At week 37, the average baby measures about 19 inches long and weighs about 6 ½ pounds, about as much as a canary melon. Hungry for more baby intel? Fat continues to accumulate all over your little one's body, forming dimples on the elbows, knees and shoulders, and creases and folds in the neck and wrists.
Your baby is keeping busy in anticipation of delivery day by practicing to make perfect, inhaling and exhaling amniotic fluid to get the lungs ready for that first breath, sucking that little thumb to prepare to suckle at the breast or bottle, and blinking those eyes to practice for the transition from a dark cocoon to the bright lights of life on the outside. It won't be long before you're gazing into those eyes yourself.
If you feel sharp, stabbing pains in your pelvis, don't stress. This is a common late pregnancy symptom called lightning crotch. Got your attention? Lightning crotch will do that, big-time. It probably comes from all that pressure on the nerve endings in your poor pelvis. Are you suddenly breathing a little more easily and peeing a lot more often? That, plus an increase in pelvic pressure and pain, may be a sign that your baby has dropped into your pelvis. This is a process called engagement, or lightening, since it lightens the pressure on your long-cramped diaphragm.
Lightening is more likely to take place two to three weeks ahead of labor if it's your first time, or just before labor if your uterus has already been there, done that. It also means that your little bundle is locked and loaded and in position for departure, even if that departure isn't imminent.

37 Weeks today with my miracle baby. I had 3 seperate doctors diagnose me with premature menopause at age 27 (8 years ago) One literally used the words "clock is done ticking"
In 2021, my mom was in her final days prior to losing her battle to brain cancer. We were having a conversation about "the other side" and talking about what signs she could give me. She said "You'll know it's me when you get your baby girl" (I have 2 boys)
Knowing she wasn't in her right mind, I laughed and reminded her I couldn't have more kids so to pick something else.
She said "doctors don't know everything but moms do, you get your baby girl. Just watch"
EXACTLY 3 years later from that conversation I found out we were having a baby girl. Not only that but her due date was exactly 5 years after my mom's original cancer diagnosis.
So when I call this baby my miracle baby, that's why. I can't wait to meet her soon. Xoxo

Currently 37 w 2 d experiencing lighting crotch as I’m writing this 😅 baby Mylah, things didn’t go how daddy and I planned but mommy got it under control now💜 we have a place to live now, no more crying, only happy tears from now on. I love you baby I can’t wait to meet you 🥰

@@athenkosinqampoyi6611Went in at midnight - had the folley bulb placed and 6 hours later pitocin was started. At 12pm the bulb was taken out and I was 5cm, my water broke at that time. By 18 hrs of labor the pitocin was very difficult and I was 7cm so I got an epidrural. Baby was stuck in an odd position so it took another 6 hours to progress to 10.5cm however once I hit 8cm the epidural failed so it was exhausting. After 24 hours of labor it was finally time to push- took 30 minutes of pushing and no tearing!! (My first baby)
Wouldn't a c section have been a better idea??

I'm in 37 weeks and 3 days.. It's been 3 days I just wanted to poo but nothing comes out, lol✌️, And today I feel mix pain, in my lower back and front, I think I've been in toilet for 10x already tried to push I don't know if I needed to go to the hospital, I never experience this feelings in my first pregnancy.
