LeClair played 16 seasons in the NHL after being selected by the Montreal Canadiens in the Second Round (33rd Overall) in the 1987 NHL Entry Draft. The American-born winger spent the first five seasons of his career as a member of the Canadiens, winning the Stanley Cup with the team in 1993, before being traded to Philadelphia at the halfway point of the 1994-95 season.
The St. Alban's, Vt. native's career took off when he arrived in Philadelphia. He joined what became one of the top lines in NHL history nicknamed "The Legion of Doom," alongside Hockey Hall of Famer Eric Lindros and Mikael Renberg. In his first five full seasons with the team, LeClair earned five straight NHL All-Star Team selections after putting up 235 goals, 213 assists and 448 points in that time frame.
