You are like me, Eileen. We are the rare people with extremely high morals and high value of "justice." We've been taught to always be good, and do the things we truly want, not the things we're "suppose to do" to succeed in life. The problem with this direct approach (from my experience, and I am sure you noticed that as well) is that most people today have a lower bar for morality and lower sense of "justice." They are willing to be flexible in their values to achieve want they want. So, it's quite hard for people like us, since we just can't force ourselves to give up our values to be more accepted by society. We would rather be alone than give up the sense of who we are. But then again, if there's two of us, there's certainly more people like us out there, who would understand this feeling instead of trying to change us. So keep the positive mindset and the honest approach to life. I believe that at some point being so stubborn should be rewarded, right? 😂
It is a beautiful story and often sounds like poetry. It was a gracious gesture to share part of their life story which I think contributes an understanding of China's recent history.

Great story. Just letting you know, you are combining very slow speaking with very high level chinese. Its good having the english separate - with your other vids, i have to play tricks (hide part of the screen etc) to avoid looking at the english.
Love your videos. One way you can earn more money is to switch your payment method to a subscription based instead of a one time payment. For example, have your customers pay a monthly fee of $10 for all your educational videos and products instead of a one time $30.
Unpopular opinion: it would be nice if the subtitles on the left was Chinese characters rather than pinyin since the pinyin is already provided at the top. Otherwise great content as usual :)

The Chinese characters are all on the left side. You just need to read a bit vertically
