The Ghoul finds the dog at a Red Rocket station. Uh huh.
It looks like he didn't play Red Rocket with Dogmeat though.
Why?
"I'm sorry Dogmeat, but you ain't him." ❤🔥💄
Number 1 rule of Fallout - Dogmeat never dies.
I’ve reloaded saves from hours before because I accidentally let dog eat die in 3. They must survive.
@@malaboom yep, me too! the goodest boy must live!🙂
I mean, it's entirely possible Dogmeat is incapable of dying. There are some theories that the dog in every Fallout game is in fact, the same dog.
My Dogmeat in F03 was killed by Fire Ants.😭But he's immortal in F04 (though he can still get wounded and start whimpering in pain during battle). You can Stimpak him right away to stop his pain, or you could wait like a sadist until the battle is over, and he will heal automatically on his own, and save your Stimpaks which are plentiful in the game.
My Dogmeat got stepped on by a behemoth (the one outside GNR)...I wanted to reload my save, but I felt like I'd be living a lie so I mourned..then I looted him, and got myself some dog meat... =,( he lives on having fueled me!
Ghoul Goggins top, I never stop admiring this character. To my surprise, these characters easily left "Asylum 4", I expected that experiments would be conducted on Lucy.
Maximus' character is still progressing, although I was a little annoyed that he walked around with the same expression throughout most episodes. Well, although at the sight of the TV and at the end with Lucy, emotions showed up. Did the 4th shelter really turn out to be such a friendly community, only with a penchant for creepy experiments? But after all, this ritual with the call to Moldaver was, something is still wrong there. The brother storyline later turned out to be much more interesting to me than the main LOL brother storyline - it's a collection of terminal recordings from one of the 20-30 shelters of the last parts of the Fallout game, so conceptually it fits strictly into the framework. The whole scene of the "execution" in Shelter 4 and Maximus's act, and indeed his character is easily described by the phrase "dementia and courage". Apparently, he set 1 each for intelligence and charisma, so that the rest of the points could be pumped in more.😄 I didn't quite understand why it was necessary to show the armor of the NKR ranger, if in the end it turned out to be an ordinary inhabitant of the wasteland. For sure, there have already been such cases many times, it's just that it's not customary to disclose them. But I am much more concerned about the moment with the battery. What does it turn out to be - it fits perfectly to the armor and the same - provides energy to the WHOLE BUNKER? Despite the fact that there are dozens and dozens of guys in armor, and there is no spare "battery" in the bunker? Ok.. I think that everything will be told about everything in the next episode)
Maximus is a good person deep down. But to survive the brotherhood of steel aspirant training, he had to resort to rules of survival (endure and power hungry).
If he killed Thaddeus, he would become more evil. Lucy is the light that brought him back from the brink. The smile he shown after giving back the fusion core revealed who he really is and he could only shown this side because of Lucy.
So I ship them.
I didn't expect to care at all going in, but honestly they're adorable together
He’s had a mix of morals and motivations from the start, but he’s been the nicest. In someways he’s the existential hero. He’s defining himself by his choices and could go either way. Definitely influenced by Lucy, though.
@MarcosElMalo2 it's a very old trope that u don't see too often anymore... a good man always wants to be better for a good woman
maximus had no family from young, he's searching for love/validation/purpose... tried to find it with the brotherhood but what he really wants/needs is a family
He called him Dogmeat 🥲
What's the most amusing and funny is that the Mutant Vault Dwellers actually think they're "punishing" Lucy. I mean SHE actually wants to leave and them giving her supplies is even better. lol.
That vault even though theyve been experimented on theyre still happy to be there. Theyre non violent although the ash and blood thing is weird as hell😂
"Youll be killed almost immediately out there" like if that were true she wouldnt be there at vault 4 lmaoo
I was reminded of the Institute. Being exiled to the surface is considered a slow cruel death sentence.
If you are lucky a Supermutant will kill you quickly. More likely you'll linger for weeks, dealing with radiation poisoning. Until mole rats are radroaches rip you apart.
@@hasicazulatv2078 Definitely. I can't actually blame them for having an orgy to keep things interesting....but the blood and ash thing actually made me have a mini-wretch when I saw that.
@@patrickcromwell7554Have you ever drank the blood of Christ?
1:08 what a well made scene there - it really makes you think Sandra might've been the Ghoul's food for a moment.
3:54 in all fairness, the Ghoul did give him a chance to give up on the whole "avenging the death of my brother" thing. The kid was just too hotheaded to do it.
4:50 with this scene alone you can see why Moldaver gained such a following, she is very charismatic.
6:05 you can see how Cooper is still sticking to his principles for quite a while, until his curiosity and his wife's behaviour finally determined him to actually go through with Moldaver's suggestion.
7:10 these are the same scientists we saw at the beginning of episode 6, when Vault 4 was presented by Cooper.
8:43 Max is living the LIFE there and popcorn is playing no small part in it.
9:27 arguably, from this point onwards, you can probably make a case for Thaddeus already turning into a ghoul himself, before the nutjob doctor gave him the "miracle" cure. No normal human being could stand upright, let alone walk, with their foot in that condition.
11:15 the ultimate punishment - banishment to the surface! This scene solidifies just how innocent (at least in comparison to the rest of the world) the mutants of Vault 4 are. The humans from the surface who joined them, with their freaky ritual, maybe they're not as nice but at the very least the mutants are very nice.
13:15 rather than showing off for Lucy, Thaddeus was probably trying to intimidate the perceived aggressors while almost doing as little damage to them as possible.
14:37 Lucy from the future would like a word with you 😂
15:23 "The things we do for love" - Jaime Lannister was right.
15:45 this was probably one of the sweetest scenes in the series so far. Despite their flaws and Maximus' lies, they accepted each other.
17:17 well said, Magy. You figured it out perfectly.
18:40 the chicken fucker has entered the chat!
20:10 look at this Hippocrates of the future, hard at work, creating miraculous concotions!
21:07 or he realized that Thaddeus was already turning into a ghoul. If you go back and look at the 2 scenes in this episode that showed us his mangled foot, there were actually no signs of the tissue rotting. Sure, it looked disgusting but the meat still had a relative healthy color.
22:21 those are the raider prisoners from episode 1. None of the vault residents died from the rat poison. Most likely Stephanie the psycho one eyed blonde took care of them.
25:19 Cooper going full on "fuck Vault-Tec and their no dogs policy!"
29:00 who said romance is dead? Look at all of them kissing there!
30:18 perfect promotion for psycho Stephanie, we're all so happy for her.
31:12 well said, Magy. Proud of you for noticing that!
31:32 if you remember from episode 2, while the council decides the appropiate punishment for Norm, they discuss how he's been on duty for computer maintenance or something like that for quite a good while. He was on a lot of jobs, so the aquired skills are being finally shown in this episode, at least in terms of "hacking" competency.
Excellent discussion afterwards, it was a pleasure listenin to you.
Thank you for the sensational reaction ❤
When Lucy was asked what the experiment was for her vault and she said there wasn't one was a common belief for vault dwellers.
There were a few normal "control" vaults, but most of them were designed to study various scientific or ethical qualities. The people in them just didn't know they were being tested and assumed it was either the same in all the others, or maybe something simply went wrong with their vault.
If 32 and 33 are always controlled by 31, doesn’t that constitute a social experiment?
@@MarcosElMalo2 Yes, but like most of the other vaults, the people in 32 and 33 don't know it. They still believe in the myth they are supposed to rebuild the world, or at least America. Look at Lucy's surprise when she realizes Shady Sands did what her vault was supposed to do before she was even born. Though, admittedly, it didn't end well for them.
As she spends more time above ground she is learning that she's either been lied to, or something went very wrong. She's still a believer in Vault Tec at this point in the show so I assume she believes it was simply a miscalculation. But her mind is open to the possibility that everything she's been taught is wrong and is looking for an explanation of the truth.
As Mark Twain pointed out, it's easier to con someone than to convince them they've been conned.
@@MarcosElMalo2I’d assume it was a social experiment about cooperation and continuing their race right? I’m not a fallout player but I watched some lore stuff so I’d assume that is the experiment, observing how the vaults get along and cooperate when problems arise, or if they would turn on each other or raid the other.
Vault 32 has it's own experiment going, based on the video playing and the messages smeared on the walls, they apparently found out about it - and it looks like the vault was somehow being manipulated to be lethally overpopulated.
In this series, Lucy's vault experiment was basically a eugenics program; which is why they chose specific people to be accepted for the marriage/trade between the 32 and 33 vaults
Maximus is too adorable when he smiles at lucy 😍
Both Maximus and Lucy are Adorable, they suit eachother perfectly 😊
I love how Fred Armison talks about how much people hate the fiddle station. “Ya they get really mad about it.l 😂
The radio DJ character is so much like a Portlandia character! And Kyle MacLachlan played Portland’s overseer! I mean, mayor.
How many SNL alums will have cameos. We have Fred. Chris Parnell. Was Michael Rappaport a cast member?
I’m almost expecting Bill Hader and Jason Sudeikis to show up in season 2. Maybe Will Ferrel as a feral ghoul?
I love how they finished up this episode with a high-def rendition of the music that everyone hates
"They are doing it on purpose!" Of COURSE they're doing it on purpose...comedy and goofiness is an essential part of Fallout games
I love how conflicted you reacted when he killed the rangers son at the beginning. It just captures how fantastic they wrote this character
Stealing a Fusion Core from a habited vault is one of the most evil things done in the show
The thing we always did in the game😂
[ everyone disliked that ]
@@heygema Meh, you only looted dead vaults.
Or people who deservedi t!
They did give it back though. But yes thats extremely evil to do.
Basically an average Tuesday for me during the game. I've done worse for less.
Think about how many members, including the kids (squires) have had to die just because you can't steal Maxson's coat. If a bullet to his head, and war with an entire faction is the only way to get it, then that's what's going to happen.
8:54 popcorn or lucy... 😂
Well, there's also the robe and slippers.
Popcorn and lucy❤
@28:24 Yeah, the Brotherhood hunt down Ghuls and other mutants, so going back to the Brotherhood was no longer an option for Thaddeus
Honestly, maybe that's what he deserves.
@@dwnkaomwn3953 And it might allow him to develop into someone that isn’t a total tool.
Another video game that has scientists without "regulated control" is "Bioshock". Basically its a libertarian nightmare of the Ayn Rand variety. The game also takes place in an alternate timeline up to 1960. With soundtrack music from the 1930's and 1940's. Its one of my favorite FPS games because the story is so original and the setting very unique. And like Fallout, its very violent and with moral decisions that need to be made by the player which affect the outcome.
Had a friend in high-school that didn't understand the game was parody.
*Goosey
You girls should play Fallout 4 just for some context. Makes the show even more amazing ❤
I prefer Fallout New Vegas
@@sonofkarma5461 fallout 4 is more relevant to the show, maybe New Vegas for next season??
@@tepiwagrey5908 oh it Does Believe me, Wait until you see the end of the Finale
The potion that guy gave him is what turned him into a goul. That's why he was rushing to leave and why he was suddenly able to heal.
Pretty sure what he gave him was FEV, hes gonna become more than just a ghoul.
@@ipawnyanab So radiation makes you a ghoul, but FEV is what all the rich people took?
@@Christobanistan No FEV is what created super mutants, I was implying he might be the first super mutant we get to see

Now though, with Vault 32 being empty and Vault 33 getting their population cut in half, they can start having more babies. There will definitely be room for them, NOW.
Plus, they have a working water chip. Assuming the Overseer in 33 didn't grab it for herself.
@@christopherconard2831 A real possibility, but considering that the three Vaults all work in a kind of symbiosis, I feel like that would just damage the all three. IF the overseer did indeed stoop to that, that is.
It's to separate and rule...
By separating they mix in "returners" from cryo stasis.
Up until this point the dog was just a dog of the wasteland and companion. Him officially getting called Dogmeat means he's THE Legendary dog from the games! such a big moment!
How did he get from the East Coast of the U.S. to the West Coast? Hitch a ride on the Prydwen?
@@x_trio_3_po333 I mean, there are more crazy inconsistencies than that, such as Dogmeat being well over a hundred years old at this point, since he's been a staple since the first Fallout game, which is set 135 years (2161) before the events of the TV series (2296). That is, if it's the same Dogmeat and not an ancestor or random dog named the same way, of course.
In the TV series, I believe the Enclave scientist (Wurzig?) was working with puppies, of which Dogmeat was one of them, so it would be impossible for him to be the same Dogmeat as in the games, even if dogs in Fallout had an unnaturally long lifespan.
@@x_trio_3_po333 IRL dogs have made crazy travels like that. although this is a new story written into cannon.
@@Onnarashi I feel like they can take the lore that the DNA used to make those dogs at the Enclave lab is the DNA of (THE DogMeat) from Fallout. Like the way Dogmeat is the mythological ancestor of the original in the rest of the Fallout series.
@@autocad2358 Yes, that could work. I've had the same thought, that the Enclave bred the Dogmeat lineage to be especially resilient, smart, loyal and with keen senses.

Just so you know the significance of The Ghoul calling the dog Dogmeat, DogMeat is a Legendary character in the games that has its own lore.
From episode 1~6 built up so much What The Fuck moments and we were conditioned episode 7 going to be another WTF then suddenly get What The unFuck. What a plot twist.
31:24 you didn't show it on screen here but the hacking he did is a puzzle mini-game in the games. You have to find the correct password and the rules are like Wordle. Luckily Norm got it with one blind guess lol
...which is one of the 'trick' ways to do it in the game - open the terminal, pick a word... if it's not the right one, close the terminal and reopen it and try again. Often quicker than doing it 'right', and no risk of getting locked out.
Hobbit 3 we are waiting😊

Yes of course a cliff hanger ending, just like in LOST, the mother of all cliffhanger TV shows
Bro how did they figure out that the quack doctor made Thaddeus a ghoul so quickly? I didn't realize it until the last episode
Not every vault was experimented on. There was regular control vaults like Lucy’s. Only about half of them were experiment vaults
Lucy was not in a control vault.
There are control vaults, but 33, 32, and 31 were not control vaults.
@@VanityOfEliCLee hm. Yeah I forget they consider it one vault. What do you think the experiment is then?
I'm not sure but 32 probably had the plague ruin their crops on purpose to see how insane they would go without food..which is why they started killing each other like the video a man was watching about the rats will start to kill each other in order to survive and all the overseers from 33 came from 31(pre war humans)

the dogs must get revenge IM tired of seeing get mistreated especially when they didn't ask for it.
OOPS
Refreshingly, for the BoS in the games it doesn't matter what color, gender, race, etc. a person is (for the most part.) But if you're not at least 100% human (ghoul, super-mutant, synth) you're called an abomination and worthy only of death in the Brotherhood's eyes.
That's not entirely true. Paladin Danse specifies that they do not kill innocent civilians and flips out when an innocent ghoul is killed in front of him. The BOS tolerate non-feral ghouls but don't allow them in their ranks. They dislike ghouls overall, but their concern is primarily with feral ghouls and other threats to innocent people. They don't trust that a ghoul will stay rational when there's a chance they can turn feral without warning. Likewise, while they make snarky comments about a 76 Vault Dweller who takes mutation serums, they allow them into the Brotherhood because they are still technically human and are not a danger to others.
@@white-noisemaker9554that might not be true for the LA Brotherhood of Steel Chapter. Remember the DC Chapter had Elder Lyons who was a lot more compassionate than most Brotherhood of Steel Elders and although Elder Maxson turned the DC chapter’s priority goal back to the traditional Brotherhood goals of safeguarding advanced technology, he still kept a lot of his predecessors traditions.
9:31 Maximus stepped on his leg when he tried to kill him, that's why his leg is like that
