They were on Facedown, a Christian label that had mostly Christian punk, hardcore and metal bands. The label was founded by Jason Dunn, the drummer for a hardcore Christian band called No Innocent Victim (they were really good too). I’ve been a fan of Sleeping Giant for a long time as well as other bands on that label, spite not following the Christian belief myself. Proof that music can still connect us regardless of our personal beliefs and culture.
As a Christian who turned to live a lukewarm life, after hearing "Swing open your ancient doors...", my heart opened. I have witnessed several doors open in my life, and 3 of the 4 have closed. I have been living my life lately as if I had closed that 1st door. Now I am left in question of this present moment. Will I "Swing open your ancient doors" and "Receive your King"?
I’ve tried with Christian rap, rock, and sometimes I find myself going back to the secular. However, finding bands like Sleeping Giants, For Today, and Bloodlines has changed my perspective on that hard core. I’ve listened to Hatebreed and bands like Blood for Blood but I can’t get down with those lyrics anymore. The best part about our faith is the older you get, the more you thirst for that relationship. This will sound weird, but I love those days when I don’t pray, or don’t read the word, cause I realize in a day or two just how much I miss spending time with my savior. Jesus you hold the crown, so I’ll bow down.
True! I have deleted most of my secular music save for a few...as long as their message is decent, but I definitely enjoy music that puts me in touch with God. I feel more whole when I listen to music that exalts our Savior.

I came across Sleeping Giant shortly after giving my life to Jesus 7 yrs ago, I was equally impacted by this song! Praise God there is music like this and HolyName! Marcus Rogers is another good artist who lifts the name of Jesus high! Devin check out Victory by Sleeping Giant!

just to let you know, from experience, Sleeping Giant shows are one if the the only shows where i go to, as a non Christiaan, and everyone there is throwing down like a regular hardcore show. The only difference, from other mosh heavy shows ive been to, the stage presence and overall energy, is at peak. Tommy, the vocalist, just brings so much to the table when it comes to how hard he goes on stage. We still be spin kicking though lol.
