My buddy just asked how the heck do you even survive day one on this map?!! I directed him to this video. Perfect timing again! Thank you for always help us learn and how to enjoy this game!
I've been playing ARK for years, since Scorched Earth first came out and I joined my gaming buddies in it. But I still pick up info that 's new to me every time I watch one of your Tips and Tricks videos! On this one, I didn't know Crafting skill only affected blueprints and custom recipes, not crafting from engrams.
As this video is aimed at very fresh ARK players, it might be helpful to mention that almost every action gains XP, but especially harvesting, crafting, killing and taming and XP gain can be boosted by "chests" you can sometimes find in ruins. When you start exploring more of the map, be advised that kapros (the smallish crocodiles mentioned) are much more frequent in cyan colored water, where you can also find silica pearls. They have the annoying tendency not only to unmount you, but will drag you into flocks of terror birds. My trusty argentavis was not fast enough to save me against 7 terror birds, even though I was sporting a sword and had decently high-armor desert cloth gear!
Something I've noticed about Ark as a whole that I think is helpful: it's not a matter of IF you will die in Ark, but a matter of WHEN you will die in Ark. As someone that hates dying in video games, this is a very important lesson when playing Ark.
just had my first go at scorched earth... i literally die from heat death after 2 minutes. sometimes i even spawn in dehydrated state. building a thatch shelter does not protect me. i dont see how i can survive long enough to build weapons to get hide to get better protection against the heat
If you’re not already leveling fortitude, you could tweak with the settings if you’re playing solo to make a single point in fortitude give slightly more value
Honestly in SE you just have to prepare to die more often and you def need fortitude on this map. Before mindwipe I had 80 and could still die from weather conditions it just helps a lot with your rate of food consumption and water consumption, as well as how fast your health actually drains when starving or dehydrated. & at times I just let myself die at the base instead of flying back over to one of my water pumps. I built my starter base too far from water so I have to deal with it all the time lol. Oh also tame a few morellotops, make cactus broth, & keep in mind you can bring a morello to a lake or water vein and its inventory will fill up and store it for later. You can drink from it, or fill up canteens jars water skins etc from its inventory if you need to make recipes or just need a quick drink at the base to stay alive and avoid taking a trip. It doesn’t rain often so water tanks don’t work like they do in the island, you’ll need more and they’ll drain out from time to time depending on how many crops you have or how much cooking you’ve been doing Oh also a really cool trick is to sit the morello on a water vein, since it fills its inv without depleting your well. Throw all the containers you have into morello inv, and use fill inventory water containers feature and it fills every container with the water it can hold. You’ll have to do it a few times depending on how much water you want, but the morello fills up insanely fast and you can end up bringing a ton of water back to base to throw into your water tanks or fill your other morello tops
There is a mesh in the scar that makes it easy to get wyvern eggs....from south to north look for first land bridge over scar, on the left side wall of scar toward desert under bridge fly under huge wall crystal there and you will pop up almost Teleport above that land bridge....hope this helps 55 17
When I load into zone 1 "easy" for the first time in ASA there was a rock golem, raptor and direwolf pretty much on top on me. Pretty much died instantly, welcome to Scorched Earth 😂!
Hey bro i am a very experienced ark player and I already played asa scorched earth and I really liked it now I saw that you have the same spots on scorched that you like as me, the only thing is before asa I never played scorched but I did play now and I really like the map. But to my question I want to start making ark videos my own but I need a good start do you maybe wanna play together a little bit on scorched? I would really like it but I would also understand if you don’t have time.
Level 1 player, you're going to die. The first 30 to 45 minutes should focus on the crafting of foundations. Foundations give you a lot XP. You get more XP from stone foundations, and don't worry about saving any of the foundations. Craft and throw away. You'll get to level 30 quickly. This is one of the best ways for me to get a good start.
I completely forgot about how brutal it is to just survive when starting out on this map. I died like 6 times in a row to just the heat. Forget the raptors and terror birds. I love/hate the difficulty on this map.
Is anyone having having major PS5 crashes? I cant doing anything without Ark crashing on me. Can’t even look at my engrams without crash. Oh and bonus I keep losing my save characters every time I try to ascend off the island.
Dude, how are we supposed to get to the smithy stage? All the metal is atop extremely hazardous mountains surrounded by hordes of pigs, terror birds, wolves etc. The best thing I can ride without a smithy is a wolf. I can't get anywhere on this map because of the shitty metal placement.
On official PvP you will struggle more because of other players will kill you and your tames. Start over and you will struggle to find another high level again
How the hell are you spawning without deadly heatstroke. I literally spawn with heatstroke dying and I can't even afford time to do what you're doing now. I just die standing still in the shade.
You can hit the cactus to refill your water on this map.

Good Morning Phlinger and Phamily. Just wanted to let you know these types of videos help everyone so much, thank you for your time in making these.
Thanks Phlinger! I’m sure that these videos help a lot of people!
I feel like there are more ants on this map than on ASE, and it drove me nuts early game
Amazing video! Great help for new players😊
hay Phlinger very helpful thanks.
His let's plays are great. They're entertaining and they help out a lot with a game like this.
Don't a PS5 yet but I'm all ready like the loot marker on the map

Yeah, I've NEVER found an "easy" spot to spawn in Scorched...and if it's not a raptor or wolf eating your face, it'll be the heat.

2:37 I have nothing but sabertooths there lol. My whole north literally ate 32 lives lmao

Pretty much x2...redundancy...

Will you be doing a base location guide soon? Thanks so much for the info!

i just died 524 times in just one hours honestly, hopefuly this tips worked
I did not know that either haha!

Oh and bonus I keep losing my save characters every time I try to ascend off the island.
I'm on PC with an AMD Radeon GPU and had a couple of odd crashes, so I feel your pain...
I’m ur 600th like

I've had illness less frustrating than this map
I don't think it's possible to do a hard-core 100 days.
Have*
need coffee?
I don’t think this warrants entire beginners tips, if a Newby starts scorched before Island, that’s their problem.
Don’t watch the video then freak 😂
Good thing no one asked you then.
Scorched earth is horrible for beginner's

NOT EVEN GONNA ADD KETCHUP!🧐🤧🦠💊
