On the second deck instead of Collector I prefer Strong guy. Very rare for collector to hit 9 without helicarrier but relatively easy to get your hand down to 1 with modok.

Hi Alex. I miss your twitch streams due to time differences, but Im glad I heard your thoughts multiple times on this VOD about the BS of Loki Arishem. The old Loki was much better with Arishem compared to this new version which removes Arishems weakness to Darkhawk and Cassandra Nova.
Before I watch, my most consistent discard deck has been.... Miek Morbius Dracula Strong Guy Modok Corvus Wolverine Infinaut Apocalypse Proxima Midnight Lady Sif Black Knight Pretty consistent win rate (in my experience anyway) pretty reliable when it comes to discarding things, but it has it's moments when Modok doesn't show up or the rare times I have more than one card in my hand and Dracula doesn't discard Infinaut or Apocalypse

I don't understand how anyone would want to play Helicarrier in a deck with Dracula.. I've just seen way too many opponents discard it late and end up with a 4 power Dracula with a 16 power Apocalypse in their hands. Discard is at its best when you have one of two cards in your hand. Apoc or Midnight. (And Strong Guy is a great card for discard and this plays into him too.)

Wolverine or strong guy. Proxima is usually a Free/7 that can access lanes Discard usually can’t. Wolverine is a Free/4 that “may” hop to a lane you want it to

I definitely prefer Strong Guy over Collector because I also cut Helicarrier and Swarm. Swarm can be a big problem for Dracula when drawn late and SG can match or best Collector more times than not and without the random cards also screwing your dracula. I also recently swapped Miek for Nebula and am running a surprise Shadow King which has done work.
I have been doing well with discard for about a month now, was wondering when everyone would catch up. I do prefer the second version as well, expect I run wolverine over swarm, and Daken over Corvus, Miek over collector.

Arishem fix: have him replace a random half the cards in your deck as well when generating whatever the agreed upon arishem deck number is. Cant replace arishem. You still get a deck, but much less likely to get the cards.
I only play discard and I have a invisible woman deck with zola heli carrier and devil dino you put Dracula or morb behind her and you have revona you can zola Dracula then modok. But I stopped using swarm because I always draw him turn 6

I assume Proxima is a necessity in this deck. CL4100 and play my dailies+ for about 7 Seasons now and still cannot complete any of the decks Alex covers in these vids. Hell, I'm still 5 cards from completing Series 3 lol!
Can’t say I agree with the “Arishem should just be all random cards” sentiment because… that’s just not even a deck at that point. Maybe hot take but I think Arishem is fine (especially now with the nerf), but quinjet and Loki are 100% the problem - or at least more of an issue compared to Arishem. I don’t know what the devs were smoking with the Loki buff, since it just makes Arishem even better.
Nah Arishem is way too strong and consistent. He needs more of a downside for the plus 1 energy because even the random cards are gonna be good when played ahead of curve. Couple that with the fact that Arishem gets to play multiple tech cards for free when other ramp decks can’t afford to and it’s still strongly in problematic territory for a lot of people.

@peterkefalos7430 the only problem with Arishem right now is consistency and Loki. Add 3 more cards and that is it. Yes they can play ahead of curve, yes that will let them win every now and then but their wins will be less consistent. Every deck has to win every now and then otherwise is a dead card. So before nerfing Loki I would add 3 more cards to Arishem and see how it plays out, it might be dead at that point to be honest. But I just can't keep going against Arishem with nut draws every time, it still seems to consistent even after the recent nerf.
Arishem will stay the same now, people complaining maybe don't understand that there is a LOT of cards that wrecks Arishem and guess what ? Everyone got those cards in high ladder. It's not the fault of Arishem if you don't wanna play cassandra for 1 slot in every deck or darkhawk to counter it, your fault not Arishem's

Discard will never be back to where it was before the Chavez nerf. This version is fine but it's not consistent enough to deal with all the variance. I'm getting tired of having my decks constantly countered no matter what I play. Played 3 games of Discard and two of my opponents had Enchantress. Marvel snap is in such a sad state.

Discard was my main deck for SNAP since shortly after launch, an any time you dont have targetable discard, those random discard options dont last in the deck, perfect example being old blade and moon knight, since there change from random discard to targetable, they have become staple to discard decks

The whole "Loki turn 2" doesn't happen as much as you think. And I see a nerf here, a nerf there and Noone is addressing the fact that the ladder is full of Zoo and clog decks. I mean.. looking at meta only from the perspective of infinite rank is also a bit wrong IMHO.
Man I thought I was about to see that I was contributing to populaizing discard but I been playing gambit on an onslaught Wong mystique lane thus deleting 12 cards with swarm in my hand. I been playing that for 3 weeks now. What is the untapped data on that lol

Oh so this is why I am seeing so much discard now and clapping their cheeks with my Wiccan deck. Discard is too predictable I only lose 1 cube to them or beat them for 4, this might work against people bad at retreating but not against people who make the calculations before sending the last turn.
On the Arishem discussion, I'm wondering if changing Loki to replace only the cards that started in your deck would finish nerfing Arishem down. Plus, it would mean that straight Loki players can't just, say, get rid of all your rocks that you put in their deck.
How are you winning with this deck? It's so draw dependent. I've literally dropped 8 ranks because every deck I play against is just superior. I can win shit with this deck.

I get that there is frustration with Arishem, but that solution is clearly not the correct solve even by your own criteria.
The Arishem nerf like mentioned in this video that would be best would be to make it a completely random deck and u just put him by himself into the deck and it auto fills. It would make it's own game mode and maybe even have like an event around it.

For the Drac discard I took out collector for StrongGuy and it was much better

I'd say yes, if you look in the first 4 or 5 games Alex played in the gameplay he didn't get proxima in hand once.
I don't have proxima either so I just used wolverine instead. You could also use stature with moon night. Proxima is definitely better though.

Funny, I was just playing a discard deck for alliance bounties and it felt awful. Between Casandra, Loki, and Arishem, it just cant compete.
