Relief is my main feeling , i just hope Sunderland supporters do just that by curbing their cynicism and getting behind the new man. Ha'way the lads!!

Thanks for the video, Ben. Nice overview.
So happy to finally have the new man installed. Given our (very) fickle fan base, I wish him lots of luck.
Realistically, a top ten finish should be at least doable. Perhaps top 8? Play offs, depending how things look by Christmas, would be a bonus. Not expecting anything higher at this stage.
If Le Bris hits the ground running and KLD and Speakman genuinely match his ambition with some decent new players (and importantly a mix of youth and experience) we could take advantage of the fact three weaker teams have dropped down from the Prem with Leeds likely to be favourites to return. Possibly Portsmouth as a wild card but I frankly don't see any repetition of what Ipswich did this year. Well done btw!
Personally, I would be happy with a good season, a top 10 finish and a much-improved attacking team, sufficiently strengthened and creatively exciting to watch. Then kick on and go for automatics in 25/26.

You'd think after managing Les Renards he'd be going to Leicester next.

Hi Benjamin - missed this at time we finally signed RLB. Will Still was probably first choice, but I'm so glad the ginger hype merchant dumped us for better money/offer. I didn't know anything about RLB either, but thought his coaching skills would be useful with our young team. 2 months on, it seems like he's got Sunderland reprising his start with L'Orient in 2022 Maybe we deserved a lucky break after signing Michael Beale. He's a bit like Alex Neil/Tony Mowbray in some ways but with a major tactics/strategy coaching upgrade, so perfect for us. I don't think we'll drop off as our squad is a lot better than L'Orient in terms of respective leagues - we'll know more after ten games. Enjoyed the article - especially during footballing desert of the international break. Cheers. Jim

Stade Rennais is Rennes in Brittany they play in Roazhon Park , Camavinga comes from there, Stade Lavallois is Laval who had their best time in the 80s, les Merlus is the nickname of Lorient, it's a fish (hake or pollock depending on the translator :p )

I only know of this guy because as a cherries fan I have a vested interest in Lorient due to the pyramid. He did a good job initially but lost some of his best players to transfers in his second season & then struggled. They picked up form towards the end but was too little too late & they were relegated.

Personally I think Sunderland did the right thing and just had a good look around if he fits there model then he may well give Sunderland a second wind . Norwich just got new head coach so all these new head coaches will be interesting see if they can do it in the championship 🤔

My thoughts on l don't know much about him so i obviously going to give him a chance. My worry is tho board tho tbh and what they want him to do if they want him to make the top 6 give him players that will help him do that not 18/19 years olds that nkt ready but might be good in 2/3 years time if u get what i mean.

Speakman (director of football?) Buys all players controls budget/recruitment..Head Coach just coaches players given to him...Speakman thinks he knows more than Pep about Football...he's delusional..

Agree, Speakman would love to be a manager of the club, but so far he’s doing shite he’s a university graduate in business studies and all he’s interested in was making a few quid for the club, but now he’s got his feet under the table with KLDs right hand man he now thinks he’s got control of everything. Reggie needs to get it right within a couple of months if not the fans are gonna try their best to get Speakman out.

Ben, will you be doing a video on Rob Edwards staying at Luton. A 4 year contract, apparently. It would be nice to hear your thoughts.

Good news. Maybe if Luton was a bit more ambitious then they might be a PL side for one more season. Can see them as one of the faves for promotion in the Championship.

We couldn't be more ambitious than we were. Injuries destroyed our chance of staying up. Having 10+ injuries in January/ February crippled us. If we can keep some of the players that are wanted and buy a couple of gems, we have a chance.

Ben feel free to mock..i dont foresee a good ending here. The positives, i don't predict him to be worst in the league, that will stay with Rooney and i do predict him to be better than Beale! I know i have high standards.
