Mr. Harb, Thank you very much for posting this lesson on cross-string trills. Your explanation and demonstration of this technique gets right to the point and is very understandable. Thank you!
I'm an amateur player and have recently started to try the aimp version of the cross-string trill. It was a great tip of yours to not accent the p and do a diminuendo. I tried it my practice session last-night and I could hear a real difference. As you say, musically its much more like what one does with the LH alone trill.
Sorry my search for cross-string trills didn't send me here the first time--but better late than never. Have enjoyed your short videos on YT, and this is the best video I've seen yet for cross-string trills, and actually explains the mechanics of getting this technique going--many thanks!
You're an excellent teacher......i'm tackling some Scarlatti.....doing shorter trills like this, but P and A together, then I-M-P.... Great explanation...thanks.
Question the Sor study in "G"..the one with the 3rds harmony . Do you find it hard to hold barre the G on the 3rd fret and play the B note on the 1st string (with pinky)? I dont know if its because I broke my wrist but I find it hard to stretch to the B harmony while keeping the G chord held.
Please feel free to order this DVD that covers all the 20 Sor/Segovia studies: tariqharb.storenvy.com/collections/252479-all-products/products/16249626-harb-plays-sor-studies-an-educational-dvd I've been told that it helped many guitarists tackle and master these studies, and I hope it can help you too! Thanks for your support!
Truly great advice/lesson.. We truly don’t get much of those on YT.. At that efficiency and quality anyhow. Thanks Tariq Harb!
Thank you so much Tariq! I was looking for useful advice on cross-string trills, and I've found it!

Great! Glad you see its value! Once learnt properly it can be very expressive. Keep going!
Amazing instruction !!!!! Hope to one day see Tariq perform in New York.
8:20 and on fading the trill gradually... and at 9:00 "so that it sounds as an embellishment, rather than actual notes written out". great advice!

I am not sure exactly which study you are referring to. Do you mean No.16, numbered by Segovia?
Sorry,Yes Segovia #16
