of healthy and eager to serve in the Army even for a day as I respect the solider who scarifies their life for the country. During my college days I , awarded with C certificate in NCC. By then I proud to be an Army Soldier, but due to some family hardships, I was compelled to join in the job which is first available . However, my zeal never die. I am proud and happy that the soldiers who got opportunity in protecting for Nation. Jaihind.

Created out of thin air these fallacies serve just one purpose- showing our forces in bad light.
Instances of soldier shooting their comrades is due to acute PTSD and at times hypoxia in high altitude, please stop bullshiting about how you are "pointing out" these "failures" within the existing system.
As far as major gaurav is considered he broke his spine after taking a fall and being severely injured in a CI area please be a little considerate when you criticise someone on a public forum w/o any prior research.

Look at how these officers cadet talk..Now people who haven't applied in army should understand how hard it is to crack the SSBs..these young cadets already speaking with hell of confidence by making straight eye contact means these are the type of candidates you are up against to get selected..I have to say IMA & NDA are among the best training academies in the world..

@Mainak Basu your comment seems ignorant to say the least, mere allegations and speculation amount to nothing and the aforementioned incidents do not exist according to "crdible" sources of information you can go on weaving yarns of such fallacies and waste your time getting too caught up in your own pre conceived notions about these "arrogant, oh so full of themselves hilli billys" but the fact remains that these guys will be there when you need their help, these young guys have taken up the toughest carrer paths india has to offer and they take pride in it. They are not in it for money my friend cleared JEE adv,gave his SAT and imerial scholarship exam, bagged a scholarship at kings collage london for aerospace engineering(an institution you can only dream of seeting foot into!) Rejected those offers cleared SSB joined NDA and is now making everone proud. These guys aren't in for the power either, the calibre these young men have, their work ethic and dedication would make the CS seem like a cakewalk they took the first UPSC an indian can take and chose a demanding profession because of that higher calling.
I also give in to the fact that you are entitled to your opinion and that the IA is no holy cow but i would like to emphasise on the underlying fact that there is immense room for correction and the perpetrators(if any,hardly) are swiftly punished. This just goes on to reiterate that your comment clearly reflects that you've been made to beleive lies idk if it is the kind of education indians get or the lack thereof which leads to or rather promotes such irresponsible behaviour.
@Mainak Basu Mainak Basu what seemed probable at the time of writing this comment now seems to be a certainity, you might have had a bad experince with someone someplace and that seems to be the bedrock of your belief that makes you believe that the entire forces are the same.
When you say that you are capable of a lot more than what you seem to be but are " addicted to pornography and are too lazy to do anything" you paint a very grim picture of yourself. Achieving a perfect score in SAT and also clearing JEE adv is very different than just topping your class "once" the hardwork that goes in is the difference between a successful person and a failure. I may not have been able to stress enough on the fact that achieving what my friend did is no mean feat that any hillibilly can achieve, it requires you not only to be a genius but also be very hardworking.
As far as your presumption of me being puny goes- boy you're wrong.. i have a VO2 max of 71.4, was a state champion in boxing in high school had the previlage of leading the indian contingent against kazakastan and win, lead my basketball team in multiple tournaments, also played agaist mohan bagan once(lost), I am a cross country gold meadalist(was a local competetion so i don't claim to be the best), i also go aginst other gym branches during friendly competetions while balancing studies and scoring pretty decent, nowhere as close as my friend( i am AIR 5000) i will also be participating in an ultramarathon (120km+) in begium very soon.. i sincerely hope that it puts to rest your imagination.
My friend is not an exception when i recount his achievements there are many that are out there working silently while people like you try to pull them down.
And no manik you won't be able to snap the neck of even one combatant for that matter that i asuure you. I have no idead who you are so as far as judging your capabilitied goes i'll leave that to your judgement and the people around you.
The force largely comprises of people who have set very high morality standards for themselves and those around them and i'm yet to come across a "sleasy, corrupt, lazy,..." soldier or officer and neither am i trying to defend anybody.
There are people beyond your immidiate locality, region, village that are far far more capable than you are boy, the sooner you realise the better it'd be.

First of all thanks a lot, sir. My self Digambar Debbarma a final year student and recently I got hold of onto the latest documentary on IMA by Republic. And honestly, that was a splendid initiative made by the entire team of Republic and most greatly thanks to Major. Gaurav Arya Sir. It was "Josh type" Sir.
Sir, now that there have been enough efforts made by your entire fraternity to make successful in covering the day to day life of a GC in the IMA. Next, the viewers would also be interested in watching a standard alike documentary on OTA, Chennai as well. And subsequently, if you could highlight on various other defence establishments by which many youths from the far-flung area of North-eastern state would be well aware of and be interested enough to take part in securing the lines as a military commander of future.
So, Sir.
Kindly for the next episode let's hope we get to see the OTA, Chennai in brief.

I request you to please also have a visit to the RDC camp Of NCC, which every year conducted in January in DGNCC, Delhi cantt. I was also the part of that camp in 2017. I'm sure that you will be impressed by the Josh of those NCC cadets.

Philip Chetwode, 1st Baron Chetwode, was the Commander-in-Chief of British Indian armed forces from Nov 1930 to Feb 1933, and it was during his time that IMA was commissioned in 1932. Whether it is time to rename "Chetwode Hall" inside IMA as "Somnath Sharma Hall" should be opened up for debate? Major Somnath Sharma was India's 1st PVC (Param Vir Chakra) and from IMA.

An Infantry soldier OR Officer never leaves his parent regiment at any cost,only bad officers are posted to other units on adverse reports. Generations of officers proudly serve in the same regiment or Battalion. Like the Brigadier whom Gurav Arya is interviewing, is the third generation in the same battalion, BUT since he could not withstand the rigors of infantry and military life particularly in Kashmir, he chose to shed uniform for a safe and peaceful civilian life.Major General Ian Cardozo is a shining example who preferred to serve in the Army even after chopping off his own leg after stepping on a mine during the 1971 war when he was a Major serving in 5 Gurkha.That is what is known as a classic soldier NOT a soldier who dodges Army service in the face of danger and when at a safe distance, turns back to impress on others about Military life. There have been very brave officers in teh Indian Army like General Shahbeg Singh and many others , Why then a deserter taking on to become the spokesperson of the Indian Army?????
Gurav Arya was commissioned in March 1994 in the Indian Army and joined his unit in April 1994.He was boarded out from Service in early 1999 therefore served in the Indian Army for only four and a half years.
During 1996, barely with two years of service he became a casualty in an avalanche in the Sugar Sector on the Chinese border after which his medical category was downgraded to Category CEE. Excluding the time spent on training and in Hospital he has a ground service of less than two years only !!!!!! Does it take this much of time to become an expert on defense matters?? NO SIR !!! And by the way his promotion to the rank of Major was temporary because he had not attained the minimum service to become entitled to a substantive rank of Major. He left the Army on teh day he was given the temporary rank of a Major. With such a shallow experience and service the erstwhile Major has become an expert on Military and defence matters, probably because India does NOT have qualified and experienced former officers to speak. OR because senior Officers like Air Marshal (retd) M.S. Bawa and Maj Gen (retd) Atma Singh, prefer to tell the truth and not to violate their integrity. No Doubt the old timers were examples of military ethos. Gurav Arya has gained prominence only because he is a Pakistan hater and spews out venom against the Kashmiri Muslims. He justifies the Indian Army's atrocities against the Kashmiri youth calling them agents of Pakistan. His advice to Pakistan is tantamount to an illiterate person teaching his elders. In the military language it is termed as "Teaching papa to F**K."
