Actually, I've managed to find out what happened to her. She went back to her hometown, got married and had a son. Her son's face is always covered so no one know her son's identity. She said although she didn't enjoy the fame that was before the fake plastic surgery ad, she is now happier.

You do realize 92% of all plastic surgeries are done on women right. This isn't some 50/50 split, 92 out of 100 plastic surgery patients are female. That means if you guessed female you would be right 92% of the time. Nobody is going to say it was the man because you would be wrong 92% of the time. Also 70% of the men who do get plastic surgery get it to remove fat or loose skin because they are obese or used to be obese. So it's even worse because the man isn't changing his face to look more handsome he's removing his meat apron from when he was 300+ pounds or removing fat itself instead of losing weight normally. I can relate alot about how she must have felt, this year i got accused of something very bizarre anf insane by this new neighbor that moved in front of my house, he hated me for my face and made fun of me and since he lived in front of me whatever he said people would believe him no matter what and to make matters worse he had lots of friend who were taxi drivers, these people upon seeing me while they were driving and carrying people inmediately pointed at me at tell their passengers all these fake rumors this guy said about me and right now im depressed knowing almost everyones considers me a crazy guy thanks to these rumors.

One day my friend came up to me and asked me some questions about a guy in my class (let’s call him A) which was weird but I just told her cos I thought it was basic info (his name, grade, fav hobbies) and stuff like that because earlier in the year we introduced those things about ourselves in the class. She looked at me weird and left but the next day I came to school with like the whole damn class giving me the bombastic side eye and I just walked to my seat. Then basically A (the guy my friend asked questions about) came up to me after class and was like “r u f**king stalking me?” And I was like ‘wtf’. Then he showed me some weird af text that was apparently from my ‘friend’ who texted the guy saying that I knew a lot of things about me AND THE WORST PART was that she texted to him saying “she prob knows where u live, she’s a stalker and prob trying to get in your pants” AND OMG I mentioned earlier that the guy was popular right? So the rumours spread and I got bullied abt it for the next three months 💀 then there were even more rumours after me saying “she looks fake, she prob got plastic surgery.” And stuff like that, I eventually switched schools but omg what kind of friend was that- 😭

In the video he showed what the actual meme looked like with the caption, and that was how memes looked like at least 5 years prior, when I was in middle school. The outdated "once you see it, you'll shit brix" format has always been far more amusing to me than the photo itself. I also remember being shocked and wondering if this was normal advertising in Asian countries. Thankfully I have grown and learned that no, its not normal and that specific company was just scummy, and that there are tons of scummy American companies that do similar things.

Taiwanese here. So I did some digging on the event. I goes to our government's online lawsuit result searcher and found this: Heidi did 'tried' to file a lawsuit. but it was against 'the person who posted the meme first on his social media'. Facebook to be precise. I couldn't find anything about that ad organiser even though multiple Taiwan's mainstream news did said that she was going to suit them. I used the word 'tried' it's because that lawsuit was never happened. The police investigater doesn't think there's enough evidence. so they rejected her request for lawsuit(or call appeal? idk non native English speaker myself) Later on Heidi and her lawyer did try to request a re-investigation to file lawsuit again. The local court end up rejecting her request again. Base on my understanding. The judge thinks that person who posted the meme doesn't have any intention of harming Heidi's reputation or career. He claimed himself "I find it funny so I post it. I had no further intention". Second...The judge think it's really hard to tell rather Heidi's job opportunities loses have any connection with the spreading meme post and rumours on the internet (Heidi herself didn't even notice the ongoing memes and rumors until her lawyer informed her. The police investigater take this as a proof of those memes wasn't really affecting her that much on her reputation since even herself was unnoticed)

This whole shit was fake?!?!?…I remember reading about this a few years ago…crazy how that shit essentially ruined her life…crazy…I hope she sued that agency into non existence.
I still vividly remember back when the the news interviewed her the top comments were about blaming her for her own dilemma. And even went as far as slamming BBC for interviewing her saying it's a "tear jerker monetized". People are just plain cruel.

This isn't some 50/50 split, 92 out of 100 plastic surgery patients are female. That means if you guessed female you would be right 92% of the time.
Nobody is going to say it was the man because you would be wrong 92% of the time.
Also 70% of the men who do get plastic surgery get it to remove fat or loose skin because they are obese or used to be obese.
So it's even worse because the man isn't changing his face to look more handsome he's removing his meat apron from when he was 300+ pounds or removing fat itself instead of losing weight normally.
Where-as most women get plastic surgery to change their face or look younger etc.

I can relate alot about how she must have felt, this year i got accused of something very bizarre anf insane by this new neighbor that moved in front of my house, he hated me for my face and made fun of me and since he lived in front of me whatever he said people would believe him no matter what and to make matters worse he had lots of friend who were taxi drivers, these people upon seeing me while they were driving and carrying people inmediately pointed at me at tell their passengers all these fake rumors this guy said about me and right now im depressed knowing almost everyones considers me a crazy guy thanks to these rumors.

I can relate too, I’m like the quietest in my grade so I’m usually observant to everyone around me. One day my friend came up to me and asked me some questions about a guy in my class (let’s call him A) which was weird but I just told her cos I thought it was basic info (his name, grade, fav hobbies) and stuff like that because earlier in the year we introduced those things about ourselves in the class. She looked at me weird and left but the next day I came to school with like the whole damn class giving me the bombastic side eye and I just walked to my seat. Then basically A (the guy my friend asked questions about) came up to me after class and was like “r u f**king stalking me?” And I was like ‘wtf’. Then he showed me some weird af text that was apparently from my ‘friend’ who texted the guy saying that I knew a lot of things about me AND THE WORST PART was that she texted to him saying “she prob knows where u live, she’s a stalker and prob trying to get in your pants” AND OMG I mentioned earlier that the guy was popular right? So the rumours spread and I got bullied abt it for the next three months 💀 then there were even more rumours after me saying “she looks fake, she prob got plastic surgery.” And stuff like that, I eventually switched schools but omg what kind of friend was that- 😭

I remember seeing this right around when it "went viral," I was in high school. In the video he showed what the actual meme looked like with the caption, and that was how memes looked like at least 5 years prior, when I was in middle school. The outdated "once you see it, you'll shit brix" format has always been far more amusing to me than the photo itself. I also remember being shocked and wondering if this was normal advertising in Asian countries. Thankfully I have grown and learned that no, its not normal and that specific company was just scummy, and that there are tons of scummy American companies that do similar things.

Taiwanese here. So I did some digging on the event. I goes to our government's online lawsuit result searcher and found this:
Heidi did 'tried' to file a lawsuit. but it was against 'the person who posted the meme first on his social media'. Facebook to be precise. I couldn't find anything about that ad organiser even though multiple Taiwan's mainstream news did said that she was going to suit them.
I used the word 'tried' it's because that lawsuit was never happened. The police investigater doesn't think there's enough evidence. so they rejected her request for lawsuit(or call appeal? idk non native English speaker myself)
Later on Heidi and her lawyer did try to request a re-investigation to file lawsuit again. The local court end up rejecting her request again.
Base on my understanding. The judge thinks that person who posted the meme doesn't have any intention of harming Heidi's reputation or career. He claimed himself "I find it funny so I post it. I had no further intention". Second...The judge think it's really hard to tell rather Heidi's job opportunities loses have any connection with the spreading meme post and rumours on the internet (Heidi herself didn't even notice the ongoing memes and rumors until her lawyer informed her. The police investigater take this as a proof of those memes wasn't really affecting her that much on her reputation since even herself was unnoticed)
