Thanks for checking out Zutomayo they are indeed magical and their live performances are mesmerizing. Thank you guys for always taking the time to dive into these.
Our pleasure, @DragonPhlyy! Another great Japanese band to add to the list. Thank you for making this request and as always, thank you for the ongoing support!
@@fault3k Unfortunately, it means nothing if we get no regular exposure to this side of the music industry. We have to go out and search for Japanese music, while other shitty music is constantly shoved in our faces. Such is the world... We're definitely glad that soon after we started this show, we got exposed to awesome Japanese music, and this is continuing a couple of years on. It has been a huge part of why this journey has been so positive for us. Thank you for taking the time to engage. Much appreciated!
@@myindieprodentertainment it doesn't help either, that Japanese music isn't really sorted by genres like Western music is, and you either have to look for the artist specifically, or know the music "circle" the artist is from. Enjoy your journey and check out lots of other bands, there is tons of talent and RUclips makes it surprisingly easy to get some good Asian content on your algorithm.
@@fault3k At the moment, we do all our time allows, which is to react to requests that come in through Buy Me A Coffee and Paypal. Reason being, is that we are not full-timers and have to tend to our day jobs and film projects, leaving us little time to record and edit episodes. We do our best, though, and hope to continue in our current pace. Should we find a way to monetize in the future and make this a full-time thing, we will have more time to dedicate to researching new bands, etc. For the moment, the requests are our source of new bands and it's been amazing so far. So much great music! Thanks again for taking the time to view and engage. We hope to engage with you more in the future! Much appreciated!
They leave it pretty vague on who is the actual band, but from what I have seen/read the vocalist (ACAね -> Aka-ne) is the only reoccurring member. She is also the main writer and lyricist. I believe she passes on her writing to a producer for some songs at least, but she used to be a singer-songwriter and I am pretty sure she writes her song on acoustic guitar. There are some videos of her explaining songs on their channel with her playing parts of it on guitar, but the videos are in Japanese only. She apparently used to busk around Shibuya station when she was a singer-songwriter, so plenty of people have actually seen her but nowadays she is very much hidden. The musicians generally are credited by name, but for her you only get ACAね. Most of the other musicians are studio musicians from what I understand and there are plenty of them that have done multiple concerts with Zutomayo, but they probably pick the ones that are available from a list of very good studio musicians. That said, I imagine they try to keep the list of people who know who she is as small as possible, so they probably try to use the same ones. As far as the TV's go, these are made by Electronicos Fantasticos (you can find them on yt). They are usually on stage with Zutomayo and they have a whole bunch of crazy electronic instruments. I believe the TV's work with static electricity and a special costume the drummer is wearing. The tones depend on the images on the screen.
Zutomayo is not even a group, I would say it is a whole theater, I counted about 20-22 participants, string and brass quartets clearly from classical or jazz orchestras
