"De la Descente" is a forest retreat designed by Matière Première Architecture for a young Montreal couple with two children. Situated on a small plateau between steep slopes with a stunning lake view, the design integrates the vernacular context of the surrounding agricultural and chalet-style buildings. The project features a detached garage oriented differently from the main house to create a visual opening towards the water. The main house includes a cathedral living room with triangular fenestration and organically organized interior spaces. Natural and durable materials, such as pre-aged white cedar, were used to harmonize with the wooded environment. The design includes dormer windows for natural light, a pool for visual continuity with the lake, and a concrete fire pit, creating a playful, geometric architectural composition.

The sound is disturbing because of the left-right alternation.
