I had the same machine the needle that punctures the top of the k-cup the lid would not stay shut. I just purchased a Keurig machine from the commercial side of the Keurig company. I bought the K-1500. Seems better built and bigger reservoir .
I bought this model a year ago for versatility. We are a family of coffee drinkers. A 12 cup pot of coffee and occasional single serve was perfect. Well, like you noticed, a full pot is nowhere near 12 cup. When have relatives around, we have to brew several times and this is not a fast brewer, it takes it's sweet time. Also, if the filter basket is just off a bit, you'll never get a brew. It doesn't beep or does anything to let you know that something is off. Anyway, thanks for posting this. I'm in the market once again for a better coffee maker combo.
Well, dummy, if I was gonna be brewing single cups all the time, I would buy one that just brews single cups! The whole reason this is made is to brew a pot most of the time and occasionally brew a single!
Also DO NOT try to call Keurig for a part like the little rubber gasket that goes over the upper needle as they DO NOT understand what you are talking about.😂
I have this machine and love it. Cleaning the basket holder is an issue. IMO, the other issues you cite are extremely trivial. It doesn't fit under your cabinet? Set it up somewhere else. Don't use the carafe? Storing it in the cabinet won't destroy your available cabinet space. Have to wait 3 seconds to start pressing buttons? That's such a tiny percentage of time that it doesn't affect the rest of your day unless you use the machine 20 times a day. Drippings on the lid/inside the carafe? It only takes 30 seconds to clean it. All that being said, I really appreciate your videos. I loved your tip about puncturing the K-cup to save wear & tear on the needle. Also, I had no idea what the appropriate ratios of amount of grounds to ounces of brewed coffee until I started watching here. Also, your kids are adorable! 😁

Yes, the the front tray is rickety, but does come out. It is held in with two pressure clips on each side of track and one pressure clip on the top of each track. Just pull straight out and it releases. Then remove the bottom K-cup receptacle and it will allow you to remove the spout that the coffee runs through, down to your cup. The spout has finger grips on the sides, to allow you to pull it out. Then you can scrub the stuff clean, as you wish. Then, put the spout in first; replace the basket track and the usual K-Cup receptacle and you are good to go.

These are such insignificant issues. The only problem I have with mine, and it's the same problem I've had with my last 2 Keurigs, is that most of the time it only gives me half a cup when I tell it to give me a 12 OZ cup.
Here's why I'll never buy another Keurig. The way they're advertised and priced, one would assume they're a quality product. Within 6 months, we went through 3, count them 3 Keurig machines. The first two were the single serve that take the pods. One lasted two months before it stopped working. The second one lasted three weeks. The third Keurig we purchased was the duo single cup/pot of coffee model. It lasted a year and a half before dying. Don't waste your money on these pieces of garbage.
For the carafe I purchase the 36 kcup drawer it gives the machine a nice platform and the carafe fits on the side its also allows me to slide the machine out to use the cup but you are right its tall
Anyone have a problem when they are filling individual cups and it not come out in a single stream? It comes out all over. Not sure how but If I'm doing something wrong?
I have the same problem with a k-cup brew not coming out in a single stream. I have watched numerous times and the coffee actually comes out in three different places. Coffee dispenses from a center stream, a steady dripping in the back, and also toward the end of the brew cycle the coffee comes out in the front. I am moving my cup around to catch all the coffee being brewed. So frustrating! I have wondered if that may be why they have such a large overflow tray. As a work around, I just started using a VERY wide mouth cup to capture all the coffee and then pour it into the cup I drink from. If anyone has figured out how to get the K-cup apparatus (using your own ground coffee) to dispense in the center stream only, I would appreciate your passing the information along.
@@CaliRose2020 I'd recommend roughly 18 grams for every 10oz of brewed coffee. For the full carafe which is about 56oz that would be 18x5.6 or about 100 grams of coffee. You end up brewing through a paper filter usually so just use a basic medium grind just like you would in any other drip coffee maker.
I've had 2 K-Supreme Pluses and both quit working within the first few days, they want to again replace it, I am worried about getting another so I would rather have another machine, I am trying to figure out which I want now, but I have no idea! I wish my Supreme kept working I hate dealing with Keurig Customer Service
I have this Keurig and I agree on all of these points, and would like to add that the coffee does not come out hot enough when you brew a pot I have to heat up the cup in the microwave every time
Thanks for the comment Jonathan, glad I'm not the only one to experience all this. I never have to nuke my coffee from it but I would guess you are right that the temp is a bit lower than other Keurig machines. That coffee slide on the k-cup setting probably causes a bit of heat loss, not a ton but enough to be noticeable.
I have a Keurig K-Classic that I bought from Target 2 years ago and it still works great! I get all of my coffee from Amazon since I can get it in 2 days or less with Prime!☕
I have the same K-Classic you have in the garage too, as well as the K15 Classic, both have their place for sure. I love my Keurig a lot and use it more than once each day! It makes the perfect up of coffee every time. I have been messaging Keurig if I ever have any questions about the coffee maker and they are always kind and helpful. Some of my favorite coffees brands include Green Mountain, The Original Donut Shop, Maud's, and Crazy Cups.
Anybody out there know how to use the coffee pot side of the Keurig Duo (not the k cup side) to make cups (stick your cup under there instead of the pot) I tried it but I end up having to use my finger to open the spout where the coffee comes out (which normally the pot would do) it seems like it would be easier than fooling with self fill k cups (just stick the coffee in the big filter and put your cup under there) only thing is like I said you have to hold the spout open and since the smallest amount it makes is 6 cups (meant for the pot)...so after the cup fills you have to catch the remainder in another container. Only reason I want to do this is to fill a 15 oz. cup (which the k cup wont do) and this would enable me to make it as strong as I would like. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
it is tall but where iv got mine it works great ,the pot thing is true to it just sits there in the way some times, the dripping is a thing but not horrible, but i dont put the pot back vary often , i have not cleaned mine yet but like i said in your other video on it ,so far the only real complaint iv got is the basket comes open when taking the pot out! and they do have the right replacement filter for it but you have to hunt foe it on their site but it is there now just a pain to find!
We bought this, your dislikes are first world problems, so worth the size. I had a coffee pot and a Keurig maker and that was annoying too, taking up all the countertop. They make a small flat stand that the coffee pot can sit on and you can roll it out so you can get your hands on the k-kup. But I DON'T have to pull the pot out to fill the filter for the whole pot since it loads from the front. Great trade off.
Does the new k supreme make better coffee then this one? Im stuck between these two.. just cause of the crafe but not sure if id really use it that much.. i like the new brewing system i think its changed my mind?
If you don't have a k-cup and don't have a reusable k-cup then the carafe side will make at minimum 28oz of coffee from your own grind. Hope that helps.
@ Armando Alvarez. No. If you don't have pods, you need a My K-Cup adapter to brew just 1 cup. Otherwise this machine will only brew carafes (28-30 oz at the minimum setting).
about 50 grams for 6-cup carafe, 66 grams for 8-cup, 83 grams for 10-cup, and 100 grams for 12-cup. Some people don't like it so strong so you could round down a bit and be fine... and remember, one tablespoon of coffee is about 8.5 grams most of the time so do your math for all the settings based on that. 100-grams / 8.5 = ~11 tbsp of grind for a 12-cup carafe on the K-Duo Plus.

You can literally store the carafe in a cabinet. It doesn’t have to sit on the tray….these complaints are painfully trivial.

My favorite by FAR is the Keurig Supreme Plus; especially with the 5 needle puncture feature.
I can't argue with that! It's probably their best brewer made to date IMO.

That carafe holds as much as the other 12 cup carafes. They hold the same amount.
