You gotta admit it's pretty cool Slayer influenced a band from the tiny ex Soviet county Moldova, and they had enough respect for Hanneman to do a tribute to him. He wrote this music. Give them some props for that and don't be overly critical. You know if a local band covered this song in your local bar you'd love it.
I love Diabolus in Musica and I always find I'm a minority in this opinion. I'm impressed someone cares enough to cover Stain of Mind, for me a classic mid-period Slayer piece, let alone doing it well and giving it their own flavor. Kudos.
Diablo's is one of their worst albums. Completely different than everything they've done before. They tuned down and try to mimic more of the heavier sounds of the 90s. There are some really good songs on that album though but unfortunately stain the mind isn't one of them. Point easily the best song on that album. Classic SLAYER

What if you want what many other bands have given you, a period in their careers when they didn't publish a new version of their usual stuff but something different, experimental, new? Why is it that, every time a classic band tries something else, "purists" always pop up to say "this isn't their usual sound" or "this sounds like this band or that band"? Ever thought that maybe that's what the band was going for? Ever thought that this sound is closer to what Jeff liked instead of what Kerry liked to play? COme on man, when I want to listen to classic Slayer, I listen to Reign in Blood, when I want to hear something different from Slayer, I listen to Diabolus in Musica and I'm loving the groove.
@@panayotiskalales2425 You know what I never got? how God Hates Us All totally has the same nu metal influences (Cast Down, Threshold, Seven Faces, Here Comes the Pain) but somehow gets a pass. I love both albums, but GHUA has a certain agression DIM didn't. Other than that, they're similar albums.
