jimin said in an interview with yoongi (suga/agust d) in a talk show is that this song is about feeling like you had fun but you're actually suffering from depression. to get away from the pain through escapism (in this case as its implied is by drinking excessively). so yeah its not really about a relationship with someone else but more like a relationship with himself i think. this song is in his album named FACE which he said that it means to confront/facing yourself, your own reflection (as implied in the lyrics as well with the reflection verse).

Jimin loves to perform in concerts, and BTS tour was canceled due to COVID in 2020. There is a Like Crazy dance performance if you like. Jimin's Set Me Free MV was released 1 week prior to Like Crazy and shows a different side of Jimin and awesome choreography. The BTS members are focusing on their solo careers as they go one by one into the military. They have done solo albums/ mixed tapes (the 3 rappers) for free prior, and released solo songs (the vocalists) prior as well. Actually the guy with the bun (sorry new to the channel I didn’t catch your names yet 😅) is right. The song is about escapism. During the pandemic Jimin went through a hard time and felt depressed. He used having fun (including drinking as a way to run away from his depression, fooling himself into believing he was ok. So yea It has a happy beat but the lyrics are very sad. The genre is synthpop, a genre that started in the 80’s (yes Modern Talking is a good reference amongst others). At the end, the voice actually says “Alone again. What’s the point?” (instead of home again) - which leads into the next track called “Alone” - I think loneliness and isolation play a huge part, since jimin said this album chronicles his emotions through the pandemic. Written during Covid when everything shut down, Jimin admitted drinking a bit, and “Lost in the Lights” could mean being back with ARMYs in concert. There seemed like no end to lockdown during the pandemic and he mentioned he went a little crazy.

Jimin album was meant to be listened to in order. It tells a story about what he was feeling during the pandemic. It's only a few songs, but it's an amazing album.

So this song Like Crazy, could also be during that time, thinking back while laying his head down, on table in that depressing small room, dreaming of the better times in the past, when he was free to enjoy himself, as well as being with someone or with friends, or even around ppl in general, being able to be free to go out & party. 11:47 thats a great interpretation. Cuz face was written when jimin was having a hard time during the pandemic and they couldnt perform. All the members were having a hard time with it but jimin's coping mechanism was different, he distances himself from people and would get drunk and lose himself in pleasurable experiences. He said himself in an interview in an interview on suga's show suchwita that the song is about escapism, those moments when you lose yourself in good times and you think you are having fun and doing fine but deep down you are depressed as hell and he went through that during the pandemic. I really recommend you guys watch suchwita suga has different members come on and talk about their releases and a lot of other things i think you would enjoy it and find it fascinating

There are two great versions, the official MV on BlackLabel and then an acoustic version which is a different arrangement but super cool. 💜 Also, what I like to say about Jimin's voice is that he can express emotion and vulnerability and its quite unique! Jimins entire album Face is about him coping with stuff that happened during the pandemic. He made the album by going and living at producer pdoggs House. Pdogg IS THE BTS Producer, he's been with them since day 1. They wrote the album based on jimins emotions. All the songs in the album are a different genre.
thanks for your reaction, Jimin is a awesome artist, you got right on point. he expressed how lost he felt during the pandemic and found scape on drinking, he missed to be the group activities , he also said on one interview that the dream he doesn't want to wake up is BTS, he wants to stay in the group for as long as possible. but he snapped out it with the help of the group members and as the his other song he set free himself. so check SET ME FREE PT2, totally different feel and genre, like day and night from Like Crazy, but just as good. We are sooooo proud of Jimin.
I think one key take the mv adds to the song is the fact that Jimin is always alone even as he hangs in a club with loads of people. He never finds anyone to dance with. Rather he dances by himself as others dance paired up. There is even kissing in the background but for Jimin no matter how he at times seems to be having fun mud pours from the walls onto the floor where he walks. Jimin literally sits on the floor of a club bathroom as if any person is likely to be alone in a club bathroom. Pair all this with "I wanna stay in this dream, don't save me' and the ending "what's the point" and the messaging built into this track becomes clearer if not the actual motivation.

I did think he was talking to his drink because the theme centered a lot on drinking but i also agree with the reactor on the left who said about jimin wanting to stay in the dream (of BTS). The thing about this song is it can be interpreted in so many ways or it could just be a simple party song, its just how you want to connect to it but for Jimin, he has said it was a time during covid where he felt disconnected with his relationships, he was lonely and did a lot of drinking as an escape but he was determined to break free from it (Set me free pt.2) and it looks like he did but theres still a blue hue so im not sure what this could mean. Jimin's song is actually a personification of his own emotions like in Lie, Serindipity and Filter. Except when his song is addressed to Army like Promise and Letter to Army, Jimin would usually be referring to his ownself, talking to himself as if he is looking at the mirror, like a genius poet does. In this song, Jimin is expressing his emotion at time of the pandemic and the impact it has on him where all that he wanted was not to wake from his happy thoughts (daydreaming under the darkness of the night). As soon as he wakes up, the happy thoughts ceases and the reality of dreadful loneliness starts to bite him like pinpricking all over him. At the end of the day, there is no amount of drunkeness (comforting escape from reality) can remove the turmoil from within.

The 80's synth pop music could give us a happy party vibe, but the first time I watch the MV, I was hit by his loneliness in the middle of the crowd. And the more I watch it, the more I feel the sadness throught the party time. "Lost in the light" , as he expressed his feelings. Jimin has said that many of the songs convey what he was going through, his thoughts, his feelings, his emotions as well as despair during the pandemic in the last few years. Jimin struggled badly during the pandemic when live shows were shut down because he live for the shows and probably defined his person and himself as an artist from the live shows. Feeling lost and empty, the only thing you can do is to get yourself drunk for even just for moment to forget the painful feeling. You enter into a dreamlike state where everything just feels alright and you don't want to wake up coz reality is painful. BUt you can't escape reality forever. We can all relate the feelings jimin might have in writing this song. And there is a lot to say about the MV itself, the symbolism of the mud (on the wall and on jimin's hand when he wake up) , the girl with black hair mirroring Jimin (the choregraphy version reinforce that point) , and the fact that , after Suga's "Shadow" , RM "persona" and J Hope "Ego", we meet a new part of one SELF here, according to Carl Jung's analytical psychology : the "Anima". As always with BTS, and specially Jimin, there's a lot of layers. You can enjoy songs on its own without diving deep but if you wanna to hear the story they are telling, you need to analysis the lyrics, and watch the MV beyond the surface (and you did a good job, guys ! I enjoy your reaction) The Face album is really a masterpiece and depicted how Jimin goes throught not only his depression during the pandemic, but also (that's my opinion) his insecurities/doubts/personal inner struggles. He actually learned to sing and acoustic version in Korean. Jimin is the ultimate performer. He commands a stage life he was born just to perform. Michael would be proud. They used to be able to go anywhere in public cuz army usually respect their privacy and try not to acknowledge them if they are not on official schedules. They have travelled to many places without being inconvenienced. But nowadays it has gotten a bit more tricky. But V was able to enjoy his time at a jazz bar recently and noone seemed to be disturbing him. But tbf the other patrons were of older age grp.

He also briefly mentioned how he spent a lot of time drinking for a while to cope with all that. He really struggled for a while. Definitely I think "lost in the lights" refers to being on stage surrounded by ARMY bombs (lighsticks all the fans hold at concerts), as well as can apply to being lost in the lights of a party or club, literally or metaphorically. Like Crazy is middle of the album, and his other title track release was Set Me Free pt 2., which was the final song, and illustrates a brighter outlook. SMFp2 is a banger with killer choreo in the MV, so definitely check that out! And whether on your own or as a reaction, listening to the whole album (just 6 tracks) start to finish while reading lyrics gives you great insight into Jimin's whole story. (Oh and the album ends with a hidden track only found on the CD, called Letter, and it's a fan song for ARMY.)

There are several layers to this song. One of them is that he said he took inspiration from the Like Crazy movie, which is about a relationship that gets tested by a forced separation because of external factors. He also said this album was about his feelings during the pandemic, so I'd say that's one external factor causing distance between him and his relationships. But I also don't think it's a stretch the say their mandatory military enlistment is another such external factor that he would have been thinking about during this time and anticipating. Enlistment will force a separation between him and fans, but also the other BTS members and his other friends and family. I can't imagine it's easy. Jimin also said in interviews that the "dream" in Like Crazy's lyrics is BTS, so you're pretty spot thinking this is about their take two and him wanting to continue as a group.

Jimin's spoken about how this song is about escapism - & the way I interpret it is how when people use escapism as an avoidance coping mechanism, whether it's alcohol, drugs, sex, going out partying all night, or anything that could be adverse in excess. But that period when the one is coming down from the literal or proverbial high, & they know it's harmful but cling to it anyways coz the idea of facing reality seems more daunting. there is a hint of relationship but its more like casual like club night life where people use each other to forget which can encompass brief relationships if you know what i mean. also theres a English version of the song and the lyrics change to "shes says baby come and follow me theres not a bad thing here tonight save your reasons for later stay with me a little while" and "can you help me numb the pain" so like that could explain why you get relationship vibes. but its just not a serious one.

During COVID, Jimin said that he was feeling lost and depressed. He started to drink to get drunk. He said he thought that he was having a great time, but then he had to straighten up for a huge BTS concert in Busan, South Korea. He realized that his drinking was to cover up his depression.
6:13 jimin has gone clubbing before at the height of their popularity a lot of fans tend to leave them alone when they are not on official schedule although there are times when that's not possible but for the most part the members do keep a low profile and army tends to leave them to it. A quick heads up: not everyone who's a bts fan is army. There are toxic subgroups of bts fans that army doesn't recognize as part of the fandom but who would claim that they are. Solo stans: they claim to only like one member of the group and Hate on all the others and tend to throw hate around for to anyone who says anything about said member including the member himself (they're unhinged). Army considers them antis (often times antis will disguise as a solo stan to cause confusion and chaos) Sassaengs/stalker fans: they follow the members around and everywhere and they disclose locations, try to get into hotel rooms and do all kinds of crazy shit. Army does not tolerate these people so do the members. Fansites: fans who follow the members around with huge ass cameras taking pictures that they will later sell or post on their websites or social media account in order to get engagement or traffic. They're like paparazzi and army hates them. Mantis/manager antis: fans who think they can tell members how to manage their careers often someone online who claims they have some knowledge of music or pr and insists that the members make the music they want and market their music the way they want. Army cannot stand these people either. Antis: they hate bts but always tune into bts and army conversations. They stream the music to hate on it, watch the videos to hate on it, watch interviews to hate on them, go to shows to hate on them, they create accounts disguised as army just to act crazy and give the fandom a bad name. The ultimate hater. There are more subgroups but what you need to know is that these are not army but they consider themselves part of the bts fandom and those toxic subgroups tend to make life harder for the members when they try to go about their normal lives. Army denounce those behaviors and the unspoken but widely known and respected rule in the fandom is that you don't approach the members when you see them in the wild and you don't disclose your encounters with them until they've cleared the area and have left the country where you met them and/or have posted about it on their social media. That way you avoid getting them mobbed and you let them enjoy their time. We often act like we don't recognize them when we see them in the wild and the members all make sure to thank us for it so. Yeah this was long don't know if you will read it but I hope this answers your questions

I forget if it was last year or the year before but it was Halloween and covid quarantine had been eased so people could actually celebrate. Some people died because there was a stampede basically, I'm not sure if this was officially determined but one of the theories was that some people thought they saw a BTS member and people started shoving to get closer. Imagine the guilt you'd feel if that was true. Jimin said the song is about how he felt during covid. The whole album is him working his way through his low period during the pandemic. 💜

jimin said in an interview with yoongi (suga/agust d) in a talk show is that this song is about feeling like you had fun but you're actually suffering from depression. to get away from the pain through escapism (in this case as its implied is by drinking excessively). so yeah its not really about a relationship with someone else but more like a relationship with himself i think. this song is in his album named FACE which he said that it means to confront/facing yourself, your own reflection (as implied in the lyrics as well with the reflection verse).

Actually the guy with the bun (sorry new to the channel I didn’t catch your names yet 😅) is right. The song is about escapism. During the pandemic Jimin went through a hard time and felt depressed. He used having fun (including drinking as a way to run away from his depression, fooling himself into believing he was ok. So yea It has a happy beat but the lyrics are very sad. The genre is synthpop, a genre that started in the 80’s (yes Modern Talking is a good reference amongst others).

Edit: there can be different interpretations as to what the girl represents. But it looks like she symbolises the dream (mud in the kitchen) You can see her muddy hand grabbing him to pull him into the dream) and when he comes back at the end (wakes up from the dream, back to reality) he has a bit of that mud on his hand.

At the end, the voice actually says “Alone again. What’s the point?” (instead of home again) - which leads into the next track called “Alone” - I think loneliness and isolation play a huge part, since jimin said this album chronicles his emotions through the pandemic. 11:47 thats a great interpretation. Cuz face was written when jimin was having a hard time during the pandemic and they couldnt perform. All the members were having a hard time with it but jimin's coping mechanism was different, he distances himself from people and would get drunk and lose himself in pleasurable experiences. He said himself in an interview in an interview on suga's show suchwita that the song is about escapism, those moments when you lose yourself in good times and you think you are having fun and doing fine but deep down you are depressed as hell and he went through that during the pandemic. I really recommend you guys watch suchwita suga has different members come on and talk about their releases and a lot of other things i think you would enjoy it and find it fascinating

thanks for your reaction, Jimin is a awesome artist, you got right on point. he expressed how lost he felt during the pandemic and found scape on drinking, he missed to be the group activities , he also said on one interview that the dream he doesn't want to wake up is BTS, he wants to stay in the group for as long as possible. but he snapped out it with the help of the group members and as the his other song he set free himself. so check SET ME FREE PT2, totally different feel and genre, like day and night from Like Crazy, but just as good. We are sooooo proud of Jimin.
I think one key take the mv adds to the song is the fact that Jimin is always alone even as he hangs in a club with loads of people. He never finds anyone to dance with. Rather he dances by himself as others dance paired up. There is even kissing in the background but for Jimin no matter how he at times seems to be having fun mud pours from the walls onto the floor where he walks. Jimin literally sits on the floor of a club bathroom as if any person is likely to be alone in a club bathroom. Pair all this with "I wanna stay in this dream, don't save me' and the ending "what's the point" and the messaging built into this track becomes clearer if not the actual motivation.

I did think he was talking to his drink because the theme centered a lot on drinking but i also agree with the reactor on the left who said about jimin wanting to stay in the dream (of BTS). The thing about this song is it can be interpreted in so many ways or it could just be a simple party song, its just how you want to connect to it but for Jimin, he has said it was a time during covid where he felt disconnected with his relationships, he was lonely and did a lot of drinking as an escape but he was determined to break free from it (Set me free pt.2) and it looks like he did but theres still a blue hue so im not sure what this could mean. Jimin's song is actually a personification of his own emotions like in Lie, Serindipity and Filter. Except when his song is addressed to Army like Promise and Letter to Army, Jimin would usually be referring to his ownself, talking to himself as if he is looking at the mirror, like a genius poet does. In this song, Jimin is expressing his emotion at time of the pandemic and the impact it has on him where all that he wanted was not to wake from his happy thoughts (daydreaming under the darkness of the night). As soon as he wakes up, the happy thoughts ceases and the reality of dreadful loneliness starts to bite him like pinpricking all over him. At the end of the day, there is no amount of drunkeness (comforting escape from reality) can remove the turmoil from within.

The 80's synth pop music could give us a happy party vibe, but the first time I watch the MV, I was hit by his loneliness in the middle of the crowd. And the more I watch it, the more I feel the sadness throught the party time. "Lost in the light" , as he expressed his feelings.
Jimin has said that many of the songs convey what he was going through, his thoughts, his feelings, his emotions as well as despair during the pandemic in the last few years. Jimin struggled badly during the pandemic when live shows were shut down because he live for the shows and probably defined his person and himself as an artist from the live shows. Feeling lost and empty, the only thing you can do is to get yourself drunk for even just for moment to forget the painful feeling. You enter into a dreamlike state where everything just feels alright and you don't want to wake up coz reality is painful. BUt you can't escape reality forever. We can all relate the feelings jimin might have in writing this song.
And there is a lot to say about the MV itself, the symbolism of the mud (on the wall and on jimin's hand when he wake up) , the girl with black hair mirroring Jimin (the choregraphy version reinforce that point) , and the fact that , after Suga's "Shadow" , RM "persona" and J Hope "Ego", we meet a new part of one SELF here, according to Carl Jung's analytical psychology : the "Anima".
As always with BTS, and specially Jimin, there's a lot of layers. You can enjoy songs on its own without diving deep but if you wanna to hear the story they are telling, you need to analysis the lyrics, and watch the MV beyond the surface (and you did a good job, guys ! I enjoy your reaction)
The Face album is really a masterpiece and depicted how Jimin goes throught not only his depression during the pandemic, but also (that's my opinion) his insecurities/doubts/personal inner struggles. If you listen to the songs in the order of the track, it all make sense.

They used to be able to go anywhere in public cuz army usually respect their privacy and try not to acknowledge them if they are not on official schedules. They have travelled to many places without being inconvenienced. But nowadays it has gotten a bit more tricky. But V was able to enjoy his time at a jazz bar recently and noone seemed to be disturbing him. But tbf the other patrons were of older age grp.

Great observations! Jimin said his album Face tells a chronological story of his time during the pandemic, when they couldn't perform live, their world tour was canceled, and that's also when they would have made their decisions about the pending group break. He also briefly mentioned how he spent a lot of time drinking for a while to cope with all that. He really struggled for a while. Definitely I think "lost in the lights" refers to being on stage surrounded by ARMY bombs (lighsticks all the fans hold at concerts), as well as can apply to being lost in the lights of a party or club, literally or metaphorically.
Like Crazy is middle of the album, and his other title track release was Set Me Free pt 2., which was the final song, and illustrates a brighter outlook. SMFp2 is a banger with killer choreo in the MV, so definitely check that out! And whether on your own or as a reaction, listening to the whole album (just 6 tracks) start to finish while reading lyrics gives you great insight into Jimin's whole story. (Oh and the album ends with a hidden track only found on the CD, called Letter, and it's a fan song for ARMY.)

There are several layers to this song. One of them is that he said he took inspiration from the Like Crazy movie, which is about a relationship that gets tested by a forced separation because of external factors. He also said this album was about his feelings during the pandemic, so I'd say that's one external factor causing distance between him and his relationships. But I also don't think it's a stretch the say their mandatory military enlistment is another such external factor that he would have been thinking about during this time and anticipating. Enlistment will force a separation between him and fans, but also the other BTS members and his other friends and family. I can't imagine it's easy.
Jimin also said in interviews that the "dream" in Like Crazy's lyrics is BTS, so you're pretty spot thinking this is about their take two and him wanting to continue as a group.

like crazy is inspired by a movie with the same name. Its about escapism. He was in a really dark place during covid time so he used to drink to escape the feeling of loneliness. Like crazy is a dark song well most of the songs of jimin are dark.

there is a hint of relationship but its more like casual like club night life where people use each other to forget which can encompass brief relationships if you know what i mean. also theres a English version of the song and the lyrics change to "shes says baby come and follow me theres not a bad thing here tonight save your reasons for later stay with me a little while" and "can you help me numb the pain" so like that could explain why you get relationship vibes. but its just not a serious one.

During COVID, Jimin said that he was feeling lost and depressed. He started to drink to get drunk. He said he thought that he was having a great time, but then he had to straighten up for a huge BTS concert in Busan, South Korea. He realized that his drinking was to cover up his depression.

6:13 jimin has gone clubbing before at the height of their popularity a lot of fans tend to leave them alone when they are not on official schedule although there are times when that's not possible but for the most part the members do keep a low profile and army tends to leave them to it.
A quick heads up: not everyone who's a bts fan is army. There are toxic subgroups of bts fans that army doesn't recognize as part of the fandom but who would claim that they are.
Solo stans: they claim to only like one member of the group and Hate on all the others and tend to throw hate around for to anyone who says anything about said member including the member himself (they're unhinged). Army considers them antis (often times antis will disguise as a solo stan to cause confusion and chaos)
Sassaengs/stalker fans: they follow the members around and everywhere and they disclose locations, try to get into hotel rooms and do all kinds of crazy shit. Army does not tolerate these people so do the members.
Fansites: fans who follow the members around with huge ass cameras taking pictures that they will later sell or post on their websites or social media account in order to get engagement or traffic. They're like paparazzi and army hates them.
Mantis/manager antis: fans who think they can tell members how to manage their careers often someone online who claims they have some knowledge of music or pr and insists that the members make the music they want and market their music the way they want. Army cannot stand these people either.
Antis: they hate bts but always tune into bts and army conversations. They stream the music to hate on it, watch the videos to hate on it, watch interviews to hate on them, go to shows to hate on them, they create accounts disguised as army just to act crazy and give the fandom a bad name. The ultimate hater.
There are more subgroups but what you need to know is that these are not army but they consider themselves part of the bts fandom and those toxic subgroups tend to make life harder for the members when they try to go about their normal lives. Army denounce those behaviors and the unspoken but widely known and respected rule in the fandom is that you don't approach the members when you see them in the wild and you don't disclose your encounters with them until they've cleared the area and have left the country where you met them and/or have posted about it on their social media. That way you avoid getting them mobbed and you let them enjoy their time. We often act like we don't recognize them when we see them in the wild and the members all make sure to thank us for it so. Yeah this was long don't know if you will read it but I hope this answers your questions

I forget if it was last year or the year before but it was Halloween and covid quarantine had been eased so people could actually celebrate. Some people died because there was a stampede basically, I'm not sure if this was officially determined but one of the theories was that some people thought they saw a BTS member and people started shoving to get closer. Imagine the guilt you'd feel if that was true.
Jimin said the song is about how he felt during covid. The whole album is him working his way through his low period during the pandemic.
