This week they’re joined by James Whitner of the Whitaker Group, the company behind sneaker stores A Ma Maniere and Social Status. Whitner brings along a never-before-seen Air Jordan 12 collaboration and talks about his stores’ rise, the realities of fighting bots, and how backdooring happens in the sneaker industry. Also, Joe and Welty practice yoga while Brendan recovers from a go-karting session

Hearing JLP miss out on red October’s brings back a memory of that Sunday. Got the notification on iPad, switched to my phone and managed to somehow wait through checkout and snag a size 9. I’ve never been more ecstatic in my life... but when I got them I really couldn’t bring myself to wear them. What would I wear them with? Would anyone believe a 15 year old wearing them? Anyways, the thought killed me for weeks. The money was too good at the time especially for a middle class family, however, regardless of the price I wish I kept them. When else would I get the chance again to own yeezys? Especially remembering missing out on the first Nike joints while I was on vacation in Mexico. Lessons learned hahaha

I love James’ “tourist and purist” take on Supreme’s recent Zoom 95. For some people, the bandana motif is a sensitive pattern and represents a culture that people on the outside looking in tend to glamorize. I wonder if JLP will stop wearing his pair? He doesn’t have to but it looks like he learned something during the convo.
