I am all for quick and easy. That is why when our tomatoes start getting I will use my seal-a-meal and put my whole tomatoes in a bag and seal them. Bags seal air-tight when I want to make stews, chili, etc; in the winter, open a bag and use it. Easy as can be. I quit canning years ago
I have the same colander! I received it for my wedding shower and we’ve been married almost 52 years. Tupperware circa 1970. I’ve had others but only seem to use this green one! Can’t wait to try this recipe!
Love this. We have made this for years now. I also add some chilie powder to my recipe. If I’m feeling real spunky I add some diced bell pepper and onion. Never have added the lime juice but I can see it would be a great addition. My family all love this. I serve it like you do.

I use frozen boneless skinless chicken breasts in my Crock-Pot all the time. I have for years and have never had an issue. I wouldn't put a frozen roast or anything large like that, but the chicken works great.

I've been making this for years. I actually add 2 cups of broth and1 cup heavy cream. It makes a wonderful soup! We top it with tortilla chips

I have a similar recipe, but its a half block cream cheese, melted in at the very end. The ingredients are so hot that it melts right away.

You could- you would not need to cook it for that long. It would just need to simmer for a short time to let the flavors meld together.
