illegal in 2003 (not because people wanted, because the governament fucked us), but guess what.. our murder rate by guns is 5 (FIVE!!) times bigger than in the U.S., and they only increased since then. Normal citizens can't get acess to weapons, but CRIMINALS GET THEM ANYWAY, and there's nothing that will stop them. "All nations where guns are banned have less crime and murder in general." - Yeah, right. Get your fucking facts right, and don't fucking lose your right to own a gun, because here we are trying hard to regain ours. Your problem aren't guns, and if you really think it is, please, change place with me, I'd love to live in U.S, have a gun and actually be able to AT LEAST protect myself from the monstruous number of daily murders and robbers. *I'm replying this everytime I see an anti-gun comment, because.. oh boy, it looks like people don't like to think*

@@zHeroGamer This is rather because of the fact that your government is unable to actually enforce this law. Most countries with more strict weapon laws also have less gun violence. going back here due to the recent shootings. i hope you all are safe -- im nowhere near the US but watching the news makes me so goddamn sad for the people living there.
Legit a suspected shooter at my high school earlier today in fact it had cops roaming the school all day. I kinda feel dejavu from the bomb threats last year
ploolpy doops Yeah, it’s rough seeing your own school’s little x pop up. I got PTSD from it, and loud noises send me into panic attacks. The struggle to face my PTSD isn’t going well. I hate living here. We’re all dying in our own schools and not a soul could care.
The sad truth this song is relevant almost every week in America. This year alone their was over 420 mass shootings. Averaging about 1.19 shootings a day.
.... Since when does the amount of words matter? The greatest statements have been made with the fewest words. Let's get a few examples up here. "With great power; comes great responsibility" "Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever." "Simple morality dictates that unless and until someone can prove the unborn human is not alive, we must give it the benefit of the doubt and assume it is (alive). And, thus, it should be entitled to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness" "An eye for an eye only ends up making the whole world blind." "Worthless people live only to eat and drink; people of worth eat and drink only to live." "From the deepest desires often come the deadliest hate." "A man can do what he wants, but not want what he wants." "Life without love is meaningless, but love without life is also meaningless." "Everything that ends can never be had again, and since everything ends everything is priceless."
We're all on here counting the number of mass shootings. This video was posted on March 23rd of 2018. Since then there have been 603 shootings. 334 of which were THIS year. Of course, some of them are less severe than others, but what does that matter? Grandson is constantly writing songs about our own country and what it is and what it's becoming. I still think this song is the most powerful, as it continues to apply to every. Single. Day.
He’s not even close to under rated look at his views! You gotta remember he hasn’t even released an EP or LP yet he’s only released 8 or so singles have faith my friend have faith!
Government is playing Golf and trying to buy greenland... well at least that's what the president is doing... oh and of course producing more guns that can kill many more people
lol Defensive? It was a joke. (When the comment was made there was high amounts of volcanic activity in Hawaii.) Then in the same comment I literally wished them and their loved ones safe....
I really can't describe the feelings I felt when I saw Grandson play this song live in 2019 and the name of my hometown scrolled by with names of other cities with school shootings. It's a really powerful song and important message.

Tracer Herself thank you and don’t worry. Only one boy was shot and we are family friends with his family. He is alive and well, going into his second year of college. But it was still not a good experience, especially when I had four little siblings there from ages eleven to five. That left some marks on the mind of thirteen year old me, like causing a death-triggered anxiety disorder, but I’m surviving and it gets better since then. It’s been two and a half years now, and I’m moving on. But I will never forgive this many Xs and how many children felt what I did that day.
I remember when this song was released after the parkland shooting. Four years ago when I was a freshman in highschool.. It's now been a full year since I graduated. Nothing changed. Nothing truly got accomplished. I refuse to ever have children if I have to worry about just sending them to school.
Safety is an illusion, you were never fully protected. Objectively, homicide rate in America is fairly low and it's higher in places with more anti-gun laws.

This song legit makes me cry. It genuinely hurts, I can distinctly remember my 4th grade teacher cried to us on the anniversary of Columbine because she lost her son in that shooting. I distinctly remember in 3rd grade my school went into lockdown because there was an armed man. Nothing bad happened, but I went home in tears. I remember my parents picked me and my brother up after his school locked down because there was an armed student on his campus. I remember distinctly when the Arapaho shooting happened. The same school my brother graduated from was shot up. I remember this probably the most vividly because I had 3 friends there. My mom called in for me to be picked up. She picked me up crying. My two friends were shot. One was killed, the other had internal bleeding but survived. My brothers friends little brother was also shot. I remember the school my cousin went to. Was shot. She was alive. These happen way to fucking often. I remember my friend came to me crying because his friend was shot and killed on Valentine’s Day. I remember my best friend calling me crying, when my school went on lockdown because he’s in another fucking country and couldn’t stand it if I was killed.
No one should ever have to experience this. This is completely awful for literally anyone and is not in any way ok or acceptable. I’m so sorry for your loss.

I've never heard of grandson until a little over a week ago. The first song I've ever heard was Blood//Water and I fell in love with it. It was deep, it had a meaning, and it was just my type of style. Every other song never failed to reach my expectations and I have truly feel in love with grandson. I've become to realized how underrated grandson is, and he deserves much more than the small fan base he is. Now this song? Is my favorite. I live in California and today was my first day of high school and I understand this song so much more than I use to. Do I think the rules are going to change soon? No. Having a gun is in our constitution, which means it will never be banned. However, rules should be stricter and we should follow out with these rules. My middle school is right next to my high school and last year I remember hearing that my current high school might go home early due to someone on the internet saying they were going to shoot up the school. Grandson never disappoints and i'm proud to be a grandson.
Same here, found him though blood/water and have been addicted to his other stuff. I wish you luck dealing with the horrors how that America is becoming. Times like this being down in NZ feels like a blessing.
"You don't know whose children are going to scream and burn...How many hearts will be broken...how many lives shattered...how much blood will spill until everybody does what they're *always* going to have to do from the very beginning, SIT DOWN, AND TALK!!!!!!"-The Doctor from Doctor Who, 2015.
- An excess of talk, rather that action, is the problem here. Do you know what the title of the song is even referring to? - Saying that a real life problem that is killing real people is just like your #fandom comes off unserious at best and insulting at worst
@@isnotmimi what I'm saying is that killing never solves anything. The Doctor believes so too as (presumably) Grandson does. That's why I put this comment up.

Did we hear the same song here? this song is a call to action and change, and i said HIS songs (SONGS) inspire me. damn people those days are bored and trying to be funny.

@@QuinnArgo Wow do you really expect untrained armed citizens to fight back against the US government if it ever becomes tyrannical? Does your justification for being pro gun include give insane people an easy option to murder teenagers just so you can fight for your idea of freedom?
@@xmm-cf5eg I think you're forgetting the fact that back then, guns were incredibly underdeveloped compared to now. back then, you could shoot maybe five times in, what, ten minutes? five minutes? now you can kill tens of people in seconds. also, if the government wants us dead, they'll make sure we're dead. a few rifles are never going to stand against tanks and other military-grade weaponry
As a teacher, the most heartbreaking thing during one of our trainings was when one of my students asked me ‘Miss L, what happens if you’re shot?’ And my answer had to be ‘I’ll be fine, you still do what ever you can to get out, hide, and protect yourself.’ My student broke down sobbing, which then led to others doing the same. The student missed the rest of the week of school. I spoke with their mother after reporting what happened once the student was able to be picked up. The mother told me my exact thought: what 14 year old kid should be expected to cope with the mental image of leaving their favorite teacher to die. The answer is the same for questions like: what kid should have to worry about losing their life at a place of learning? What student should panic that they forgot bring their bulletproof bag or board to school? The answer is NO student should ever have to think about these things. No teacher should have to worry about leaving their own family behind by going to work. No parent should worry that their hug and kiss at the bus might be the last. Vote people. Vote for change.
I'm a student. And every day I hope that every teachers throughout the states and their students are safe. Other students disrespect the crap out of their teachers but they don't realize that their lives are in your hands, especially when stuff like this happens. Every day when I'm at school I think about how I can protect others if something like this happens in our school, and it has been threatened before. One year a student was looking up guns in class and I saw him, the year before that another student made an entire hit list. I want change. I don't like seeing news about it I want change done. It's sad hearing about the stuff being made to protect instead of solve. Safe rooms in classrooms, new door locks, bulletproof backpacks. There's kids younger than me who fear of going to school because they think it's gonna get shot up. They shouldn't have to learn about that. They're kids. Im scared because I've had dreams about getting shot in school trying to protect my classmates and teachers. Im scared for my little sister who's still in middle school. I hope this school year goes well for you, your family and your school Miss L. Whichever school you're in I hope you all are safe this year.
@@HillsTyrning Same. I'm a student too. I live in a safer area, but I still find myself worrying about getting caught up in a school shooting. I understand how low the chances are, but I've experienced lockdowns before. Nothing too severe, but I've still been through them. I sometimes worry about my little sibling as well, who's only a few grades below me. I've even had nightmares about shootings as well. I'm wishing for a safe year for you and your fellow peers. I understand how scary the thought of these things happening can be. I actually started my first day of school on the day that Apalachee High School had gotten shot up. But maybe one day, hopefully someday soon, we'll no longer have to worry about these things, and we can finally go and learn without having to worry about these things happening.
I got chills! Besides the fact that I like the way this song sounds, the message is very powerful and I’m glad he’s using his platform to speak up about issues. All the people singing also gave me chills. I just imagine all the victims...
it’s so heartbreaking how i’ve become so desensitized to everything, just growing up in such a violent and hateful time.. from 9/11 to sandy hook to all the mass shootings and police brutality that occurs every day. i turn on the tv and it doesnt even affect me anymore. i mean, yes it breaks my heart to see all the victims and the hurt and pain that everyone is going through.. but im just, slowly accepting that no one in power cares about these people and their safety and we’re all just left to fend for ourselves..
I wish this would've been released 2 days earlier when I had to write an essay about a song of my choice, I looked for hours to find a song with actual meaning, in the end I took some random song, BUT THIS ONE IS AWESOME AND I'M MAD NOW

As am Indian, literally the complete opposite side of the world I'm scared. Namely because where I live there's a lot of violence already happening in schools ,(busses getting pelted with rocks while children are still inside, some violence cases where I live) recently a girl was shot in the head while exiting her college in broad daylight, nothing was done about it. I don't want to be in the next "America", I don't want a "free" nation if there's no justice.
You and your band never fail to blow my mind. I don't know if I want to cry or dance so I'm gonna do both. Seriously, though, you guys are ABSOLUTELY BREATHTAKING.
We need to blast this on a loop just everywhere, we need all of this to stop as shootings are too often now. My heart goes out to all of those people who were in shootings and those who didnt make it alive.
Damn, the SECOND this was uploaded I was on it, and considering all the recent events especially regarding shootings in America it's a very important and hard-hitting song. I'm from the UK, doesn't stop this song from having an impact. The map is heartbreaking to watch. Watching all those little 'x's gather up really just pushes it onto you doesn't it? Love grandson tho. Must have some really proud grandparents.

My 13 year old son brought 3 new ones to my attention recently stating "Mom I know you will love them it's all things you tell me!" I liked them all but you I LOVE! I can't even explain how much, the words would not serve justice! My soul needed your music at the exact time I heard it! Listening to Stigmata on my drive as i headed from PA to NC mountains literally following the hawks the whole way was so therapeutic to me! Thank you from the depths of my soul for being you!

can we all just take a minute to talk about how grandson knows what he's talking about? I'm not even talking about his opinions on the situation like whether Republicans vs Democrats is better for society. no, he actually is informed on the issues of today's culture. he's someone in our generation who, instead of using his platform to talk about sex, drugs, love, he talks about real issues. that is why he will always be one of my favorite artists. edit: let's think. maybe if America has lots of school shootings, we should take away the very guns that cause them.
@Yuri Soyboyka please take a minute to notice something. I did not insult the artist or anyone's opinion. I did not even give mine, nor did grandson. maybe I have the same view as you, maybe I dont. all I did was say that I thought that it was an amazing outlet that a person was choosing to speak out against school shootings. yes, they are tragic. but I did not give my opinion to how I think the best way to approach them would be. I simply spread a little positivity to the artist, which we dont even have enough of. I do not care for anyone's political views. I am simply here for the music 💛
Yuri Soyboyka PKAY this is an issue that isn’t going to be solved in this comment section cause our massive government can’t! What you should realize is why do we only care about gun control when the violence came to white comunities gang violence has always been in an issue. Young blacks kids getting shot who cares cries our government. Suburbs kids get shot oh no we have to do something. I don’t buy people fighting for gun rights as genuine just because of their hypocrisy. That’s my own opinion pay attention to what people aren’t talking about not what they are.
@Yuri Soyboyka legal of course; when someone bring facts into a situation an opinion is invalid, guns are causing more problems than solving currently, that is a fact, and I agree with gun ownership. Ignoring the problem doesn't solve it, grandson is not making anything up, this is the what's going on in our country, you can not deny that.
And the next X...... How many X's need the U.S.A to change something? Amazing and incredible touching song. Our thoughts are with every victim, their family and friends... ... from Germany R.I.P
The answer isn't to take our guns away. I think parents need to start being more involved with their kids(won't answer everything of course); there will NEVER be an 'end all be all' answer. Violence happens and it will always happen.
This video... The song is amazing and the message is so important, but listening to it while staring at the x's appearing on the map and watching the country get redder and redder just makes it even more effective. Makes my blood run cold.

The saddest part about the video is that these are only the school shootings that happened not even in the last 30 years, it begins in 1990. It is so many, and it only gets sensationalized by the media. (Pumped up kicks?)
Em L the song tells a story. A story of a kid who gets abused bullied and harrased and it results to using drugs to "alleviate" the pain and when he finds his dads gun he takes the chance to get revenge. It's a sad story telling the tale of what has really happened before. It tries to tell the story to stop it. Not promote it.
+Eden But at the end of the day, you can't deny some - if not most - people take the song (Pumped Up Kicks) out of context or just don't understand the context of the song at all in the first place, and thus sensationalize it because all THEY are hearing are catchy beats instead of the deeper meaning behind the song. That being said, I still respect Pumped Up Kicks for what it actually is.
I think sensationalize is the correct term, it's a selling point for the NRA and its supporters to get guns into more people's hands. I Remeber the good ole days when gun commercialization was for hunting or shooting sport.. Not home protection...
there is nothing more horrifying, from an outsider point of view, than seeing multiple comments that say some variation of 'this is still relevant' and you look at the date for them and they were posted 3 years ago, 1 year ago, and 2 hours ago (besides the actual shootings). this comment section is honestly a timeline of US shootings since March of 2018 and i don't understand why your government won't do anything. (date is 25th of may (gmt) and ted cruz tweeting about keeping the families of texas in his prayers reminded me of this song.)
A lot of the people in America don’t like the way things are, but no one in power listens, and if they do there are enough people who value precious guns over little kids to keep us paralyzed. I’m moving to Canada.
@@beaniecollection5152 same, I’ve wanted to move to Canada for a long time due to the political climate in the US always being so toxic. Too bad things are bad in Ukraine, I’ve wanted to go and maybe live there since 2019. (I love your comment and pfp by the way. It sucks how some people value their weapons over the lives of children)
@@SerfOfTheYear Thank you! Seriously, Ukraine minus the war and Canada are super safe. I have a plan. I’m saving money. Bit by bit. Piece by piece. I will drive myself to Canada and enjoy my minimal gun violence.
This packs such a powerful message to it, and it reminds me of last year at my school. For several months, there was this kid who'd regularly talk about killing people, and I initially didn't think much of it until he began threatening other people and talking about guns. I decided to tell my family about it during Christmas break, and they thought the right thing to do was to contact the police, so we did.. we later found out he had no plans of bringing weapons to school, and I felt like I did the wrong thing, but.. seeing all those X's on the map makes me realize that my school could've been on there as well if I didn't do anything about it.
@@nodernedarim7819 they had no way of knowing whether or not he was serious. if the kid didn't want to get in trouble he shouldn't have acted so edgy to impress people when school shootings are already an epidemic, and you *definitely* shouldn't be defending him.
This is a very old comment but I have the same. He talked about having a gun desk, jokes about suicide but no one really thinks anything of it. I sure hope he’s joking. Another thing: he has a reputation of losing his temper. However, I go to a Christian school but whether that changes anything I don’t know. Other than that he’s kind of nice?

Prince Havoc it hit me hard too. Reminds me of a story I heard: a shooting was happening at a school and a Kindergarten teacher told all of the kids in her class to hide in their cubbies, and they did. When the shooter came in and asked her where the kids were, she said they were in the gym (which no kids were in there in the entire school) and he left, but before he did he shot and killed the teacher. That teacher single-handedly saved over 20 children.

If i felt like i had some murdering to do the first place id go would be the gun free zone. Get the most bang for your buck, so to speak.
I agree. Though, I interpreted it as the voices of the children that were killed. It may sound kinda dark but it sounds like they're condemning the people from the past who felt bad but didn't do anything to keep their deaths from happening.
I felt like the chorus meant that the lives are no longer there and no amount of thoughts or prayers can bring them back.

This is rather because of the fact that your government is unable to actually enforce this law. Most countries with more strict weapon laws also have less gun violence. Sadly this is another week where this song is relevant AF
Jae Spooky Was really relevant yesterday
The sad truth this song is relevant almost every week in America. This year alone their was over 420 mass shootings. Averaging about 1.19 shootings a day.
What cuts the deepest is the child saying "All fall down."
"Turn off the lights.. nobody make a sound."

And that's exactly what they tell you to do in school during this circumstance.

But if they enter the room?
And people say the newest music is about nothing but worthless garbage. Yeah, sure, you've clearly never met with grandson. My favorite song so far!
just say most of it is
Misaki this song is made up of about a paragraph of words, this is dog shit
.... Since when does the amount of words matter? The greatest statements have been made with the fewest words.
Let's get a few examples up here.
"With great power; comes great responsibility"
"Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever."
"Simple morality dictates that unless and until someone can prove the unborn human is not alive, we must give it the benefit of the doubt and assume it is (alive). And, thus, it should be entitled to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness"
"An eye for an eye only ends up making the whole world blind."
"Worthless people live only to eat and drink; people of worth eat and drink only to live."
"From the deepest desires often come the deadliest hate."
"A man can do what he wants, but not want what he wants."
"Life without love is meaningless, but love without life is also meaningless."
"Everything that ends can never be had again, and since everything ends everything is priceless."
ShloKing damn that’s inspiring
Good thing ya'll argue over opinions. Now tell each other which color is the prettiest and argue over that.
Single. Day.
“No thoughts, no prayers can bring back what’s no longer there. The silent are damned. The body count is on your hands.”
Amen to that!

I find the x being put on the map of the country is more impressive... I wonder if that's a real map that shows the real places that got shot...
seeing Texas in the news brought me back to this song

Smile for the camera
Another politician bought
I swear I heard another shot
Cash another payment
Red all on the canvas
It's murder on the campus
Another press conference
Nothing gets accomplished
The suit is an accomplice
Money is the motive
The war is in the street

Turn off all the lights, nobody make a sound
Ashes to ashes, we all fall down
Are we out of time?
Can we turn this all around?

My heart is going out to all the people affected by the Uvalde shooting.
Completely horrific and senseless.
Same.. I found blood and water and got addicted to his songs.
Same here, found him though blood/water and have been addicted to his other stuff. I wish you luck dealing with the horrors how that America is becoming. Times like this being down in NZ feels like a blessing.

Love that speech 🤘🔥
- An excess of talk, rather that action, is the problem here. Do you know what the title of the song is even referring to?
- Saying that a real life problem that is killing real people is just like your #fandom comes off unserious at best and insulting at worst

silence.• I’m not pro gun haha...it’s ok if you are but something about it scares me, like to be SO concerned about not being able to have a gun is freaky (and not the good kind) it’s ok if you want a little bb-gun for protection but Machine guns are definitely not necessary...
Quint actually those are usually the ones who are able to GET the gun in the first place..
@@QuinnArgo Wow do you really expect untrained armed citizens to fight back against the US government if it ever becomes tyrannical? The US government has four branches of military and let's not forget nuclear bombs. Your whole argument for being pro gun is based upon naivety or just to piss liberals off.
But maybe one day, hopefully someday soon, we'll no longer have to worry about these things, and we can finally go and learn without having to worry about these things happening.

it’s so heartbreaking how i’ve become so desensitized to everything, just growing up in such a violent and hateful time.. from 9/11 to sandy hook to all the mass shootings and police brutality that occurs every day. i turn on the tv and it doesnt even affect me anymore. i mean, yes it breaks my heart to see all the victims and the hurt and pain that everyone is going through.. but im just, slowly accepting that no one in power cares about these people and their safety and we’re all just left to fend for ourselves..

can we all just take a minute to talk about how grandson knows what he's talking about?
Yuri Soyboyka false, guns do not save lives, in a study done on gun crimes it was found that only 3% of the time guns were used to protect
Yuri Soyboyka this study was done by the FBI lol
@Yuri Soyboyka legal of course; when someone bring facts into a situation an opinion is invalid, guns are causing more problems than solving currently, that is a fact, and I agree with gun ownership. Ignoring the problem doesn't solve it, grandson is not making anything up, this is the what's going on in our country, you can not deny that.

The answer isn't to take our guns away. I think parents need to start being more involved with their kids(won't answer everything of course); there will NEVER be an 'end all be all' answer. Violence happens and it will always happen.
It's not only the guns, to say that is stupid. It's your mental health care system
Draven Ocklost lol taking away our guns wouldn’t do shit.
so taking the guns wouldn't do shit? surely school shooters could just buy some from somalia on the go, if they're not available in the US anymore.

The saddest part about the video is that these are only the school shootings that happened not even in the last 30 years, it begins in 1990. It is so many, and it only gets sensationalized by the media. (Pumped up kicks?)
Dinosaur Kin. Yeah, I love it. I do think it 'romanticizes' school shootings though. Portraying it as cool instead of the death of innocent kids.
Uh, I don't
Em L the song tells a story. A story of a kid who gets abused bullied and harrased and it results to using drugs to "alleviate" the pain and when he finds his dads gun he takes the chance to get revenge. It's a sad story telling the tale of what has really happened before. It tries to tell the story to stop it. Not promote it.
+Eden
But at the end of the day, you can't deny some - if not most - people take the song (Pumped Up Kicks) out of context or just don't understand the context of the song at all in the first place, and thus sensationalize it because all THEY are hearing are catchy beats instead of the deeper meaning behind the song.
