You mentioned your motto “To bloom where you’re planted “ to me in a comment response not that long ago: I shared it with my son who is in a very difficult situation. It has become our motto. If we can’t shine where we have been placed in life, how can we shine anywhere? Your videos are fun to watch, but also inspiring. Thank you for taking the time and effort to share them with us. Also a side note: my son got to experience Navajo hospitality on a camping trip a few years back in the Painted Dessert. They taught my sons group a song about enjoying and living life as they took them on a trail ride. My son came home singing that song, and will never forget that amazing experience. You are blessed to be part of such a noble gracious people.

I'm amazed when you hook those big a$$ trailers. I call for help to tow my little 8X10. I love the horses. Funny story: I was horse crazy growing up, All I wanted was my own horse. Well, my dad went to an auction one night and came home with a blood bay gelding. 16 hand. Thinking it was a saddle horse, I jumped on bareback. SURPRISE it was a retired race horse. I nearly flew backwards when he kicked it into high gear. Hee haw we were off.. My dad was a little surprised himself when he learned what he a purchased. I'm 70 now and can still feel my horses under me. I enjoy watching you studs when you turn them out. And all those pretty babies when you bring them in. I always find a dozen that I like. Keep up your good work with your content. You make interesting stories and you have a real talent in your story telling.
I enjoy your work with the horses and how you use the stallions as well as your mares. Enjoy when you move the livestock to the water trough. You and Henson keep doing what you do. You do ride like you started as a child 💪

The work is ever present, relentless and challenging, frustrating and at times so exhausting BUT the rewards deep in one’s soul. You can call it a “piece of mind”, maybe even a “connection of your self to natures wonder”. Those sights of early morning sunrises, the smells of EARTH, WIND AND RAIN, your own rise to the challenge of the day, how you have to often improvise your way into solutions and the self reward of “I figured that out” and we made it work. Those upside down days that you also experience build on your appreciation of those good days. Your priorities become so straightforward, so focused and much more simplistic…it’s just a different lifestyle. Your daily routine is definitely “off the grid”, your remote and isolated, alone but independent…self-sufficient and not always productive to where your happy about the ending you worked toward. I call back on my memories of my younger years on a ranch in the Snake River Country of the Northwest and smile at it all….the good, the bad and the ugly. The videos of your families daily lives are greatly appreciated and reach far beyond the obvious…thank you.
It’s amazing about about how they used the Navajo language could never be broken in the war I have many Navajo brands great people
Wow ….you do not look forty, you look in your twenties. Amazing. I understand where you are coming from, a similar situation happened to me where I had to accept my fate, “bloom where I was planted” love that saying. Yes, been working cattle with horses for 12 years now and absolutelyI love it! Once I accepted it it was all natural for me. If I had to do it all again I would. I was really lost before I came here and didn’t know it.

My favorite video. Love it. You are so knowledgeable and so beautiful inside and out. When Henson looks at you there is so much love in his eyes. You can also see the appreciation in Jerry's eyes and the way he talks to you. Girl many of us would love your life. At 71 I am sadly past that. You rock.

BTW, I've lived in Phoenix for about 60 years. I'm from Vermont. I love this state and have been all over it for years. I was in the XRAY machine business, installing and repairing. I've even installed machines on "THE RES".

As a New Zealand Farmer love to hear your history. We finished lambs on a mixture of irrigation land on the plains, which is several types of clovers, ryegrass, plantain, plus lucerne, and foliage crops rape and kale. Plus very old pasture in the higher rainfall foothills of Canterbury, South Island New Zealand , our blocks are 18kms apart. Farming 176ha so tiny, but very intensive, we fatten several thousand lambs, but always around the same number of livestock, as lambs are finished each week, more arrive. We finish many different breeds, some take several weeks and some take several months. Our winters are very wet and hard frosts in the foothills plus sometimes snow but only stays on the ground for a few days and on the plains cold and half the rainfall. Summers can be very dry on the plains block, and very rarely can we not make hay on the foothills block, last year was that year. Summer is November to February and we are making hay and balage at the moment, we had a very dry summer last season and a very wet one this season.

The same with me my horse got struck by lightning 🌩 June of last year and I have been horse less trying to find another my pasture is so empty 😢

Not sure how good of a teacher your husband is, but he is obviously good with horses. The casual watcher would never understand how impressive it is watching someone open a wire gap on a green stud horse. I’m no expert, but that was impressive to me.

I don't know what it is about horses. I'm not a horse person. One day I just came across horses and horsemanship videos. I thought they were interesting and started watching more and more to this day. I still don't own a horse, but I have learned quite a bit watching horsemanship videos.

My family (the Nez family) used to go to church with the Winns and the Garners. We, my 4 siblings and I, all grew up and moved to Tucson to continue our schooling and attempt to pursue our careers. I always wondered what the Winn family were up to, nowadays. Most days, I do miss the ranch life.

Navajo is a difficult language to master. My granddaughters have Navajo roots and lots of family in Gallup. I am happy to be welcomed into this warm wonderful family. Thanks for your post I intend to share with my aspiring granders. Little sponges will absorb all you have said. Also, the time consuming work you put in on these videos is appreciated, it doesn’t ‘just’ happen.

Really enjoyed this video. I watch Allen on the Farm on Route 66, as well as Amry Palmer, Allen’s cousin who is also in the “horse business “. I have learned a bunch watching these videos although at my old age I don’t anticipate using that knowledge. As a little kid I grew up around my grand parents farm and since they didn’t have horses my cousin Patty and I were stuck either riding the milk cows , too tall, or the pigs. I realized that real ponies don’t go oink but back then it was our only choice and it was fun. We made a tiny rodeo arena with one “chute” and had a great time being a rodeo cowboy and cowgirl!

I really enjoy your channel. I never would have thought you have not been barrel racing the majority of your life. You and your husband have a great way with your animals. My 9 year old just got her first quarter horse and did her first expo last week. Keep the videos coming they are very entertaining. A history of a ranch would be great.

I enjoy watching the lifestyle and it surprises me that you came into horses as an adult because you seem like a natural which shows how much work you have invested in learning.
