Cell Phone Service: We forgot to review the cell service in this park. If you've been to this park please let us know your experience with cell service.
The trailer fill and dump station are all new and great. Big beautiful new park office as well. Also have added a lot of gravel so the roads arent as bad now.
Ontario parks really need to change how people book and hoard sites. Here we are in September and we cannot get a weekday site anywhere in the se area, yet you drive around the parks and there's Ll kinds of empty sites
Thanks for the insights of Oaster. I always wondered what it was like, having go by it on old 69 before the 400 was extended. We just got back from a week at Killbear. I forgot just how beautiful that park is. Haven’t been able to get into it for 15 years. Next year Arrowhead is on the on the agenda, so looking forward for that review. Travel safe
That's great that you finally got into Killbear after 15 years. It's a beautiful park. Arrowhead isn't too bad either. That video is coming up soon but I'm not sure exactly when yet. I haven't started putting it together yet because we're too busy camping 😄
Thank you for your review. It’s another PP I pass on my way to visit family near Toronto. I’m now watching the reviews with my mother, who camps with me often. She enjoyed it as well. She loves how part of the camp sites where private, however, will not go when it rains due to the multiple puddles!!! She informed me not to book if it’s raining!!!! 😅. I will be adding it hopeful next year. Take care. Keep calm & camp on!!!!
That's great that you're spreading the news about our videos. I guess you'll have to look at the Farmers Almanac for the weather for five months in the future when making your reservations😄. Happy camping!
I arrived the day after you left. Visited Cranberry Winery, Bala Falls, and Bobby Orr Hall of Fame while there. The old camp store in the 400's camping area is closing this year I was told. Enjoyed my time there.
Arrowhead is my favorite park, with lots of private sites, you feel like you are alone in the woods. I really liked how you talked about the camp sites , highway and trains.
Man, I can't imagine doing a 5-park trip like that. The thought of setting up and taking down so often makes me want to cry! I tent camp, though. I'm sure trailers are a game changer! 🤣 Thanks for another great review! Makes me even more excited about my camping trip next weekend. Can't wait to watch the sunset from my site at Driftwood.
@domiqueroy1495 I understand what you mean. I used to tent and now I have a small travel trailer (13’). It’s a different type of work for sure!!! I prefer to stay more than longer to really get to know the park.
@@CampingwiththeColes Thanks! We'll take some ear plugs for the trains. We camped a couple of years ago at Craigleith at a powered site 30 feet from Highway 26 and we survived!
Thought I recognized your board games from past videos also. We have visited the store often and have bought travel size games and full size games like yours. Very friendly and cool to see the shop. I’m starting to guess your ratings as your views seem to be very close to what me and my husband look for when camping. Thanks for your hard work and all the funnies also❤
I guessed 7 🤠 We went to Arrowhead in July for the first time for 5 nights, it’s a big park with lots to do, can’t wait for that review, I’m guessing 8.5. We trying to book Rockwood over Thanksgiving weekend and no spots available 😪we’ll keep looking.
Thanks for another great park review. I think you were generous with your rating. I was recently there for my first time. It had rained and did rain during our stay. The roads and drainage are terrible as you pointed out. Took days for the puddles to dry up. I too had a site in the riverside area which is the best in this park. There is a rail trail across the road that takes you to Rose Point. A great nature trail as we seen many turtles and a deer. However I'm less inclined to have a return visit to this park.
If you had the choice between Six mile lake, Oastler lake and Killbear park which one would you chose? Tent camping, two adults only for a few days. Thank you!
Killbear is beautiful 😍 great hikes and beautiful beaches. It’s a bigger park as well with a great visitor centre. Six mile is a small park and small beach.
Just came back from Mikisew and loved it. I am not sure about this park. When you rode by the waterfront sites I thought it was group camping. Can't wait for your Arrowhead review.
That was a close one! In the original edit I cut it before your rig showed up. On the second edit I realized your rig was there and I wanted you to see it so I moved the footage up include it.
We were there in July. We can see there is more standing water than when we were there. We had no idea there was a camp store! We missed the trail for sure!
That camp store is very strange. It's completely hidden with no signs. It looks like some one lives in it because the lady was reading on the side porch as we approached then she went in the store to help us. We couldn't go in though, we just had to say what we wanted at the door and she'd get it for us. Very strange...
Wow! That's before we were born. I'm sure it's changed a lot from when you were going there. Grundy is one of our favorites. We still like to explore the provincial parks over the private ones.
Arrowhead is still one of our favorites! Oastler is great for kayaking but not not so great for anything else. If you want trains, try windy lake PP. it sounds like it’s going to come right thru your campsite! 😂🤣
Hi great videos! My wife and I are looking to get into camping this year to exposue our 4 year old to some great outdoor adventures. Are there any provincial parks you would recommend that have small cabins for rent or potentially any waterfront tent camping? Thanks!
I'm not sure what part of the province you're interested in going. A four year old will have fun anywhere there is some sand and water. Driftwood Provincial Park has some great waterfront sites along the Ottawa River. It's basically a beach at the edge of each site. You can check out our review of it ruclips.net/video/gqRcodz-d5U/видео.html. As far as cabins at the parks, many parks have cabins and/or Yurts. If you go to the Ontario Parks reservation website reservations.ontarioparks.ca/ you can click on roofed accommodation and it will show you all the provincial parks that offer cabins or Yurts. Happy camping!
I will be camping here for the first time this year! Question, what is cell phone reception like at this park. You usually mention it in your video's but I didn't see it in this one or a missed it.
I just had another look at the video and saw that we forgot to mention the cell service. I then went back into the raw footage to see if I recorded it and just forgot to put it in the finished video but it turns out I didn't. I guess we completely forgot about cell service for this park. Sorry about that. Unfortunately, neither of us have any specific recollection about it.
@@CampingwiththeColes not a problem. Thank you for checking. Enjoy the 2024 camping season. Looking forward to a whole new season of camping videos. I have used your videos on many occasions to research my next place to camp. Thanks for all the hard work you put into them!
We visited this park in 2020 before we had our camper, our tent would have touched both sides of the site right against the neighbour tents. We didnt even unpack and found a site a killbear instead. Looks much better with a trailer.
We get ya! Some of the tenting sites are so close together you can't tell where one site ends and the next begins. One area looked like group camping but it was all individual sites.
We were playing Dice Poker. We bought it online from Michaud Toys. They're a family run company in Jarvis Ontario. We aren't affiliated with them in any way, we just love their games. Here is the link www.michaudtoys.org

Great video. Been going to Oastler for 25 yrs. Cell service and data work perfect no problems! Love this place!
Confirming for Rogers/Fido specifically that the cell service and mobile data are good throughout this park.
Was there this long weekend for the first time and Virgin and Bell worked fine
"I am going to give them a skunk! Wait-no! I mean a flower" --thank you for the laughs as always Cheryl. :)
I'm starting to keep some of her flubs in the main video rather than just for bloopers, because that's the real Cheryl. That's why we love her.🤗

@@pfinch5245 thanks for the update
Something you MUST do when near there is the trestle brewery in parry sound. Great food, beer, gardens, and atmosphere
Thanks for the tip!
we did the cranberry tour last week. it was ok to do.

I agree… you were generous considering the lack of privacy…. But a good one 😊
i would give the park a 5.
Welcome to parry ssoundwe are a rail town so no matter where you are you hear the train . And I guessed right for your rating
Good guess on the rating. The train isn't a big deal at all.
Watching Jax walk around the SUP, I'm wondering if he's dumped you both in when doing so?!?!
He hasn't dumped me in yet. I sometimes go to my knees when he gets real antsy and wanders around a lot. He's only 40 lbs so it's not so bad.
Does the bike trail loop the park?
There is only cycling on the park roads in the park. There is the Seguin Recreational Trail which is 5km outside of the park that you can cycle on.

Couldn’t sleep through the trains !
Lucky for us that we didn't even notice them through the night. I'm sure it's different for people in tents though.
are there bears here?
We didn't see any but it is an area of the province that black bears are known to be.
