I absolutely love Bo talking about 'streamlining our social lives' because it's so true. Now I don't hate the internet (neither does bo) but I think it is a drug, it's like sugar. We know it's bad for us but we continue to crave and consume it anyway. We just need to come up with a way to moderate this.
Unfortunately, the internet is far more damaging in a multitude of ways, short term and long term. The potential for damage is unlimited. There is some truth to sugar being compared to a drug, but the internet is that and so much more, completely rewires our brains, and is constantly used to manipulate, advertise, and warp people's entire perception of reality and how they engage with the world around them. The internet can be and is being used to convince people that up is down, lies are truth, and to turn people into extremists ready to be violent for any cause. It listens our connections with people and amplifies rage and distrust.
@@WinterReflections I agree, although I compared it to sugar because most people think they don't have a problem when they down 4 sodas in a day. Similar to how people don't think they have a problem when they're on electriconics for the majority of the day.

Yes, love that movie! Both me & my daughter have been trying to get my niece to watch it. She just turned 15 & I've been trying for a couple year's. Even though she's 15, socially she's more like 12, maybe 13. She still wears clothes from the childrens place, went to a small charter school & now is a freshman. She has no social media (that I know of) other than watching RUclips videos. I talk to her about everything; social media, s_x, love, mental health(she has really bad anxiety), everything I could think of as a mom & her aunt. I really, really think seeing this movie would be an experience for her that would bring a lot of what I try to tell her to life & could help her navigate more successfully because she's missed out on so much social development. Anyone have any suggestions to get her interested???
I love how you teased out the contradictions within the film. It made me think of an interview where Bo calls himself a hypocrite and acknowledges being a walking contradiction. Despite his perfectionism he tells a story about accepting imperfection, which is one of my favorite things about him as an artist.
Super well-made! After showing my dad INSIDE, I showed him this and he really liked the video as well. You did really good job covering everything in a half-hour.

I loved Inside, but as a person with suicidal thoughts and depression it's a bit hard, bc the things that he says have been true for a long part of the lockdown and of the life after it
This video and Inside are terrible! I have watched Inside for the 15th time now and there are still new aspects I find. I've made a little note in Notion for analysis. It has stills, lyrics, transcripts and references besides my views on the different layers of the special from different angles. Its now 30 pages if I would print it out. And now you come along and make a video covering it all. Clean and professional with sources, chapters, a good script and so on. I love you, man! Thanks for all the work you put into this. It really helped me to get a better grip of Inside and helped to resolve that lingering feeling missing something when I watch Inside. Did I say it is terrible? Yes, it is, because I wish I had found this video earlier, before descending in meta-madness and utter despair ;-)
Looks like he can still be relatable (pertaining to the talk he did about him only knowing how to perform), after pointing out that everyone's a performer
Bo: "I think the experience of BEING a kid is different than how you remember it." Interesting comment. I thought about it for a while and I think he is right. Gonna think on it some more.
This is truly the best outline of Bo Burnham's career and personal life. Beautifully told with intention and no wasted time or space. I teared up a couple times. Bo is the only person in the spotlight that I have ever connected with or felt understood by. This video shows you why so many of us love him.
Holy moly man I clicked on this from another video not expecting much but you certainly are good at making videos. I've been following Bo since the start so knew most of this but this was well produced, narrated, and interesting to boot. Please keep it up. I'm almost exactly the same age as Bo (our birthdays are days apart), so despite his fame and success separating us (and talent), his emotional and psychological journey has felt very similar to mine at times and I think that's where he excels. He is funny sure. But his capacity for self-reflection and his ability to put it that into a performance that evokes empathy and your own self-reflection is where he really shines. Inside is the utter encapsulation of that and is truly a masterpiece of Millenial performance art in my opinion. Glad someone else's favorite is That Funny Feeling. I think it is overlooked a bit but tops my list of the best songs from Inside. I've rewatched Inside 6 times now and every time my interpretation evolves and I think that's what will make it a timeless piece of film.

On altruism: I don’t donate my time/money to make myself feel like a good person - I do it because the suffering of others moves me to help relieve that suffering in whatever way I can… …so that I can make myself feel better. WELP.
The inconsistency in the monologue bugged me. "Nothing we do is altruistic except a mother taking care of her child" "Having kids is the most selfish act of all" I don't think he's thought this through very hard.

This is like one of these mini documentaries. Very informative and greatly done, very professional. And I absolutely love it! There was so many things I didn't know about Bo and I'm very glad I know them now. It changes my view on him a little bit (in a good way of course). Thank you very much.
Well now I see what my teenagers like about him so much…color me enlightened. Thanks for the information brother.
He looks like Carlin at the end of Inside. I just realized how similar his stuff is to Carlin too, the kind of introspective commentary on society. I am not surprised he and Pryor was an influence.
I dont normally throw out likes...But you my friend.... I wish I could like more than once
Dude you're soooooo criminally underrated you should have at least 800K+ subs
One of the most important pop culture "statements" of this decade. An immensely good piece. And what interesting person to... Brilliant ✌🏽❤
I can’t help but wonder if inside will be looked at like citizen Kane in 40 years
I don't know how I found your channel, but, I'm glad I did. This & the other 3 vids I watched before this, are so well put together, in every way. You have a gift, truly! Subscribed & I'll definitely be recommending your channel.
Very well done, I appreciate your interpretation of his career. I learned some things about him and have now taken a deeper look at his comedy and his impact on me. Thank you
I hear MF DOOM productions in this video. nice would love to see a DOOM vid.
Awesome video dude! Super high quality and definitely deserves more views
I loved this, inside left me with a lot of thoughts and this kind of videos helps me get them back together. Thank you!
"if you can live your life without an audience, you should do it"
That line always breaks me and i don't know why
I wonder how much time it took you to do the research about Bo! I already knew all of these things but it took me like two weeks💀 well done!! I wish tho video was trending
Man this was great you're super talented and man Bo is really special to I can identify so much keep making content and help get us out of the darkness we've allowed to consume us all
This is a very very good "documentary". I just watched Inside, were flashed by the amount of art and aesthetic put into such a simple looking movie and had no clue who Bo was. I searched his name up and found this video!
Thanks so much for this. Before seeing Inside (on the suggestion of my daughter who also turned 30 during the pandemic) the only thing I knew about Bo Burnham was as the director of my favorite movie of 2018. Inside totally blew me away and I kept thinking, "who IS this guy and what is this I am watching???" Your video gave me a great start! I've now watched Inside 4 times. Time for the 5th...
How many now?
This channel getting better for sure!
Love everything you make dude
I can't believe this only has 150,000 views
You’re extremely talented and intelligent man, this was a great video. And Mad respect for what you said right here 31:08
On altruism: I don’t donate my time/money to make myself feel like a good person - I do it because the suffering of others moves me to help relieve that suffering in whatever way I can…
…so that I can make myself feel better.
WELP.
then you wouldnt have told anyone you did it
This generation is a joke, and I'm part of it.
11:56 I know that tune!! Thank god for Soulr to have an amazing taste in Music
Zach Stone had to be on mtv. Because people who covet passionless fame are also on mtv.
absolutely phenomenal video, loved every second of it, keep it up, you got a new fan!
What a wonderful job you did with this video! Excellent work. I think Bo would be pleased
He did show everything and anything
❤️❤️❤️ put your fuckin hands up! 🙌
Alright, time to make a Andre 3000 video
The inconsistency in the monologue bugged me.
"Nothing we do is altruistic except a mother taking care of her child"
"Having kids is the most selfish act of all"
I don't think he's thought this through very hard.
