That is true. I think ASRock have been lately playing a good consumer concerning game in terms of listening to people and thinking before they produce which I think is a big plus!
I can definitely imagine a target audience for these mini itx, Ok they are compact and lose some functions to the larger models, the AM4 scenario had 5600G and 5700G which had decent integrated graphics, with the size of the RTX 4000 (mainly 70 Ti and more ) and the cooling of a case that houses this mini atx motherboard I would love to see the temperatures Dario!
Yeah man, totally understand the target audience and I saw them at GamesCom. I actually said to ASRock representatives there that this ITX board will be a big hit for sure. Regarding AM4, 5600G and max 3070 Ti, you already have some thermals, but not on an ITX board. Unfortunately, I don't think 5600G with 4070 Ti makes any sense because the processor just wouldn't be enough.
Looks good! Thank you for that review. I want to build on a budget and i was thinking about to pair the A620 Lightning Wifi with a 7700X or 7800X3D. Would you recommend?
Sorry for the late reply and thank you for the comment. Would be ok-ish, definitely no OC. Would suggest adding a bit on the price and grabbing B650i. In the meantime, did you get it or?

Ryzen 5700x3d is AM4, so the motherboard for this are the A520i, not the A620i. The difference in the design name is the number after the first letter. The "5" are for the AM4 socket and the "6" are for the AM5 socket. The tiers (the letters) begin with A (low budget), then the next level is B (mid range), then the highest is X (highest because it has all the bells and whistles for a price).
I've just gotten a 7950x. I'm between getting this for $139 or getting a used Asrock PG ITX board for $200. Im wondering if this can properly handle the 7950x
does a620 chipset supports turbo boost? amd site says it doesnt support any overclocking including PBO, but doesnt mention if that also includes turbo boost or not
@unholydonuts it is, apparently all A socket board support the turbo boost (e.g. PB aka precision boost), but doesnt support any overclocking, including PBO (precision boost overdrive) thats a really great budget AM5 sff board, with VRM good enough to handle 7800x3d for example (8+2+1 phases, 60A each), just a shame it probably doesnt have debug LEDs (or at least i cant find em on the board)

Wow, thanks for the feedback. Such an epic build!
i go for it
Hey can you tell me if PBO2 and undervolting is present in A620 for your beast 7800X3D? I was told only B series and up had those options.
Can you tell if it has the undervolting options in bios?
Which cooler James? Building something similar...
For now, Asrock is the only brand that is not overvolting the default xmp profiles of AMD and intel, and that's a good thing ❤.

I am beginning to think about an AM5 build, and this was informative.
Nice review! And just now the leaks about the new APUs are coming, this will be one of the most bought MB for small gaming rigs!

Please make a review for the ASRock B650i LIGHTNING WIFI! I can't find a review for it anywhere.
Coming soon. Have to build it in something. :)
Can i use with a r7 5700x3d?
No, this is for Ryzen 7000 series with a differenet socket.

Fantastic review. Just picked this board up for a nice discount
Thank you very much! Sweet! Enjoy... :D
Will I cause a short circuit if I install an aluminum heatsink for the SSD in the back?
Bought it for my mini home PC which I use for office stuff and Geforce now mainly. Fractal design Ridge + 5600x + this mobo.
Yeah, looks like unfortunately that wouldn't work...

It won't.
Bulky heatspreader near the io. It's a heat trap for sff pc's but a cool looking motherboard.
Do you think a 7700x would be ok for this motherboard. My msi b650i is crapping out on me after a year and one of the dimm slots stopped working.

No, but can set Eco Mode if you in Windows with Ryzen Master
