Definitely a fun season with a great opportunity to go deep. This is a true “team”. Detroit has been incurring some big injuries lately, so anything can happen.

Thats my issue with KOC's playcalling. I wish he would call games like the patriots used to. Where their offense changed week to week based on who they played. I mean have your staples and philosophy. But don't be so rigid, that you keep bumping your head against the wall. Why couldn't he pivot sooner instead of waiting till the second half.

Sarcasm aside, why is KOC never questioned on his short yardage play calls by local press ? It is such a blatant blind spot and has caused way too many stopped drives

No team is winning a ton of games that aren't 1 score games. Seems like 90% of the games in the NFL come down to the final minutes of play. Any win is a great win, especially a road win.

does this guy know anything about championship football teams throughout history? they all have had older aging players on the defensive side of the ball. that’s how you win the big one in February. look at the 21’ Rams and 20’ Buccaneers. a few key players on those teams- Von Miller, Jason Pierre Paul, Eric Edddle, N Suh, the list goes on. say hi to Harrison Smith and Stephon Gilmore(who by the way won the Super Bowl fo for the Patriots a few years ago in 2018) and a future HOF🐐

Win win for both sides sign a one year 20 million dollar contract And stays with a solid coaching staff and not go to a team where the grass isn’t always greener that pays him $ 40 million and goes through Hell all over again.

If he takes team to the NFC Championship: Perhaps more realistic would be 1 yr, 25M with 10M guaranteed, or 2 yr 35M with 15M guaranteed. Sam is proving to be a certified franchise QB. Why move on at 27 years old? He'll be 29 to negotiate a bigger contract for himself if things go well.

At minimum, he will get a one year prove-it contract in the $35-40M range. Mediocre starters like Cousins and Prescott are commanding $50M+. No way he is passing on $15-20M to stay here.

I want Darnold to stay. He’s been tested, and proven as a reliable quarterback.

    9:20 - Hello Sir,
What you are describing is none other than the softest fanbase in all of professional sports. And it’s not close.
    Sincerely,

McCarthy was Darnold’s equal in his forst NFL training camp. He projects to be at least as good as Darnold. He is a proven winner his entire life and is on a rookie deal. Darnold with $40M less of a roster than McCarthy is a worse team, no matter how you spin it.
Only way you keep Darnold is on a Flaco type deal because you won a Super Bowl and are indebted. Otherwise, you thank him for his service and wish him well on his next team.
