It seems where he was laid to rest is a wonderful place to be, I’m sure the services were lovely.. and he’s with the lord now which I know he staunchly believed in. Love to you all up there, a true light to the world has left but he left a great mark.

@@ThatsWhtasUp it depends. Some people learn it fast and become good real fast. I was a real slow learner because I had no natural ability and didn't start playing until I was 20 years old. It took me years to get decent. I stuck with it though and I'm a pretty good player now. I've known people who learned in two or three years what took me decades. It's different for everyone.
ImlekSutra it was just a "ideal fantasy" , not some reality, tbh most of the older people are just sharing some old stories with you and often forgetting lots of things, and repeating it. It was more a reference to some ideal situation rather than something real. Had image in my head; snowing outside, fireplace, grandpa jamming and telling stories. Would be ideal place to be :)

The amount of guitar licks you know increases with age, as long as you keep playing. The best players I have seen have been between 80 and 100 years old. I saw a blues band in Seattle a few years ago and the youngest guy was in his early 90's. They sounded great.

I started playing the guitar really late. I'm 35 now and insanely frustrated after hitting a brick wall in my learning curve. I saw that and got a lot of motivation from it. Instead of being afraid of what will be, i decided to just continue and have fun wherever my journey will take me. I love his Video. Cheers, Mr. Wood!

These early electric guys are literally the reason why millions of teens picked up guitars and learned to rock. 90 % of riffs even today are simply variations of the riffs these dudes invented.
I am not sure about that. He seemed to be not satisfied with 100% of his performance. There are runs where he looks angry to his fingers, so maybe he has a little athritis. He is still lightning fast to me and ten times better than I will ever become. Chapeau. RESPECT to that man.
Awesome. I had a guiatar exactly like that one. Handed down to me for 2 generations. I played it every single day and night. It got destroyed in a flood here in Texas when it floated down the river when I lost my house in 17 feet of water. Never saw it again. Most beautiful sound it had. Never found another like that one. The tone and feel was perfect.

My father in law who is losing his eye sight and has hand tremors and all sorts of issues can still play his guitar like he’s young. It’s crazy how his hands and muscles stop shaking the second his hands go on his guitar.
My aunt of 88 had dementia, but she could play mahjong and count the chips without a hint of medical condition. Finally the disease got up with her at 90. 🙏
