- I'm super excited to build my own set of Leica R lenses for cinema, and here's the first one. I LOVE the Summicron-R 50mm. It's much easier to modify for cinema use than I thought (at least with the Simmod stuff I ordered).

This is extremely calming
A great lens! I’ve got one as well that I scored at a thrift store for $4.50 😊 I also want to cinemod mine, but need to get up the courage for two more mods… Declicking the aperture, and chopping off that rear piece that gets in the way when mounting on a speedbooster. Thanks for the inspiration!
What size filter thread did you have to get for the lens? I just got a 50mm and cannot find the right filter thread. Also what size gear ring did you get? The info would be so appreciated!
Love it, very clean upgrade! Would you mind sharing how much this was to put together with all the mods and the original lens?
I got the 50mm cron for $420 shipped and I believe all of the upgrades from Simmod (Ef conversion, metal focus gears, front ring, custom lens cap) was $200 so maybe somewhere around $460 after everything
@@jakehayden998 Super affordable!
Sometimes i want to cinemod my canon Fd's but then i remember i live in a third world country and that is waaaay expensive. Great videos as always. :)
