    I had a 64 that was the early production for the year and was made in 63. A tiny 221 v with three on the tree. Also popped a 4 on the floor and that lil puppy was a screamer. I'm a GM/Chevy guy but got this Ford for 200 back in 79 and sionce my money was funny, I jumped on it and loved it to death, seriously. But the dying part is another story that also tells on me for the life I was living at that time.
    Nice lil beasty you got there and I am sure no regrets. Dang, this sure does bring back memories!

    I enjoyed watching your video about Granny. It's always cool to hear and see
    stories about old cars that have had a 2nd chance in life.
    Awesome Story 👍🇺🇸

    I have a 1962 chevy ll 4 door. It was bought new within 40 miles from where i live. It has the 194 inline 6 with powerglide but i like it that way because its a little cruiser and not a hot rod. Your 1964 is a nice little sleeper.

      Thanks!! Sounds like your Chevy is a great ride!! Nothing like cruising around in a bit of history!!

    Ya I can totally see you as a Fairlane guy😁She is a little heavier but I'll bet she geeeeets.👍
    Original head liner is saying something. 289 is a sweet engine I had a built one in a 66 Mustang when I was 16, lol not a good combination. 🥰Oh you have her cammed out low.
    My Mustang would always float real bad at about 100 to 110, 122 was the fastest I ever took her and that was wit ha full load of friends in the car and concrete blocks in the trunk.Have a great day Keith.👍

    I remember "3 on the tree" quite well. Geez, at least put some "doggy dish" hub caps on the car.

      I have the original hubcaps but she looks like I want her to without them.

    I love origional but getting rid of the column shift is a great mod. We had a couple in Chevy. When they get loose and worn they can be an issue. Worst idea they ever had. Moving a log house? That sounds like a project.

    • @keithspillman
      @keithspillman  Год назад +1

      Yes....the column shifter had to go. The 4 speed works MUCHO better!! Yep....a log house move was a pretty big job. But the house is pretty small so probably just a couple of wagon loads of "parts" to move.

    Sweet car, I enjoy more doors. My dad had a 1964 fairlane 500 sport coupe, hipo 289 4 speed with 410 posi rear end. He said it was a fun car to drive.

    If it were me, I would've built a 351w engine for the car and full length exhaust.

    • @keithspillman
      @keithspillman  7 месяцев назад +1

      289 more realistic in a '64 and that's what I wanted. I also like the exhaust kicked out like it is. Different is good.

    Being in the south, a Vintage air setup would be good. If it's still an 8" rear, it won't last long with a performance engine in the car.

    • @keithspillman
      @keithspillman  7 месяцев назад

      I put a posi unit in the 8" rear end. As long as she spins, the rear end will last a while. But with slicks.....not so much. 😄

    • @sergeantmasson3669
      @sergeantmasson3669 7 месяцев назад +1

      @@keithspillman 8" rears don't hold up well behind a performance engine which is why all K code Fords had 9" rears. Our '71 Ford Maverick Grabber, the 8" year broke 2 days after we put a the 351w HO crate engine in it. Luckily, I had the 9" traction-lok 3:50 gears rear from a wrecked '69 Mustang Mach I and bolted that in the car and installed rear disc brakes from a '78 Lincoln Versailles.

    Do you have a part # for the headers & how do they fit ?

    • @keithspillman
      @keithspillman  Год назад +1

      I think the Doug Thorley part # was D662Y-B. You need to make sure this is the correct part suggested for your vehicle. They worked great on my 289 with a 4 speed application. I did have to modify the transmission crossmember for clearance. Thanks for stopping by!!

    Very nice Fairlane. Had a 62 and 63 both 4-door years ago. Hoping to pick up a 64 2-door soon. Did you do a Shelby Drop up front? And which springs did you use?
    Also, where did you source your steering/suspension parts? Thanks!

    • @keithspillman
      @keithspillman  3 месяца назад

      Thanks!! Nothing fancy on Granny. Stock front suspension with parts from Mac's and local suppliers. Good luck on your search for a nice project!!
