Jimin is a very introspective person. While he is always there for others he tends to try to figure his problems out on his own. It was a breakthrough for him to actually share his depression with his members.
Appreciate your recognition of BTS's cheering for each other's success. They are special.

About your question why would someone like Jimin, who's famous and loved by millions would feel so alone to the point of nearly breaking down.
Is actually quite simple. Unlike in the west were celebrities don't have much connection with their fans.
BTS is quite the opposite, cause they mostly spend their time and energy with their fans so it's inevitable that both parties would feel attached.
So when the pandemic happened, they were in a bad state. Like they couldn't comprehend what just happened.
In an interview in Suchwita, Suga & RM had talked about what they had felt at the start of pandemic.
RM said he literally went through all different stages of grief and Suga was pretty much in denial of what had happened.
They had prepared so much at that time for their tour cause it was supposed to be their biggest and last tour before enlisting.
But due to the pandemic everything they had prepared for were cancelled. So you can just imagine what they feel.
It's like their world has stopped, mind you it was the start of pandemic so everything was uncertain at that point, you can't even tell if it's end of the world, or would you be infected then die or still live? was there even a cure? lastly, would everything return to normal?
Those questions keeps looming in everyone's head. Imagine not meeting your friends and love ones for a very long time, you can't even go any activities outside and have fun because of the quarantine.
So to the majority of people the pandemic negative impacts their life.
Except of course, to the people like me who don't really go outside and doesn't have any friend.
Anyways, so for BTS, the Pandemic is pretty much a disaster considering they live most of their life creating music, having concerts and performing infront of millions of people. So the thought of not be able to perform ever again is terrifying to say the least.
J-Hope had elaborated in a BTS song called Dis-ease, that he felt so uneasy just 'resting' during pandemic cause it feels like he constantly need to do something in order to feel at ease.
RM then elaborated further in his verse "I'm ill, I'm work itself, I have a friend called "rest" , oh! I never liked him"
Which just shows BTS hard working mentality.
In another Suchwita episode, Suga confessed that he cried infront of his parents when it finally sunk to him that he probably won't be able to perform and work again which might negatively affect his entire future considering music is his life.
This also applies to Jimin cause performing with BTS is his life.
He can't comprehend who he is if he's not Jimin from BTS. So it's like facing an existential crisis. If there's no ARMY'S, no BTS, who is he?
Anyways he's like a fish in a fish bowl but whenever he's with BTS and performing infront of ARMY'S, it would feels like he's breathing and swimming freely in open seas.
So when the pandemic struck, he's no longer a fish in a fish bowl.
He's only an empty fish bowl cause the fish is already dead.
If you watch "Like Crazy" again, you'll notice in the first clips there's an 'empty fish bowl' right besides him when he's resting on the table. 26:38
Actually, everything in the 'Like Crazy' MV has meaning. The mud, the flickering of lights, the empty fish bowl, the blurry background, his outfit, the girl he faced in the bar, etc.
It has lots of symbolism even the lyrics itself like the part were he can't recognize himself facing the mirror and in the ending line: "I wanna stay in this dream, don't save me"
That line just hits different when you know his only dream is to stay with BTS for a long time.
And the reason why he didn't say "stay with BTS forever" is because he knows that's simply impossible, but despite so, to him if BTS is just a dream, he'd rather not wake up as implied in the lyrics.
He'd rather stay in the illusion (dream) and he doesn't wanna be saved.
Also, the reason why I think why he still feels alone despite having millions of fans who genuinely loves and adores him.
Is because Jimin has developed like an impostor syndrome were he can't comprehend that the fans truly loves him.
He knows for sure they love him for real, but in his mind the one they truly love is not him but the version of him they created. So technically it's not him.

You’re assessment of the boys personalities is understandable, given you’re only at the start of your journey learning about them; but as you come to really get to know them, Suga is actually quite extroverted and outspoken, as is RM. Of all of them, Jimin is the most shy and quiet around people he doesn’t know and is a very private person. Jin is the other one who may seem very extroverted as a public figure, and while not shy, he is very private in his personal life.
Since you mentioned JM’s singing voice, his voice in Like Crazy is what he’s the most famous for - extremely high, breathy, soft and delicate, yet powerful and crystal clear. He does, however, have a lower range, which he uses intermittently (like the first phrase in SMFP2), and in past BTS songs. In ‘real life’, his speaking voice is low and he has one of the most calm, comforting peaceful auras about him.

I think a lot if not all the members’ depression, low mood and sense of helplessness came because they’d worked for an entire year writing music and getting ready to tour, had all the venues booked etc when the pandemic hit and everything had to be cancelled - ripped away from them. And they were left with nothing to show for all their hard work. That went on, as you know, for the better part of 2 years. And while BTS did their best to keep busy producing content for online distribution, as entertainers, they NEED a physical audience to feel complete. It’s no wonder they struggled. Hope this little bit of history helps.

On Suchwita, Jimin talked with Yoongi (Suga) about how he went through a period of getting drunk and thinking he was having a good time, but the members never gave him grief for it - Yoongi said sometimes you just have to give the person space to reflect on it and not try to tell them to 'cheer up and get over it'... The members are very good at supporting each other and never making anyone feel like they are being judged.... Yoongi was reading Jimin's lyrics and one line basically said ' I was acting like a fool' so Yoongi said ' were you? ' , Jimin said' you should know' and Yoongi said ' I do' they laughed about it - the whole episode just reinforced how Army felt about the member's bond. When you said that they were 'loved by all' we only wish that was the case, unfortunately the group still get a load of hate from antis (non fans) and at times throughout their 10+years all of them have received more than their share of criticism... Army try everyday to let people see just how humble BTS are even though they are extremely talented people. I remember one incident back when they hadn't long debuted, RM being the only English speaking member at the time, translated a lot of the hate comments directed at the others into English but changed them to positive remarks so that his brothers wouldn't feel hurt. That's our leader and that's BTS... and why we continue to support and love them 💜Borahae💜

One of the biggest issues Jimin faced was not performing in front of Army amd just doing lots of recorded material. He loves performing on stage and repeatedly said this over the pandemic. Apart from this video Jimin has spoken a lot about his album, particularly on Suchwita with Suga and on his Weverse Live he did expaining about the process. There is enough of Jimin's own explanations in different places to not need to theorise... articles and interviews all piece together what Jimin was really feeling and going through. Thanks for the reaction. This album is extraordinary given the issues with Billboard rule changing so Like Crazy couldn't stay at no.1, lack if radio play. The hidden track and lack of tracks meant it didn’t count in some countries charts such as the UK. Jimin was going to release the tracks /album as free on Soundcloud too so the fact it has broken so many records and been so successful is testament to Jimin and his team.

I've always said I think that's why a lot of western groups end up disbanding is because they want to explore their own creativity as a soloist and that's a lot harder when you are in a group. It's not wrong to want to be a soloist but I feel like a lot of groups were done with the intention that it was not going to be forever, that at some point they would all go solo but being in a group is good launching pad for that intention. And you're right BTS don't get a big ego or jealous of the others, they truly look at each other's solo success as a success for BTS as a whole, not just a personal success. I remember Jungkook being on a show awhile back with a member of Shinhwa (a kpop group that is still together with the original members 25 years later). And he told Jungkook their individual accomplishments shouldn't only be looked at as personal accomplishments but accomplishments for the entire group. In some ways it's kind of like being married in my opinion. I remember when I first discovered BTS and I was shocked to discover they all had solo songs on BTS albums, not 1 or 2 members only but all 7 members and that they actually get to perform as soloists during their tours too. It really lets them all shine on their own and are able to share more of who they are as individuals which I think most artists need to do. There isn't 1 main star of the group and the others are just background vocals, they all have something special that can't be done by another member. They are truly family at this point that even if god forbid they end up not performing together they would still be in each other's lives.

Aaahh...listening to sad music when you feel depressed is like a catharsis! It actually makes you feel better! if you fully devote yourself to your grief.and sadness, you are sort of "cleansed" afterwards, you are free from it. But If you deny yourself to feel sad, you will carry that sadness deep inside unhandled.... Anyway, that is how I work!

In a recent interiew with L.A. Times, Suga was asked if he was jealous if his bandmates song did better than his. This was his response. “Are you competitive with your family members? Do you get jealous if your brother or your sister does well?” he asked with a laugh during a Zoom interview (Suga spoke through a Korean translator). “We’re real brothers, period. Many fans purchase cd players specifically due to this and the cds come with photo cards, posters, tiny gifts and collectable items as well. ♦Jimin mentioned that one of his fav movies “Like Crazy” inspired parts of the song aside from the title of song. In the beginning as well as ending to the song, he even uses excerpt wordings from it. Jimin has also said that many of the songs on the album convey what he was going through, his thoughts, his feelings, his emotions as well as despair & depression, during the pandemic in the last few yrs. He also was hoping that maybe it could help others by way of relating & going through similar difficulties during pandemic. So this song Like Crazy, could also be during that time, thinking back while laying his head down, on table in that depressing small room, dreaming of the better times in the past, when he was free to enjoy himself, as well as being with someone or with friends, or even around ppl in general, being able to be free to go out & party. Which is why he even said in the lyrics please don’t wake me up from this dream. I want to stay here.. Maybe, since dirt or mud means despair, that was what all the dirty grimyness including on his hands in the end, also represented, despair of situation, how he felt or how things were at that time, even when it seemed to even ooze into his dream state.

Did I say this already? For me, I like to watch the first time with no English subs or background info. I can just get absorbed into the singing, dancing, the video itself..I watch it straight through and don't try to analyze every little thing.
      I just enjoy.
      The second time- English subtitles.
Their Story Videos/Rap videos generally have a deeper meaning, with rhyming in English /Korean, cultural references, etc as you found out. I need to focus.
The third time, the explanation video if there is one.
Then I can say, "Oh, so that's why the door was open.." If I watch the explanation video first, I would be asking, ."what door? what bell?..."
Then I may go back and watch it again- with all the information.
Don't worry...some of their videos require 2 or 3 viewings..Sometimes we (English speakers), still aren't quite sure of the Korean translation. For particular videos we can watch 7 times and still discover something new...thanks to the rap line's (mostly) brilliant writing.
That's why BTS is so fascinating!
      Anyway, that's just me.
PS Some reacters watch the first time half reading the English subs, (with pauses.) Then watch the explanation right after,. in the same reaction. It takes a bit longer, but we don't mind, it gives a complete picture of the song.

updated Jimin info that some aren't aware of:
❣JIMIN, born October 13, 1995, at age 11, started studying, performing, & competing (winning every competition), in hip hop, popping (excelled), & street dancing, while attending the renowned Just Dance Academy in Busan where he's from! He was so good that an instructor even had the high tuition fee waived at one point! This was while also attending middle school, where he loved sports, being quite athletic, joined the football team, excellent at track, great at basketball, & billiards! Jimin also, all throughout his schooling, was known as a top scholar, achieving perfect scores, especially in math & science which just always came easy to him! Jimin was even class president for 9 yrs in a row! Jimin, all throughout his schooling, was also quite good in art class, as well as calligraphy.
Jimin, then also took up contemporary dance. The media, after seeing a performance of Jimin's performing at a huge Busan Festival Event, called Jimin "The rising star of Busan"!! JIMIN also studied ballet & traditional Korean dance while attending Busan High School of the Arts. Jimin still went to Just Dance Academy to take hip hop classes whenever he could because his first love has always been hip hop, even though he was now majoring in contemporary! JIMIN even had an offer to dance overseas, but declined because he also wanted to become a singer since the 2nd grade, to the dismay of one of his dance instructors who said "The world of dance was going to lose a great artist"!!
So Jimin then went and auditioned for BigHit Entertainment, (company BTS is signed with), being the very last member to join, being a trainee for only a few months (which is unheard of for most Kpop idols), as opposed to the 2-3 yrs of being a trainee the other members had! But Jimin was so good that he was assigned the official title of one of the two Main Dancers, as well as Lead Vocalist. Jimin was even assigned most of the high notes since the very beginning, because even without all that training in the beginning, he was that good, a natural born singer who, just like his dancing makes you feel every emotion and feeling he's trying to convey!
JIMIN, also, for 8 yrs, since a quite young boy, trained in various forms (4), of martial arts: Taekwondo (Blackbelt), Hapkido, Kumdo (Korean form of Kendo), & Chinese martial arts. He even won a scholarship, the only student to do so, to study more extensively in China for awhile! All the martial arts training has given JIMIN his phenomenal inner core strength, as well as his amazing flexibility, which has enabled Jimin to achieve all those breathtakingly spectacular gravity defying dance moves! JIMIN has found a way to incorporate all his various dance disciplines, as well as his extensive training in martial arts into his unique, ever so special, outstandingly amazing dancing abilities!!
JIMIN, has been called 'Stage Commander', known for his amazing, so mesmerizing stage presence. Each dance move is executed flawlessly, his extensions all the way to the fingertips, his lines so clean, his fluidity, his poise & elegance, his ever so graceful moves, but yet, sharp, quick & deliberate when required! He focuses on every detail! Known for his work ethics and being a perfectionist to a fault, spending hours in the practice room, will study every move, even focusing on hands to fingertips. Even his facial expressions, or the look in his eyes! Every single detail he focuses on. Jimin tends to take in the music and interprets all the emotion & feelings, whatever it's trying to convey through his body movements as well as his vocals.
JIMIN has won the prestigious titles for 4 yrs in a row, for KING OF KPOP, as well as also winning BEST TOP #1 DANCER IN KPOP, now an amazing 5 yrs in a row!! I honestly did not know the song has such a deep meaning because even though Jimin is my favourite member in BTS, I didn't really into his solo songs this time. (not because it was bad, its just not my taste of music probably because I expect something like Serendipity or Lie) But it really put me in different perspective after knowing more about the meaning of the song. I can appreciate it.

The meanings actually go even deeper... For example the titles of the songs are never IN the songs they are title for is always said in the song before or after, the only one that has the name inside is Set me free part 2, the end of the album.
I love this album cause Jimin made it in a way we can think about heartbreaks without being about romantically exclusive (which I don't think he is talking about btw, I think he faced something about a friendship from his interviews😢), cause I for example can't relate to a romantic heartbreak 😅 even if I'm 30 now, but I can think of a ton of other reasons my heart felt heavy and that could made me go into the deepest oceans of pain. Im loving their solos projects but FACE is THAT album for me 😊💜🔥

Thank you for this reaction. It seems that everyone has so many different explanations and theories on everything it's hard to really tell the message in a lot of BTS visuals in songs because they all have so many intertwined depictions, I think they do it on purpose so everyone from every walk of life sees themselves in some part of the visuals, and can relate. I personally listen to the person who writes the siong tell you it's meaning. But jimin to me uses so much art in his videos, he takes you so much deeper into that realm and before you know it you are learning about many different types of art and the why they chose the depth they did,..I love his whole album and listen to it everyday. Jimin has such a beautiful calming but emotional and clear voice that you get lost in it.

Man on the right is correct though, everything is Bluetooth or an AUX cable in a car. Most of us KPOP fans don’t buy albums to listen to them. It’s just collecting and supporting.

Bookish theories had a great explanation for this song. Also, Jimins live version on Jimmy Fallon, you get to see the choreography, which is not in the video. The reason they were depressed and drinking was the pandemic. They just finished the map of the Soul 7 album that they worked so hard on and were going on a world tour, and everything was canceled. They did not know what to do, thinking it would not be long, but it ended up being two years before they could perform for a live audience again.

I even own all 4 versions of map of the soul 7. Jimin is a very touchy feely person and during the pandemic Im not sure how often the groups schedules met up as they often did things indivdually. The biggest introverts are Suga, Jin and believe it or not but Jungkook has also been labelled an introvert. Plus once they became super famous with that comes the problem of people only wanting to know you because of that and its made them more guarded in their interactions. Also drinking has a massive culture in Korea so it would be quite normal to drink in the evenings and there is a lot of drinking after work with workmates and this is an accepted thing and in some cases you it is almost compulsary.

Here is a tiny bit of a rabbit-hole ... You were wondering what era the sound style of "Like Crazy" is from & it's basically all of the 1980's & maybe also early 1990's & late 1970's. You were spot on with Miami Vice, as the TV show's composer was Jan Hammer, famously known as a synthesizer aficionado. Other synth musicians of that time that composed with a similar sound as in "Like Crazy", whether synth-pop or synth-rock, include the Yazz (or Yazoo), OMD, Howard Jones, Thomas Dolby, Thompson Twins, Human League, Kraftwerk, Eurythmics, Depeche Mode, Gary Numan, Duran Duran, Pet Shop Boys, Flock of Seagulls, Jean Michel Jarre, etc. Some more rock bands also bought synths. Van Halen was of course famous for incorporating synths into some of their tracks, namely "Jump". I have listened to all of these bands in my youth, plus many more bands using synths. My favorite synth/electronic musician of all time is Vangelis (RIP), who has written some synth pop/rock but most of his work is symphonic (such as for movie music scores) but heavily electronic with some mix of traditional instruments. Note, Vangelis was in a rock band in the 1960's-70's ... look up & listen to "The Four Horsemen" by Aphrodite's Child. The Weeknd takes note of the 1980's synth craze & has used it as some parts of his music. In the modern era, there is a nostalgia of the '80's, thus if you listen to the EDM-subgenres of Synthwave, Chillwave, Future Synth, Retrowave, Dreamwave, Cyberpunk, etc, you will notice the similar sound. Even Synth Metal has some similar vibe to 80's synth. Music synthesizers were still in their infancy in the 1940's, 50's, 60's & 70's, most of the synths were clunky or huge, like the Moog modular synths, so by the time the synths got smaller & a bit more stable by the late 1970's, they got cheaper & faster to manufacture in volume production, thus many more bands got on the bandwagon & bought many synths by then, beginning with analog synths & eventually got to sampling & digital technology by the mid/late 1980's. Television & film scoring also got into using synths by then. Films that used synths & may have some sounds from "Like Crazy" may include Terminator (1984), The Thing (1982), Blade Runner (1982), Escape From New York (1981), Buckaroo Banzai (1984), Nightmare on Elm Street (1984), etc. It's all about the synth pads, synth percussion, sequencers & arpeggiated double-octave bass. Some famous synth brand manufacturers of the time include Moog, Yamaha, Roland, Linn, Korg, Oberheim, Sequential Circuits, E-Mu, Casio, Ensoniq, etc & they all contributed to that familiar sound & what you could possibly hear in "Like Crazy". And it definitely was a "crazy" exciting pioneering time as the synthesizer became a viral hit getting bought like crazy by many people. I still have all of my Keyboard Magazines from the mid 1980's, all the way to as recent as 2019, which by that time Keyboard Magazine already merged with Electronic Musician magazine. Hopefully when BTS returns, they could further revive 80's synth, as well as perhaps rock/metal. And a mix of it all in one song. You never know.

I kind of want to say...he mentioned that the music video has NOTHING to do with the song and that it's just an aesthetic video for people to enjoy. this was how he felt during the pandemic, everything was closed off and quarintine was brutal so there were no clubs and partying for him, it was sitting at home alone, in the dark, drinking his pain away, it numbed him and eventually he got lost in the feeling and it felt fun, it was a getaway. reality wasn't better than these drunken dreams so he wanted to stay in that dream for as long as he could
then comes the waking up drunk and reality hits him and he's feeling pathetic because he questioned "what am i doing with my life right now? why am i feeling like this?" which he expresses in the song ALONE. It's a chronilogical album and very, just wow. Jimin is amazing at expressing himself through music because i felt every emotion and then some lol

Jimin’s music is his experience through Covid. He went through a very hard time emotionally. On SUGA’s talk show, he said he was crazy during Covid. 80’s synth pop which with stands the tests of time. You can’t go wrong if you have the right voice.
Suga used to be an introvert. He is not like that anymore. He just does what he likes. He has his talk show Suchwita, he goes out with friends. Suga has healed from the emotional wounds of the past that contributed to his social anxiety. August D was SUGA’s persona that led his journey of healing and growth. Daechwita, Haegum, Amygdala. We don’t know if he will record anymore as AgustD, because he has left the past behind him and he is not looking back.
Watch your explanation video after you watch the videos and your reaction will be authentic.
When reactors ask how many in the group, what are there names…..then I would say dude watch an introduction video, but I don’t recommend watching an explanation video before you actually watch the MV. While it's not an exhaustive answer, the BTS members have done the Myers-Briggs test several times, and most of them have in fact changed over time - as is quite normal for people to do when they grow, experience new things, etc.
Jimin has consistently remained an extrovert, and is, as far as I know, the only member of the group to do so.
RM started out as introvert but has scored as an extrovert on every test since then.
J-Hope was an extrovert but landed on introvert during the most recent round of tests.
And V was also an extrovert over time but has more recently been labeled as an introvert.
    The rest are consistently introvert.

Jin and Suga have already hit their 30s. Jin's birthday is December 4, 1992, while Suga birthday is March 9, 1993.
    J-Hope birthday is Feb 18, 1994.
    Jimin - October 13, 1995
    V (Kim Taehyung) - Dec 30, 1995
    Jungkook - Sept 1, 1997
In Korea, they have a Korean age system, they are usually a year older then their international age. In Korea, when a baby is born they are considered as one year old because they count the 9 months in the womb. Then every new year, they all turn a year older. They still do celebrate their actual birthdays, but to them it is more like a celebration of their life and for being born. Although now, the K-gov't already abolished that law just this year. So now they are already following the International age system.

Jimin could also be on the spectrum between man and woman we dont know but it is something he has hinted at before.
