- This is one of the most remembered sermons of Dr. S, M. Lockridge, pastor of the Calvary Baptist Church in San Diego California. I was pleased to visit his church on several occassions and hear him preach.
I AM 65 YEARS NOW AND I AM A MEMBER OF THE MOUNT MORIAH MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH OF LOS ANGELES WHERE MY GRANDFATHER EARL AMOS PLEASANT SENIOR WAS THE FOUNDER AND PASTOR AND DR LOCKRIDGE WAS HIS VERY VERY GOOD FRIEND AND I REMEMBER AS A LITTLE BOY WHEN DR LOCKRIDGE CAME TO VISIT US AND BROUGHT THIS POWERFUL MESSAGE TO GOD'S PEOPLE WITH A HEBREW BLESSINGS
This type of preaching needs a comeback in the church desperately.
Very true, but there must be men who are so in love with Jesus to preach it.

He lived next door to me in La Mesa, California. I was 5-9 yr. old then. I really do not remember him too well as he was always on the road. His wife, Virgil was the sweetest lady and I used to sit in her living room and she would tell me stories. They had a big impact in my life and I feel honored to have lived next door to them. I had no idea just how respected and well-known he was around the world.

The Bible says my King is the King of the Jews. He is a King of Israel. He's the King of righteousness. He's the King of the ages. He's the King of heaven. He's the King of glory. He's the King of kings and He is the Lord of lords. That's my King! I wonder... do you know Him?
My King is a sovereign King; no means of measure can define His limitless love. He's enduringly strong. He's entirely sincere. He's eternally steadfast. He's immortally graceful. He's imperially powerful. He's impartially merciful. Do you know Him?
He's the greatest phenomenon that has ever crossed the horizon of this world. He's God's Son. He's a sinner's Savior. He's the centerpiece of civilization. He's unparalleled. He's unprecedented. He is the loftiest idea in literature. He's the highest personality in philosophy. He's the fundamental doctrine of true theology! He's the only one qualified to be an all-sufficient Savior! I wonder if you know Him today.
He supplies strength for the weak. He's available for the tempted and tried. He sympathizes and He saves. He strengthens and sustains. He guards and guides. He heals the sick. He cleansed the lepers. He forgives sinners. He discharges debtors. He delivers the captives. He defends the feeble. He blesses the young. He serves the unfortunate. He regards the aged. He rewards the diligent and beautifies the meek. I wonder if you know Him.
He is the key to knowledge. He is the wellspring of wisdom. He's the way of deliverance. He's the pathway of peace. He's the roadway of righteousness. He's the highway of holiness. He's the gateway of glory. Do you know Him?
Well, His life is matchless. His goodness is limitless. His mercy is everlasting. His love never changes. His Word is enough. His grace is sufficient. His reign is righteous, and His yoke is easy, and His burden is light.
I wish I could describe Him to you. Yes! He's indescribable. He's incomprehensible. He's invincible. He's irresistible. You can't get Him out of your mind. You can't get him off your hand. You can't outlive Him, and you can't live without Him.
Well, the Pharisees couldn't stand Him, but they found out they couldn't stop Him. Pilate couldn't find any fault in Him. Herod couldn't kill Him. Death couldn't handle Him, and the grave couldn't hold Him!
Yes! That's my King! That's my King!
Just in case anybody couldn't understand him eh?
***** Why wouldn't anyone understand him? but yet again, some catholic people might have some difficulties understanding him. Jesus is everything he says he is and more.

The reason I said that it's because catholicism and christianity have different belief. A person who's catholic may not fully understand what Jesus really is to us. For instance, I believe Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by him. Whereas catholic people believe that Mary can forgive their sins and they have to go to priest to confess. Christ Jesus is the one who died-more than that, who was raised-who is at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us. But yet again, I am not preaching about religion I just think that certain things that we christians believe in and that catholic people don't.

You know nothing about the Catholic faith if you are under the misguided belief that we believe Mary forgives sins. The Church does not & never has taught this. You are woefully ill-informed here but sadly it is quite common amongst those that are not of the Catholic tradition who either have an agenda or have been taught by those with an agenda. We merely honour & respect Mary & believe that as the mother of our Lord & saviour that she holds a special place in our hearts.
& you need correcting re another point: Catholics ARE Christians, the original Christians & we can trace our lineage right back to the Upper Room 2,000 years ago whereas most non-Catholic protestants - over 40,000 denominations & counting - were & are founded by men in the past 500 years who each interpret & preach from the Bible independently, whereas the Catholic Church has the Magesterium, the teaching authority, which has taught consistently throughout the world the same message since the time of Christ himself.

I met Pastor Lockridge the same year in which he retired from Calvary Baptist Church. He met with a group of young preachers and we were the more
blessed as he shared his wisdom with us...Praised God for his life and his
legacy lives on.
Listening to the sermon I was moved in the spirit to scroll though the comments. Yours caught my attention. I believe the lord wanted me to encourage you. I believe that this message is for you and your flock right now. May God bless you my brother.

Very powerful sermon
I see why the family unit was stronger in those days, we had pastors and leaders like this and families heard this type of gospel weekly. Today we are in dire need of this type of word to help us uplifted and bonded by God.

I have realized something after listening to this sermon. I have listened to other pastors of his age. they did not scream and jump and yell. I realize they are well spoken direct, strong in tone. You can hear the caring, the passion and the grit of his conviction. WOW. I wish I would had heard him in person.
In life you see many of preachers and hear many .At 64 ive learned to decern from the puff and the fluff . This man knows My Lord not only Knows him walks with him and knows how to pray and talk to my King Praise God and Amen Thank you Jesus for your truly men of God and the one who post this where i can have hear Im Pentecostal and i do believe in different type of tongues i also believe in a separate prayer langues that each of us can have

Worship now is just practice. I grew up in raucous worship churches, so I don’t understand quiet worship. Or how believers can sit still during worship. No one redeemed by the blood of the Lamb is going to sit still & quiet in heaven. I’m 100% certain of that. When I lay eyes on Him, just stand back ... ✝️🙌🏽😳🤪❤️😇

Amen… I was a street preacher for about 14 years Jesus saved me found me in federal prison I started doing Bible studies from Victory outreach in San Antonio God has a plan my ex mother in law was a heroin addict for many years and Jesus broke the chains of addiction in her life and she ended up at the Victory Home she sends me these Bible studies I started to read the Bible and in a short time I had a group of 11 I was the 12 th we would study Gods word pray so many prayers miracles we 12 saw in prison one of the guys his wife wanted a divorce , we prayed and that weekend he gets a visit and she told him I was with you when you had money I’m gonna stay with you amen praise God

That's My King has been a blessing as they would play this to music on the radio in Chicago. It was true then & still true today - no words can really describe our God but for sure "We can't live without Him."
