I'm a retired industrial maintenance guy with 40 years of working with some VERY talented folks who taught me so much over the years. All this "knowledge" now helps keep me busy in my shop and on the farm.......and out of trouble with my wife!!

Restoring My 1941 White M2A1 Half Track - Building Bertha....Picture By Picture!!!! Part 2
Back in 2018, I found a 1941 White M2A1 Half Track in a million pieces in a barn. When I restored her (Bertha), I didn't take many videos, but I took a LOT of photos.
This is Part 2 of a series of photos (not sure how many??), showing bogie wheel/assembly rebuild, hub rebuilds, hydrovac rebuild, installing tracks and valve issue/resolution.

Your bees look happy and healthy. Don’t forget to give him a little treat. Like maybe some honey from Los Angeles, California. I wonder what the bees would think of back on the East Coast taste in the West Coast honey. Can’t wait to see what the groundhog thinks.
They don't "taste" like we do so I'm sure they would like it. Honey bees can make some honey that is pretty bad tasting from things like wild cherry, mountain laurel and rhododendron. Come on Spring!!!

Hello!! Thanks for stopping by!! I checked the Hive Alive website. It states there......"The fondant has a 2 year shelf life. There is no need to refrigerate or freeze Hive Alive Fondant Patties. Store in a cool, dry place. Avoid prolonged high temperatures (over 85°F for a long period of time)." Hope this helps!!!

Part 2 came across my feed, so i backed up to part 1. Still have to watch part 2. I can tear down a house and rebuild it, but cars intimidate me. My son Noah that you met is just getting started wrenching but seems to have the bug. Im going to forward these to him, hopefully for inspiration. I'm looking forward to watching part 2.

In my parts im thinking snow plow on a halftrack ? 😊 about 12 inches or so here.

I consider myself a jack of all trades and a master of a couple. I had 5 ten year careers. Looks like you may have done the same thing. I had a sawmill and used my '87 Ranger to haul logs. Finally, had to break down and buy a Dodge Cummins. I was an airman in the Navy, I built houses, did refrigeration mechanics, worked for Home Depot, did mechanical drawing (drafting), owned and operated a wild bird supply store and now I'm a beekeeper. But, I don't think I'd take on a task like Bertha for the fun of it.
Hello!! My dad ran a service station, so I grew up messing with cars. I started my career in industrial maintenance as an electronic technician and was promoted into maintenance management. I worked with MANY talented folks over the years....carpenters, millwrights, machinists, welders, mechanics, electricians, technicians, HVAC, refrigeration, etc.... These folks were a wealth of knowledge and if you just kept your mouth shut and paid attention, there was much to be learned from each of them!! Bertha was a great project and tapped many skills I had learned over the years. Thanks for stopping by!!!
Wow! I can't imagine doing somethiing like this. And, I do have a little experience working with 1940s refrigeration compressors. You must work in some type of machinist or mechanics. Can't imagine how you came up with some parts without manufacturing them yourself.
Many of the parts I found were NOS from the early 40's still in boxes. I did have to have many of the 1/4" steel plates on the rear made. I had them cut to size, and then drilled and countersunk a bazillion holes. 😆

Hello!! not sure she will ever be "finished", but around 2 years to get her mechanically sound and drivable to the point I could do a parade. Was a bit of work. 😉
