Angela called her life in Lobotomy Corp a stage play, therefore even when she breaks free from the script, her library also functions like a stage play because that is all she ever knew.
Agreed ! It help to ilustrate how the characters are feeling, i personally put it on 40% and make them background noise as i read. If youre worried about everyone talking, i think it is no problem to read it after the voices end foreman, after all we are here for you, your reactions, etc^-^) You can only have first expirience once after all, better expirience it to the fullest ! +1 vote for turning on voice acting. +100000000 votes for going back to the Malkuth cutscene and listening to Roland coaching Malkuth's breathing to calm her down I am excited to see this series play out.
Foreman, my guy. The voice acting is absolutely amazing. It's a must have. During the fights and other parts you can talk. But the experience is made by the voice acting.
Few tips: Read effects on enemy pages as that will become important later on. Clear bookshelfs of Equipement Pages you are no longer using to unslot their pages so they aren't wasting away in there. Pay a bit more attention to Speed and the type of Dice on enemy pages. Although it's not so important rn
It’s time to begin, the stage is set, the lights are ready, let us put on a show. Also, heavily recommend examining what your opponents are going to do by hovering over their speed dice. Some of those attacks have nasty effects.
Voice acting is the best part of the story presentation. If I was to choose to let someone expirience the story without hearing their voices or without seeing their sprites, I'll choose the second one (althorough, the visuals are super good alswell). You can't really have the full experience without it. Especially so in the endgame.
I've been playing the game during the early access, and when the update fridays happened, new episodes were without the voices. Later, when I was replaying it, I was stunned at how good the voices were.
Hey Foreman! Most of the reason why you're struggling in fights is because you don't check what the enemy is going to use against you during the turn. Make sure you select the best page to deal with their page. Also keep their passives in mind, since the only reason you died to Bloodbath for example was because you were clashing with it during the turn it uses a 3 stage defensive page and his passive improves those rolls by 4, so the play was to literally not attack during that turn.
Also, recommendations about fights: Resistance is the last thing to pay attention to, what really important is to see which card opponent is going to use and how you can reflect it - 2x damage doesn't matter if you can't land a hit. + If opponent is planning to only defend or doge it may be a good idea to either skip a turn to regen light or cards or to attack someone else. And please, for your own sake, ALWAYS read opponents passives. Right now they might be insignificant, but later it will literally be impossible to win without it. And also turn off the quick mode while you learning.
For combats dices (game doesn't really explain them well, and guides may contain spoilers): If there is a clash, each dice on a page will clash against corresponding dice on opponents page (first will clash with first, second with second and so on). Attack dice: if higher (5 against 2) you will deal damage multiplied by resistance (5 health and stagger damage to opponent with normal resistance) and destroy opponents attack dice (0 damage to you). If numbers are equal (5 against 5) both dices are destroyed (0 dmg to you and opponent). Defence dice: if you win against attack dice (6 against 4) you will not take damage and deal unused amount of defence from this dice (2) as stagger damage ( that's why you don't want to attack strictly defence pages). If defence have no dices to clash, then it will be RETAINED (won't deal damage, but now in that turn if someone else attack this guy he will use this defence dice as separate card (AKA, i have card with slash 3-6 and defence 2-4, it clashes with opponent card with 1-9 defence. I rolled 4 slash damage, opponent rolls 9 defence. I take 5 stagger damage. Opponent takes none. Next dice. He has no other dice so i keep 2-4 defense. I get one sided attacked by someone with lower speed then me and my last opponent, so his attack calculates later. He uses card with 1-2 attack. Instead of just hitting me he clashes with my retained dice (2-4). I roll 3, he rolled 1, I deal him 2 stagger damage.
Doge is riskier but coller. First of, even if defence fails (2 def against 5 dmg) it still lowers damage by rolled amount (i take only 3 dmg). If you fail with doge dice you just gonna take full damage. If defence or doge equal to opponent's dice they just mitigate each other. BUT, if doge roll higher than enemy then: you regen stagger (5 against 2, you regen 3), fully mitigate damage and, if opponents dice is attack (and only attack), you will use this dice against next dice in the que. Example: i have 1-9 doge dice page, enemy has 1-2 slash, 1-3 blunt, 1-3 defence and 1-2 pierce. I roll 6 doge, enemy roll 1 slash, we both don't take damage, i regen 5 stagger and keep my doge. Next dice. He rolls 2, i roll my 1-9 doge again and get 3. I regen 1 stagger and retain dice. Next dice. He rolls 3 defence. I roll 9 doge, regen 6 stagger and loose my dice. Next dice. He rolls 1 pierce. I take 1 health and stagger damage. Clash ends. To see clashes this way and quicker understand battle sistem i once again recommend you to turn off quick mode.
1:42:34 “Repetition of work. I wonder where I’ve seen such a nightmarish thing before. Roland, random question: Do you enjoy birds, specifically ones from a dark forest?”
12:38 so fun fact there was indeed a tutorial at that point but they removed it and put the tutorial at gameplay. It was a PM classic info dump tutorial like it was in LC.
I would recommend turning off Quick Battle. Despite what the tutorial said, it's on by default (tutorial was made before the patch that turned it on by default). This helped me a lot in figuring out how the clashes work since you get time to look at each combat die, what they roll, and the results that occur after said rolls. Also you should turn on the marker highlights by pressing 1, 2 and 3 on your keyboard (the numbers above your QWERTY). It's not very important now but is EXTREMELY helpful as you progress further in the game for determining who's attacking who, who's intercepting who, and assigning defense for Mass Attacks (AoEs). The game gets extremely hard very quickly and more mechanics are introduced that add more and more layers of depth. So it's important to master even the basic ones now, since otherwise you will be drowning in mechanics later.
For help playing the game: Pro-tip: If you use a block or evade dice on an enemy evade dice, the evade dice will never be re-used even if they roll higher. This is a good way to stop enemies from dodging all your attacks and gaining all of their stagger back. Keep in mind that this also applies to you. Learning-tip: Turn on slow mode with the button in the top left to better analyze the battle. This is useful for learning the mechanics of the game and witnessing the 'hits that matter'. Reminder: If an enemy is targeting a nugget you don't want getting hit, an ally with a higher number on their speed dice then the opponent can redirect the attack to them if you attack the slower enemy. (P.S. This is a controversial opinion, but I do like it when you voice characters yourself. Even then, you may want to turn voice acting on at some bits. Scene 4 had some good voice lines, so if you were going to turn voice acting on at any time, turn it on then.)
Others have mentioned what I wanted to (please look at the opponent's cards by hovering over their dice!!!) but here's a fun fact about the Snap, according to the artbook: It's actually a combination of a fingersnap and clapping hands!
1:42:53 "I wonder what it's like to play this game if you haven't played Lobotomy Corporation" As someone who has done exactly this I can tell you that it was Still Amazing, Didn't ruin the experience one bit plus it kinda felt like you were in Roland's Shoes Learning everything about Angela and the others for the first time.
I don't know if it's the same wherever you're from, but I cracked up when you said you'd "put you in the book and throw the book at your nan" because where I'm from 'throw the book at [someone]' is an expression that means to press criminal charges. Which is really funny because it's such a whiplash from the existential threat of getting booked to the legal threat of my grandma being charged with crimes she didn't commit. It's like "I'm gonna burn your house down with your whole family inside! And I'll kick your dog!"
Ahh, that 'New Ruina Player' feel where you can't help but scream at your screen about what super-useful UI features the content-creator has completely overlooked in the rush of a billion other elements getting introduced. I have no idea if explaining the GUI count as spoilers or not given what Foreman has said about solving games mechanics being enjoyable to him, so I'll err on the side of staying quiet. I'll also throw in the billionth vote for VA on; the emotion in the acting is incredible and given how wordy Ruina is you're probably going to put a lot of strain on your voice. Especially if you intend to read all the credenza pages.
A new beginning! A few things you might've missed: - When you hover over an enemy's die, you can actually see what page they're playing. This is important in some of the future battles, especially abnormality fights. - Toggling on all the targeting displays that will appear on the top right corner will let you automatically see enemy targets without needing to hover over librarians. - You get extra books from having high emotion levels, so it's usually better to take clashes than finish off single opponents to maximize your enemies' emotion levels and get more books. Hope you have fun with the game!
YES Whattt no voice acting? I'll see how it works out but so sad +okay it is fine but I would love to see your reactions to some of the voices hm hope it works out somehow! Still thanks for awesome vid ++by pressing 1,2,3 it shows different arrows of who directed their attack to who. I recommend just pressing 2 when you first open the game because it shows clashes! +++I remember feeling very overwhelmed when I first started this game cause of all the systems, but you'll get used to it ! ++++Don't forget to empty key pages! Sometime you forget and run out of combat pages Fun fact HamHamPangPang is an actual Project Moon themed restaurant in Korea that this company made lol
Just hearing 4man gush about the game, ahh it truly does remind me of when I also just started playing LoR. You're in for a good ride 4man. Enjoy the game!
Great, man now i'm just thinking about the steam review saying: "The difficulty spike is VERTICAL" and hope Foreman gets up that climb easy enough once it starts
"I guess people weren't joking when they said it was a vertical difficulty incline" SAID THE GUY WHEN HE WAS LOSING TO SCORCHED GIRL !!!!!! Start playing with Quick mode off and observe.
WOOOO! THATS THE MOMENT WE'VE BEEN WAITING FOR!!! Oh you will have a BLAST here~ ..oh, no voice acting? Oh well. You do you. ...now I wonder, how many people will our dear Foreman misgender. Weird ass fact, iirc Finn was used as a training dummy in fights. Yes indeed, that is a remix of first trumpet.)
Excited to see the next episodes. Though, I highly recommend atleast hearing the voices of the characters for the first few times. Its completely understandable though if you choose not to opt for the voices.
5:18 There is a long hair Angela mod in workshop. In 2017 fanmade lob corp video with Mili song "world.execute(me)" was uploaded on youtube. In 2020 fanmade library of ruina opening with Myth & Roid song "Shadowgraph" was uploaded on youtube (сontains spoilers for Sefirot look in new art style, although they are partially shown in the official opening). Guess which two bands made a song for the next PM game.
It’s finally here! Some things to make your life easier (in case you want them, no spoilers ofc): - In battles when choosing pages there are three colored buttons in the top right corner of the screen, I suggest playing around with those - You can make battle symbols (like the helmet you got) invisible like you could with ego gifts in lob corp - When emotion increases, light (energy) is refilled for that nugget (tutorial does not mention this for some reason) Sorry for the backseaty comment, these are just some things I wish I knew earlier in my own playthrough. Looking forward to this series and what terrible fanart I might whip up
In regards to Voice acting, Some players read out loud after the voice ends speaking and it hasnt caused any issue. Because you have to click between dialogues to advance, you wont be overwhelmed. Anyway, Wooooooo! Lets goooo! Anyways, Here's Nik's tips: Besides looking at the resistances, you can see what the enemy is going to pull on you if you hover over their dice. I know you are overwhelmed by so much info dump, so take it easy~
Awesome that you're finally playing this game! However I would highly recommend turning on voice acting, It helps immerse you with the story and really shows all of the unique character personalities.
Yeah, Angela’s, “Oh yeah they had a choice. They knew they could die and they did it anyway,” is pretty BS. She’s exploiting the desperate a lot of the time. Reminds me of a quote from the pre-order trailer for Stellaris: Federations. “When the choice is to sign or to starve, there is no choice.”
I just bought this game today, and decided to take a look at a play through to get an idea of what I’m getting into. Going to watch your Lobotomy Corp. play through, while I play Library of Ruina. Thank you for your video.
You know, I wasn't expecting Angela to swear either, but after LobCorp? Fair, let the woman swear all she wants, she's earned that much at the very least lmao
Yeah, it's such a wonderful game! Can't wait to see your reactions to different stuff, as well as your thoughts (I really appreciate it when let's players give their feedback on what's going on in the game). And please, reconsider your decision on the voice acting, it's very-very good.
speaking as a guy who played the game 2 times once with voice acting and the other without. Please turn it on it amazing they did such a good job with it.
The first episode torned out to much longer than expected, and i like it (since soon dialogues and receptions are going to last way longer) Also i am looking forward for my nugget to be selected by the wheel (althrough the chances are miniscule) I'd also reccomend you to not search up game music because it has spoilers for upcoming bosses!!!!
Hoorah!!!! Foreman finally play LoR!!! Here some bit of tip : The Battle display is suprisingly usefull, becuase you can tell which _Guest_ is going to target who and which Libarian is clashing with. Try to read the passive very intimately, because some mid-game reception's passive are bullsit good or flatline insane Oh welp I'm going to self-RP here if you all fine with it 🙂 --- Entry 1: Looks like I woke in a Library of some sort... Everytime I think about I got some strange feeling about it, like a strange mixture of Nostalgia and Death. But to be honest, I never wanted to get another job that involved killing again like back in L Corp. But at least I can sort out books from those _Guest_ safely unlike back then where I must deliver thoes equipment while running from thoes abnos. Of all the above, overall I just wan't to get some slack. Reception's Log : "The Rats" : To irrelavant to talk about... "Yun's office" : Their fate was fated when I saw how Yun, the guy who is in charge of the office. Was treating his own fixers like a replaceable pawn. scratch that, that how *Most* offices operates! "Brotherhood of Iron" : I agree with Mr. Roland here, why replace your body with machines when you can have the alternative like Prostetic, Tattoo, Augmentations and etc. I mean I got my left eye replaced with a biologically augmented eye to enhance my sight for reason I won't tell you. ---
IT BEGINS!!! I am so beyond hype, I am hype incarnate, bird of hype, white hype, sephira of the hype department! Im sure you'll love every bit of the gamr foreman, now go manager its time to D-D-DUEL!
omggg i knew it was coming but not this soon :sob: why must i also be 19 hours late to this video TwT But real talk, majorly hyped for Foreman's reaction to my favorite scenes in this game. Glad to be here :)
I see tons of people have already recommended turning voices on. I'd like to add that in other LPs of Ruina I've seen there was still a "job" to do in the cutscenes. Hearing someone commenting on the conversations and possible implications (or something else like how gorgeous the art is) is honestly really fun.
IT'S HEREEEEEEEEEEEE! Such progress in the first episode already! Is it too much to hope every episode will be so long??😆 I saw you decided to keep voices. I got used to you reading really fast, and I like the pace, but I'd have still recommended to listen to the voices yourself after recordings. Or you can let the new characters speak a bit and then turn off the voices. Or you can leave the voices but keep them quiet, so you could voice over them immediately? Honestly, I'm okay with anything as long as I can hear what you're thinking about the story and everything. It also was nice to see you so hyped, it got me even more hyped😆 I like Roland and Angela's little banters! Argh, I just love everything about this game! About the music. I know it's lit but I wouldn't recommend listening to it on youtube right now (even if it's so good 😭) Gameplay-wise. It seems people scared you more than they should have 🤣I believe you'll get everything in no time, just take your time reading every. little. detail. 😂 Can't wait for the next episode already. And thank you very much for playing it!!
Not sure if you noticed but you can see what combat page/card the enemies are using, including abnormalities. So you plan accordingly. For example if someone is using a purely defensive page you just just ignore him and target the other guy. Or if they’re using a page that damages you heavily then you’d want to defend against it
While I'm not too strongly attached to voices, I will point out that there is something called "Project Moon Character Design" which actually tricked a few people even back in LobCorp. Which manifests itself in form of "is this character female or male?" being extremely not obvious even when it SEEMS obvious or maybe actually BEING obvious when it seems obvious. Back in LobCorp, many letsplayers on first encounter thought Yesod, Netzach and/or Hokma were female. Which is corrected quick enough, thankfully. But just a fair warning that looks can be decieving with these people's visual design. And this time around it goes both ways. Its not relevant to the plot in the slightest whatsoever, but it is funny when letsplayers go "Wait, its a SHE/HE?!"
This story's always fun to watch blind players go through. And letting the voice actors play should be fine since you have enough commentary yourself, and battles start taking much longer than the talking. Anyway, now i'll try to make sure you know everything important about combat mechanics since you had a few mislead assumptions. The main important part of fights is winning clashes, since those give you emotion points which are just generally good to have, and both deal damage to them an prevent damage to you. When a round starts opponents will use their speed dice to attack your speed dice. When you attack them back with the die they targeted or attack that speed dice with a higher number speed dice you instead put them in a clash. In a clash, the dice on the page are rolled(remember to check the numbers the dice can roll) and the higher one wins and inflicts it's effects. All dice are rolled in order from top to bottom. An offensive dice will either deal the number it rolled in damage if it wins or nothing if it loses. If a block die enters a clash against an offensive die, it will subtract the number it rolled from the number on the offensive die, and then deal any excess back to the opponent in bonus stagger damage. When a block die clashes against a defensive die, it does it's full value in stagger damage to the opponent if it wins, or nothing if it loses. For evasion dice, if it wins you regain the value it rolls in stagger resist and you get to re-use the die again, but if it loses it does nothing. An evasion dice versus an evasion dice just makes everyone look silly. Any defensive dice not used at all will be saved for the next one sided attack that character gets. If an evasion die(or a counter die, but that comes much later) gets used and is still usable after all clashes, it will NOT be kept for later. All saved dice are trashed at the end of the round. As a general rule, it's better to focus on winning more clashes and scoring better hits in any one sided attacks than it is to focus on weaknesses. Still keep them in mind, but if you dont win the clash you deal 0 damage and take all their damage.
Oh yeah, and look at abnormality passives a lot when you fight them. They're literally all that matters in those fights. Checking passives and the cards you are being attacked with is 90% of the game. And when an enemy is staggered they're equally weak to everything, so just pick the highest numbers.
Time for the new series! 🥳 I'm excited to see how all this plays out! I also like Nugget Foreman's death quote, lmao. And everyone gets the Missed Turn achievement at first, lmao. The description even says "you probably hit Space too many times, huh?" As a small tip, I think you're getting too caught up checking type advantages and not the enemy's cards - a good couple of times the enemy was Evading your moves. That's probably the best time to either save your Light by not playing cards, or play Dodge/Guard cards.
I didn't realize how deep into cyberpunk dystopia we truly were here, gut harvesting and completely replaceable body parts. I kinda thought the wings/lob corp were just vey far ahead of everyone cause that often happens in these kinda worlds. The idea of a trapped library is really cool. You being on the right side makes it like you're the dungeon enemies and the people the adventurers coming in to raid the dungeon, very cool ideas here already. I think it'd better to look at the attacks the enemies are doing and perfectly counter those since it tells you what they do in order, the resistances seem less good than actively creating clashes and blocking/dodging weaker attacks or using an even stronger attack to counter theirs.
You very much should play the game with voices, the cutscenes are nowhere near as immersive and the characters don't make you as invested without their voices. Trust us, it's worth your time, once you hear them you won't want to turn it off, hearing a characters mannerizations and tone *really* helps to make them more clear-cut in who they and what they're like. You genuinely don't need to worry about being the one of the read all the dialogue, don't sweat it, expressing your thoughts and opinions on what's going on is completely fine. We want you to enjoy this great gaming to the absolute fullest, and having voices on is an absolutely integral part of it.
Really enjoyed this start of the series, i'm glad that you are loving the extra dialogue from the abnormalities its something quite oversighted by many other lets play. Although i do share the idea that VA from the game is great, i can see how it would leave for long periods of silence as its just like watching a long cutscene. I'm okey with your preference for the playthrough, whichever you pick on keep doing. I'm really happy you seem to enjoy the gameplay aswell, i personally loved it while had a hard time with LobCorp. I also recommend to try to avoid deck building spoilers, unless you REALLY have a hard time, there are some extremely strong builds out there that can break the balance quite easily once discovered.
First off: I wanna say you're now the first person to ever post a LobCorp playthrough that I've actually watched in full. Second of all... I'm currently in the middle of this game, and have been for months due to the mentioned vertical difficulty curve (currently at hazard level 36, only started making progress again recently after a hiatus). A friend has told me you end up with some backseating issues throughout this series, so I might hold off on watching the rest for now... if only because I'm so stubborn I wanna find the good builds for myself despite being ATROCIOUS at deck-building. I've made it this far by stumbling in the dark completely alone, and I will stumble in the dark until I beat this thing even if it takes me another gosh-darn year!
Love to see someone with the desire to properly explore the games mechanics and figure things out for themself. I'd say that I hope you enjoy your time with the game but we both know you will!
@@ForemanPlaysStuff It's a hard, incredibly slow road, but I figure... if I were to read up on the meta, I can't un-know it, so I might as well put in the effort to figure out strats of my own before I ever begin seeing what other people did. ...and if all else fails, Boundary of Death will roll 4 again this time, I swear!
1:15:55 despite.... having 200+ hours in this game... i had no idea you could actually click on the 'remaining acts' menu. how do i not remember that being part of the tutorial??????????
I’ve compiled a list of tips to help you get the hang of information management, since this game is a little complicated and you seem to be struggling a little with this aspect of the game. 1. Make sure to check the pages your opponents are using at the start of the turn. It’s not that important now, but later on down the line, you’ll come across pages that can INSTANTLY KILL YOU if they connect, and you’ll want to know when that’s happening. -Also, Evade dice recycle when they win against an Offense dice, so try to avoid putting a bunch of weak dice against them if possible. 2. Make sure to click on your opponents and read their passives. Some of them can get really nasty. After you click on them, you can hover over the passive list and scroll down to see the full list if there are a lot. Abnormalities tend to have a lot of gimmicks that kill you if you don’t pay attention. 3. Underneath every character, there is a space where status effect symbols will pop up. Hover over these to read what they do. These are very important to keep track of, cause a lot of status effects tend to make you weaker. You struggled in the Bloodbath fight because it kept giving you paralysis, which made all your rolls garbage.
I should probably get some sleep, but this came into existence so nope, here I am about to lose some sleep for this. I wish you good luck in your promising career as our new librarian, I hope it goes as well as your time in lobotomy
While the reason for you to turn off voice acting is fair I recommended you turn it on because it not only good it also give the sentence a powerful impact I can't give example without spoiler but let's say some sentence that seem dull without sound give a completely different feeling with sound on but at the end I'm completely fine with not having voice on
I was on a car when it uploaded. Oof. Typing this before finishing the episode, looking forward to the show~ (Also the inevitable writing fuel. Hehehe.)
So a fun little story, you offhandedly asked how you figure playing this game is like when you haven't played Lobotomy Corporation. I can attest as someone who played Ruina first that it's a perfectly fine experience! The context isn't there in the start, but rather than make it a "oh my god I'm so confused" (as you can probably say from your own experience the game is confusing either way) it becomes "these people are cool, I wonder what their deal is." It helps that as you go on, the game gives more and more background as to the events of the last game while also allowing for more characterization of the outside world. Game good. Happy you're playing game.
You don't need to worry about not doing commentary with the voice acting on, you would be simping with the rest of us over how good the voice acting is.
Also appearance projection (the thing that lets you look like a different page but wear another) is good, but later on the rarer/stronger key pages will have special effects and animations while using their own combat pages, so I’d suggest not to use appearance projection if you’re wearing a very unique suit. Loving the series so far!
If you'd like to submit a nugget, you can do so through our Discord!: discord.gg/yG3bqx6xAm Also I won't be checking the comments much, I am terrified of spoilers ALSO: VA will be on in the next part
It is here. Gonna grab the butter, anyone want some? As for the voice acting..... I'm an avid supporter for trying it out. It might work out better than you'd expect.
Funfact hamham pangpang is an actual cafe you can irl in korea, if you wanna eat foods themed after the project moon characters, you can also gain some neat project moon merch and there a couple of limit timed events themed after lobotomy corp and library of runia, but they already come to past but i reccomended not checking out any pvs about the cafe on youtube due to it containing spoilers to later events of the game, currently right now there doing a theming based off the upcoming project moon game which is limbus company
Angela called her life in Lobotomy Corp a stage play, therefore even when she breaks free from the script, her library also functions like a stage play because that is all she ever knew.

Also, you must give us live reaction to hearing Malcute's breathing exercise. It can be watched in the credenza under patron librarians stories
And so, it begins...
Also, yes, the voice acting is incredible in this game.

Also, recommendations about fights:
Resistance is the last thing to pay attention to, what really important is to see which card opponent is going to use and how you can reflect it - 2x damage doesn't matter if you can't land a hit.
^ This, the bloodbath fight was harder than it had to be thanks to not reading the opponents cards and attacking with weak cards against blocks
For combats dices (game doesn't really explain them well, and guides may contain spoilers):
If there is a clash, each dice on a page will clash against corresponding dice on opponents page (first will clash with first, second with second and so on).
Once again, all this information is in the manual, but it's not very good at teaching
@@protoney8122 Whaaaattt? A project moon game having a bad tutorial? That's impossible
1:42:34
“Repetition of work.
I highly reccomend the voice acting... they are very much quality
For help playing the game:
Pro-tip: If you use a block or evade dice on an enemy evade dice, the evade dice will never be re-used even if they roll higher.
You have begun the library. I personally have not seen any videos of library, so a fresh experience for both of us. Cheers for what's ahead .
The first scorched girl attempt was amazing
"Come on malkuth!"
*Explodes*
Bro I just started watching your darkest dungeon play through, and like 5 mins in I got the notification for this. Hell yeah, Ruina time.
Others have mentioned what I wanted to (please look at the opponent's cards by hovering over their dice!!!) but here's a fun fact about the Snap, according to the artbook: It's actually a combination of a fingersnap and clapping hands!
1:42:53 "I wonder what it's like to play this game if you haven't played Lobotomy Corporation"
As someone who has done exactly this I can tell you that it was Still Amazing, Didn't ruin the experience one bit plus it kinda felt like you were in Roland's Shoes Learning everything about Angela and the others for the first time.
1:17:42
"Whoopsie-daisy" the best achivement I have ever heard of lmao
57:00 "Youre alone Roland you have no friends"
Yeah... that's awfully accurate...
Bloody hilarious 😂
A few things you might've missed:
- When you hover over an enemy's die, you can actually see what page they're playing.
YES
Whattt no voice acting? I'll see how it works out but so sad
+okay it is fine but I would love to see your reactions to some of the voices
hm hope it works out somehow!
Still thanks for awesome vid
++by pressing 1,2,3 it shows different arrows of who directed their attack to who. I recommend just pressing 2 when you first open the game because it shows clashes!
+++I remember feeling very overwhelmed when I first started this game cause of all the systems, but you'll get used to it !
++++Don't forget to empty key pages! Sometime you forget and run out of combat pages
Fun fact HamHamPangPang is an actual Project Moon themed restaurant in Korea that this company made lol
Just hearing 4man gush about the game, ahh it truly does remind me of when I also just started playing LoR. You're in for a good ride 4man. Enjoy the game!
Great, man now i'm just thinking about the steam review saying:
"The difficulty spike is VERTICAL" and hope Foreman gets up that climb easy enough once it starts
"I guess people weren't joking when they said it was a vertical difficulty incline"
SAID THE GUY WHEN HE WAS LOSING TO SCORCHED GIRL !!!!!!
Start playing with Quick mode off and observe.
He has no idea what's to come, does he?
WOOOO! THATS THE MOMENT WE'VE BEEN WAITING FOR!!!
Oh you will have a BLAST here~
..oh, no voice acting? Oh well. You do you.
...now I wonder, how many people will our dear Foreman misgender.
Some things to make your life easier (in case you want them, no spoilers ofc):
- In battles when choosing pages there are three colored buttons in the top right corner of the screen, I suggest playing around with those
- You can make battle symbols (like the helmet you got) invisible like you could with ego gifts in lob corp
- When emotion increases, light (energy) is refilled for that nugget (tutorial does not mention this for some reason)
Sorry for the backseaty comment, these are just some things I wish I knew earlier in my own playthrough. Looking forward to this series and what terrible fanart I might whip up
also, you can see the card the enemy is playing when hovering over their dice
In regards to Voice acting, Some players read out loud after the voice ends speaking and it hasnt caused any issue. Because you have to click between dialogues to advance, you wont be overwhelmed.
Anyway, Wooooooo! Lets goooo!
Anyways, Here's Nik's tips: Besides looking at the resistances, you can see what the enemy is going to pull on you if you hover over their dice. I know you are overwhelmed by so much info dump, so take it easy~
My eyes are buttered and my body is ready.
Awesome that you're finally playing this game! However I would highly recommend turning on voice acting, It helps immerse you with the story and really shows all of the unique character personalities.
LET'S GOO
Ur one of my favourite PM content creators now :D
Welcome to the library, Foreman! May you find your book in this place.
Yeah, Angela’s, “Oh yeah they had a choice. They knew they could die and they did it anyway,” is pretty BS. She’s exploiting the desperate a lot of the time. Reminds me of a quote from the pre-order trailer for Stellaris: Federations.
“When the choice is to sign or to starve, there is no choice.”
hit space instead of clicking at the top, just a tip. also VA is super important!
The first episode torned out to much longer than expected, and i like it (since soon dialogues and receptions are going to last way longer)
Also i am looking forward for my nugget to be selected by the wheel (althrough the chances are miniscule)
I'd also reccomend you to not search up game music because it has spoilers for upcoming bosses!!!!
Here we go! Great to see this and good luck!
"Aww!! I took too long then my Malkuth's gone!"
Why does it work so well???
Hoorah!!!! Foreman finally play LoR!!!
Here some bit of tip :
The Battle display is suprisingly usefull, becuase you can tell which _Guest_ is going to target who and which Libarian is clashing with.
Try to read the passive very intimately, because some mid-game reception's passive are bullsit good or flatline insane
Oh welp I'm going to self-RP here if you all fine with it 🙂
---
Entry 1:
Looks like I woke in a Library of some sort...
Reception's Log :
"The Rats" : To irrelavant to talk about...
---
when you hover over your opponents dice you can see what move theyre going to do, so you can play your cards accordingly
IT BEGINS!!!
I am so beyond hype, I am hype incarnate, bird of hype, white hype, sephira of the hype department!
Im sure you'll love every bit of the gamr foreman, now go manager its time to D-D-DUEL!
Fun fact project moon owns a real shop called hamhampangpang ^^
Butter your eyes everybody it’s gonna be a RIDE!
I would recommend turning VA on because you can read after finishing the lines
omggg i knew it was coming but not this soon :sob: why must i also be 19 hours late to this video TwT But real talk, majorly hyped for Foreman's reaction to my favorite scenes in this game.
Is it too much to hope every episode will be so long??😆
I saw you decided to keep voices. It also was nice to see you so hyped, it got me even more hyped😆
I like Roland and Angela's little banters! Argh, I just love everything about this game!
About the music. I know it's lit but I wouldn't recommend listening to it on youtube right now (even if it's so good 😭)
Gameplay-wise. It seems people scared you more than they should have 🤣I believe you'll get everything in no time, just take your time reading every. little. detail. 😂
Can't wait for the next episode already.
If the voice acting stays off I can't wait for a certain messenger to show up and confuse someone yet again
@@naransolongoboldbayer8030 Oh that one brings the best form of confusion.
@@naransolongoboldbayer8030 that's the kind of confusion that just rises as it goes on, along with something else rising as well.
Welcome to Library of Ruina
Where we ruin people's hope and dreams
As a middle of the road you could, turn on the voice acting when you meet a new librarian just to get their vibe. Then turn it back off.
I find it absolutely hilarious how Angela has basically taken "Learning about humanity" in exactly the way a machine would.
The description even says "you probably hit Space too many times, huh?"
As a small tip, I think you're getting too caught up checking type advantages and not the enemy's cards - a good couple of times the enemy was Evading your moves. That's probably the best time to either save your Light by not playing cards, or play Dodge/Guard cards.
Also the Click is free serotonin 🎵👌
I didn't realize how deep into cyberpunk dystopia we truly were here, gut harvesting and completely replaceable body parts. I kinda thought the wings/lob corp were just vey far ahead of everyone cause that often happens in these kinda worlds. The idea of a trapped library is really cool. You being on the right side makes it like you're the dungeon enemies and the people the adventurers coming in to raid the dungeon, very cool ideas here already. I think it'd better to look at the attacks the enemies are doing and perfectly counter those since it tells you what they do in order, the resistances seem less good than actively creating clashes and blocking/dodging weaker attacks or using an even stronger attack to counter theirs.
i think the stage/acting aesthetic connects to l corp and Angela going through the same 50 days over and over again and repeating the same scripts
Ah, yea, something we have been waiting for!
I see the card based sadness is starting pretty fast
The most anticipated playthrough is finally here!!!
Also sad no original voice acting, but foreman va is nice too :O
So it begins once again...
I am eager to see how this will go!
THE LIBRARY IS REAAALLLLL
YES!
This is going to hell of a ride, but im all here for it
I’ve compiled a list of tips to help you get the hang of information management, since this game is a little complicated and you seem to be struggling a little with this aspect of the game.
Aww, I love the voice acting!
I should probably get some sleep, but this came into existence so nope, here I am about to lose some sleep for this. I wish you good luck in your promising career as our new librarian, I hope it goes as well as your time in lobotomy
While the reason for you to turn off voice acting is fair I recommended you turn it on because it not only good it also give the sentence a powerful impact I can't give example without spoiler but let's say some sentence that seem dull without sound give a completely different feeling with sound on but at the end I'm completely fine with not having voice on
Always remember yto take a proper look at the numbers and abilities on combat pages especially what enemy combat pages are doing
Love the video. Personally I like the voice acting, but you do whatever you feel best.
1:25:19 Roland out here judging YOU for calling the poor girl Malcute
I was on a car when it uploaded. Oof.
Typing this before finishing the episode, looking forward to the show~
(Also the inevitable writing fuel. Hehehe.)
Can’t wait to see it!
Ye the voice acting is the best please include it.
If you'd like to submit a nugget, you can do so through our Discord!: discord.gg/yG3bqx6xAm
Also I won't be checking the comments much, I am terrified of spoilers
ALSO: VA will be on in the next part
Doesn't even read what cards enemies use, wins anyway
It is here. Gonna grab the butter, anyone want some?
As for the voice acting..... I'm an avid supporter for trying it out. It might work out better than you'd expect.
It 's funy how Ronald is kind to Malkuth
The amount of comments after only seven minutes scares me, and only furthered my conspiracy that every person who plays this game is in a cult.
One of us.
One of us!
