I looked at my Susan B. Anthony collection and believe it or not, all of them were the small rims which was very awesome. I really lucked out and thank you for teaching me!
Excellent review, I collect these and have the '79's the 1980 and '99 I remember the Post Office doing that distribution back then! I get these from both a bank and a laundry vending machine.
Went to buy flowers for my mom for mother's day n I seen the change drawer open. I asked the lady can I have the sbanothony as my change and she complied. Checked you tube n J n B first....and you have a video!!!!! And low and behold I have the 79 thin rim. How cool. My eyes are peeled constantly. Lol thanks J n B!!!! Hope your feeling better and can't wait for the show tonight!
Thanks to you and camera girl for all your videos and posts, lots of work and commitment go into them are obvious. Wealth of information, you and blue ridge silver hound are my first 2 "go to guys" for info on numismatics, always learn something interesting from your vids, thanks so much, greatly appreciated!
Also in the Uncirculated coin envelope sets.. for 1979, they only included 2 Susan B. Anthony Dollars, but in the 1980 and 81 Unc. Coin Sets,(not the proof sets), they included all three mint mark dollar coins..(my heart skipped a beat when I realized I had 1981 Susan B. coins and your video did not mention them .. LOL ). BTW THANK YOU for doing this video.. when Susan B's first came out I went to the bank and got 5 rolls of these.. they just sit in my safe and I never gave them a thought.. (along with a bank pack of sequentially numbered $2 bills ). Now I need to think about going through them to see if they are worth more than face value.. Thank you again. :)
Went to visit with my Teller girls today. We got to reminiscing and one said she had been there 17+ years and she had saw some "gold dollars" in the vault that had been there since before she had started working there. Ok....I'm starting to salivate at this point! I asked her if I could get them and she said "no problem"! So she brings me $400.00 dollars worth of wrapped dollar coins. I get them home and I find a 80/20 mix of Sacajaweas and Susan B. Anthonies. After searching through I have a great mix of wide rim 79's, around 30 "D" uncirc's, 6 or so "S" MM'S with two being proofs, a couple filled "S"s, about 5 or so 1980's, and a couple hundred $$$'S in just beautiful uncirculated 79 "P"s. I also have a handful of toned examples. A few other oddities. Not sure what I'm gonna do with this great find yet but exciting nonetheless!!
5yrs. Later I'm watching ur vid. For more knowledge on the coin. Found a narrow rim far date 1979 P. At my bank. Just the other day. It's in very nice condition I must say. Keep the knowledge coming. 👌 hafa adai from Guam 🇬🇺
I found a 1980 Susan B Anthony in a roll of dollars. How lucky considering I’ve never found a silver coin coin roll hunting. Other than the 1980 Susan B Anthony, my best coin roll hunting find is a 1947 King George VI Canadian penny. I found that in my third box ever. I’m about to get a box of nickels. Wish me luck! By the way, to watch the video of the nickel box, go to my channel. If for some reason you don’t know how to, click the Luigi icon to the left. The video will be available soon. Happy coin roll hunting! Oh yeah, I almost forgot. In my second or third box of pennies, I found a 1920 wheat penny. Although it’s old, that’s not my oldest wheat penny. My oldest one is one that one of my friends gave me. It’s also ok the best condition of my collection of wheat pennies. It was a 1913. That is not my oldest penny either. My oldest penny out of all of them, is a 1903 Indian head penny. Happy coin roll hunting!
I absolutely love this video, I collect Susan's and for some reason I love them. And No I am not some feminist that loves the coin because it's a female lol. I'm not exactly sure why I love them, but I do know that every store I go into I always say "Hello, i like odd coins. Do you have any half dollars, large dollars, are even small gold (colored) dollars? Thanks!" I usually score at least 1 small dollar (presidential, susan or the sacagawea), 1 out of 10 visits I usually get a half dollar (not silver), sometimes I score an eisenhower, and every once in awhile I score something nice, like a silver something or walking half, etc. Thanks for the vid!!
Kristina i think we're so afraid of being called... Feminist... I'm not a Feminist, however I think its really crappy that we've only got 1 damn coin with a woman on it .... That should make it more collectable.......but everyone's too afraid of being called a Feminist... Ridiculous
We still have Sacagawea, and "Lady Liberty" on gold and silver eagles, and a woman has been on the obverse of many coins since the 1700's Draped bust, Capped bust... Morgan Dollar... 225th Commemorative gold oz. has a Black woman... Besides, this is about collecting coins, we don't need to make every single conversation bout a "social Issue". Collect it because you like it... I collect SBA's because I like them and they are available at good prices in high grades. A good set that doesn't take a life time to complete.
I can say I have a complete set of SBA, every variety. Scrounged, slammed all the post offices. I would just put dollars in and then return the money for the coins. Went to every bank around and bought boxes of rolls. Then started hitting the coin show and buying up the PCGS graded SBAs. When these were first issued and everyone started complaining about them, I knew they would not be in mint for long. Good info, thanks
About 20 years ago a job I was working at had a change machine that solely gave out those. And then they had a few vending machines that would only take the Susan B Anthony Dollars. I thought it was so cool. I ended up buying a couple dollars worth to keep, but I didn't buy that much cuz they really weren't worth that much. I just grabbed them because I thought they were unique. Thank you for the video
JBCOINSINC I have a lot of random stuff that I need to go through that I have had for years. The Susan B Anthony Dollars I think I only have about 15 or $20 worth, I really didn't buy a lot of them
E.K. Fernandez used several hundred thousand of these at their carnival fair because it was harder to steal as the weight alone kept thieves from running fast. About 4 maybe more years ago E.K. discontinued its use and switched to game cards. So...in Hawaii we have several hundred thousand roaming and sitting in banks.
He mentions in this video that a SBA dollar was struck in a Sacagawea blank. sold for $12,000 in 2005. I have one. Both faces are the gold color but the edges look like the copper silver color of a regular SBA dollar.
i like all your videos the way you explain about coins i think you are the best out there, very help full for all viewers who watch your videos .Thank you Sir .
I had some of those coins and may still have some stored away at home. There was the confusion which caused so many to not use them in stores or vending machines and I figured they would be a collectors item only and when I got them just put them away.
Need to correct you J.B., 1981 had Susan B. Anthony dollars as well, again as N.I.F.C. 3 million from Philly, 3.25 million from Denver and 3.5 million business strikes from San Francisco.
If I missed that then I stand corrected. I knew that I might have slipped my mind or it could also get lost in editing. I was trying to prove that point that they made them for only 79 then only NIFC until 99.
This coin was jokingly known as the Carter Quarter because it was frequently mistaken for a quarter. It was only slightly larger in diameter than a quarter and the only really distinctive feature was the raised edge on the top part of the eagle’s head and wings on the tail side. Not a good design for a coin.
I have a 1979p SBA coin which appears to have a flying eyebrow on the right side dangling and directly aligned to the left eyebrow of the coin. First l’ve seen on SBA coin.
Just found a 1979 wide rim far date out of a car wash change dispenser pretty ruffed up thought I’d take a look into it looked pretty cool may have something on my hands fellas
Thanks for the insight and understanding of these crazy coins, I have a 1980 "S" and the "S" is screwed up. How do I check if it's made of the silver composition? Keep up with the video's because you are providing 👌 grrrrr8 information to us that don't know alot. Peace Out ✌ ☮ and I hope that you will get back with me.
I went bank hunting on Friday and got 2 Susan's with 7 Sacajawea and 13 presidential ! wow and both Susan's are narrow rim what are they worth? I also did a video on them as well!
I just returned from the bank and bought all the teller had on her tray, 2 thin rim 79 an one 80 thick rim, three67 Kennedy's I've herd that some 67 Kennedy's were done accidentally struck in silver???? Dropping them on the table sure sounds like it... the edges show no copper. And eleven gold dollars with president?? Would be nice if anything was collectible.
1967 Kennedy half dollars were struck in 40% silver. 1964 Kennedy is 90% silver. 1965-1970 in 40% silver. You should definitely keep any of these years.
I went to a do it yourself car wash and put in five dollars because I didn’t have quarters and I received 1979 Susan B Anthony’s so I decided to put in another five and another five and it kept pumping out the silver dollar. I have one narrow rim and the rest are wide rim. I have S, P, D and blur mint marks.

In the past when I got these $s as quarters the cash register person would, after I pointed them out as $s, say " I got them as a quarter, I CAN'T put them over to the dollar slot for change, it will put my register off, enjoy your good luck."
They used to call them the "Carter Quarter", because they were mostly issued at that time, and because inflation almost tripled over the Jimmy Carter administration years.
No offense intended but the 1980 Susan B. Anthony dollars were struck for circulation, and the 1981, was the NIFC, and the lowest minted of the 3, years they produced them. The 1981, production numbers were lower than the 1980,proofs. Just letting you know what I believe to be correct. Good video. Thanks
I have a 1979 Susan b quarter that I'm unsure of the mint mark, it doesn't look like a letter and it has 2 dots above it. Have you seen or heard of one like this?
I have 1 1979 and 1 1980 Susan Anthony Dollar Coins. What is its worth now? I also have 1 Millard Fillmore Dollar coin (not Silver) and would like to know what is the value.
I’m ordering 16000$ worth of these dollar coin boxes. I have two coin laundromats that I’m converting to take dollar and quarters. My question is what is the rarest dollar coin? Obviously I can’t go through 16k$ in dollar coins it would take me forever
Why is the wide rim valuable...the near date has nothing to do with the date, it is close because of the rim, It doesn't look like an error. What will we do when no more coins are produced? Will people be interested, or will interest go crazy?
I just started watching your videos maybe you said this before but what if we have coins that we think are valuable how do we go about trying to sell them or knowing exactly what they're worth but I like your videos thank you bye
Why does my 1979 and 1999 both look like the narrow rim when everyone says 1980, 81 & 99 are all wide rim? I have the wide rim variety to compare too, my 1999 looks narrow, is it rare?
Very Interesting.. TY for sharing bro..Mother found a few of those Dad musta stashed years ago.. a couple narrow, a couple wide.. Theyre all year 2000, though,, Are they special in any way??
They should gold plate them like other dollar's in the smaller series, presidential, etc. Forces one to immediately handle it differently over a quarter.
I have 1 1979 thin rim, far date. 3 1979 thick rim, near date. 4 1980 and 3 1999 Suzy B's. I also have one Suzy B 1979 but it is (what appears to be) gold plated, thin rim far date coin. I'd like some info on the gold plated coin. I've not seen one before and I was wondering if it's from a commemorative set of something similar. I would appreciate any comments. Best to all.
I have one that looks like it was struck on a gold dollar planchet on obverse and the original Silver on the reverse.. it’s crazy. I’d like to share it with someone to see what they think.
I looked at my Susan B. Anthony collection and believe it or not, all of them were the small rims which was very awesome. I really lucked out and thank you for teaching me!
wow! unbelievable!!
How much was it worth?
😂🤣
I have 1 of the narrow rims in 1979
I have a small rim one

Just ordered a complete set of these in uncirculated condition. I like these. They are interesting and different. Great video, Jay.
How much you pay?
@@ShsshshBrheeheh about $50 with the 99P proof @ $35 by itself.

I had a high school buddy, in Rochester,NY, who lived in the Victorian brick house right next to the Susan B.Anthony home! Passed it many times.
Thank you for the great history lesson. I can remember people really being angry when these coins came out.

I’m literally holding a 1981 Susan B right now that is pristine.
Great information as always JB. I also have a couple thin rimmed. Just checked "Ebay", and the wide rimmed seems they are worth way more..
Wide rim is more rare...
i liked the SB's. Here in Washington state they had postage machines that gave them in change to you. i liked them to keep. not to use in circulation.
Will hopefully be finishing my Susan B Anthony set pretty soon(not including varieties)

I like the Susans, but that's probably because she's a great-great aunt, or something like that. Good video! Thanks!
We are happy you liked the video! Thank you for watching and commenting. J&B
Love the SB’s myself. I always tryed to save them
Me too.
I have a lot of These Coins ! I'll have to look thru mine
What is the value of the 1979 coin?
I got the 1980 one from a vending machine
I would buy 5 stamp books, 5 times toget these in change. Haven’t actually counted them
I love all U.S coins, especially IKE Dollars!!!
Great information I remember on the train stations also was dispensed. This is good info.
Very intriguing video. I recently picked up 79 proof sets types 1 and 2 and now I gotta go look at them. Lol
This coin was jokingly known as the Carter Quarter because it was frequently mistaken for a quarter. Great information. It's because you offer such info that I subscribe to your vids. Keep up the excellent work, and thank you!
The 1980 susan b's were made for circulation as well. As far as I know none of the 1981's were made for circulation.
I have a 1979p SBA coin which appears to have a flying eyebrow on the right side dangling and directly aligned to the left eyebrow of the coin. First l’ve seen on SBA coin.
All of coin look beautiful!!!
I have a few but the craziest one is a proof coin with a gold obverse and silver reverse.
I think I have the rarest Susan B Anthony. It's like Oreo cookie, silver clad, unlaminated and more.
Just found a 1979 wide rim far date out of a car wash change dispenser pretty ruffed up thought I’d take a look into it looked pretty cool may have something on my hands fellas
I have 2 1979 Susan B Anthony dollars . I from Canada got them at work.

I have an odd colored Susan Dollar But I also have quite a few really strange colored Sacagaweas.
1980's were released in circulation but the 1981's were only sold in collector sets. Where is your 1981?
I've been studying differences between doubling and machine doubling, and honestly I think I might have a legitimate 79 s ddr.
I have the very first one you described is it worth anything?
I went bank hunting on Friday and got 2 Susan's with 7 Sacajawea and 13 presidential ! wow and both Susan's are narrow rim what are they worth? I also did a video on them as well!
Have a total of 41 1979 Susan B Anthony and three 1980s Susan B Anthony's
Nice explanation for collectors
I just found the 1980s in good condition what should I do with it

1967 Kennedy half dollars were struck in 40% silver. 1964 Kennedy is 90% silver. 1965-1970
in 40% silver.
You forgot the 1981 dollar, I have one in a proof set
Love my SBA collection!
I have this 1979 Susan B and 1982 small pennies
Thanks for your information. I'm new at coin collecting and not sure how to go about getting the coins I have appraised. I have a defected 1980 SBA thin rim. All suggestions appreciated!!!!!
I inherited many coins. I've many 1979P, many wide rim. I'd love to know prices as I have so many filled.
I got 2 1979 & 1980 Susan B. Anthony and a couple other president ones and I’m trying to collect as many dollar coins as I can 😩♥️
I have the full set with 81

I have a Susan liberty coin slim arrow , 1979. But it has few scratches
You forgot about the 1981 susan b anthony dollar. I've got a 1981 type 2 pr70 ultra dcam. Trying to figure out what it might be worth.
I have a 1980 with a squished up looking s, it appears...mint shape.
i guess i will add it to the "needs pro" pile! tyvm...
I put a 20$ into a vending machine and it gave me a small rim 1979 and a wide 1999

I had 1 of those 1980 here in the Philippines.

Why does my 1979 and 1999 both look like the narrow rim when everyone says 1980, 81 & 99 are all wide rim? I have the wide rim variety to compare too, my 1999 looks narrow, is it rare?
Mine 1999 is thin as well.
Thanks
I found 1980 liberty coin what do I do with it save or spend it nice show
we would keep it!
Very Interesting.. TY for sharing bro..Mother found a few of those Dad musta stashed years ago.. a couple narrow, a couple wide.. Theyre all year 2000, though,, Are they special in any way??
Y’all are sooo smart about coi s
I have one of each of the 1979 the same P thin rim and I think the other is the D wide rim
I thought I had what they were saying about the blob mint mark but, it isn't. It's actually a RPM, a D over P. Do you know anything about those?
I have a Susan B Anthony 1999 P print error coin it is missing on reverse one dollar. Never have I seen such a coin. ?
They should gold plate them like other dollar's in the smaller series, presidential, etc. Forces one to immediately handle it differently over a quarter.
very good point!
I got one of these narrow rim ones in a vending machine
Also have 7 Susan B Anthony's 1979 with the thick lip by the date also error coins looking to check on value and where I can sell them
Love JB Coin family
I have 1 1979 thin rim, far date. 3 1979 thick rim, near date. 4 1980 and 3 1999 Suzy B's. I also have one Suzy B 1979 but it is (what appears to be) gold plated, thin rim far date coin. I'd like some info on the gold plated coin. I've not seen one before and I was wondering if it's from a commemorative set of something similar. I would appreciate any comments. Best to all.
I have one with a short rim and I think it’s an error because it doesn’t have a little letter it just has a dot
I have one of these coins
I have one that looks like it was struck on a gold dollar planchet on obverse and the original Silver on the reverse.. it’s crazy. I’d like to share it with someone to see what they think.
@Danny dithomasohi
I love them. Wish I had more.
What about 1981???
I got a 1979 wide rim whats the value?
