Short and effective - the effects, sets, models and (obviously) B&W feels very 60s but having moving shots, Dutch angles, and POV of the monitor Sav is watching makes it really feel like its own thing. The President's acting was definitely a high point for me
@@JoshSnares Everything about this film was so perfect and accurate, so seeing "Dr. Who WILLIAM HARTNELL" in the credits was the cherry on top. Perfect!
Ooh this is rather good! Very Film Noir. Acting, lighting, sets, direction, Dalek voices (and the shiniest classic Dalek casings!) plus all over atmosphere top notch. I also love that it's short and punchy. Excellent work!
Watched this with a nice brew and some snacks and i was thoughly entertained to the end, which came quicker than I knew. Nice work, and superb dalek voices.

Wow this just popped up on my recommended I'm really taken aback this was fantastic the acting was brilliant and the story was really tense I really want more of this It really reflected the tense atmosphere of a proper really good classic dalek story thank you well done !!
Wow, I can't believe that Josh Snares found the lost prequel to "Mission to the Unknown"! Very nice use of the New Series Dalek theme there at the end, and it's just masterful, the whole rest of it, I would need to make a video of my own just to touch on everything!
Might of the Daleks is legitimately creepy film. The acting, tone is great and production design is great. David Whittaker would have approved. 👍🏻 Josh Snares and the team understood the assignment. 😎 Amazing work! I can’t wait to see whatever comes up next! Please say there will be more!

A Josh Snares DW fanfilm in 2023?! This was awesome. Oozing with style. Felt like something right out of the 60s. Such attention to detail! Super cool. It looked like it was a lot of fun to make.
Stunning, everything about it oozes style and the utmost care and attention. Wonderfully atmospheric piece that totally stands up on its own merit. Thank you!
Josh! I'm not surprised at all that you had this in you. I love the black and white, 1960s Doctor Who style - you have such an encyclopedic knowledge of the styles and techniques they used, so this really feels authentic. The story is so true to the original series. Even though I only know you from RUclips, I'm proud of you and happy for you.
I love how this showcases the manipulative side of the Daleks. One of the best thing about them as villains is thay they are arguably more dangerous without a gun than with one.
Love love LOVE. The final piano rendition of The Dark and Endless Dalek Nights was perfection a lovely connection to modern who. The whole cast, crew and everyone should be proud of this!!!
This was beautifully done, so many little '60s touches but it felt properly professional. It captures that incredibly bleak feel of most of the Daleks' Master Plan. Very nice to see it was filmed here in Whadjuk Country too, I can't believe the Daleks have infiltrated even our isolated part of the world!!
I think that just about every compliment that I cc'd an think of has already been posted by others. I can at least say how much you deserve those comments. Relatively few props, actors / actresses, and a straight forward plot, all put together to great effect.
A wonderful homage to 60s Who. I’m sure any fan would be excited to find this as additional material on a future Hartnell box set. Thank you for making this - I hope it was an enjoyable experience for you and your team 🙂
This was great fun, Josh. And a neat little precursor to the Daleks Masterplan! Loved it. Very effective usage of sets on a budget and a spot on Time Destructor prop. This definitely had the feel of 60's Who.
"This fight is now no longer your concern. It is ours" This was incredible. Well done to all those involved, the might of the Daleks is truly powerful.

Fantastic work! The Daleks are very creepy and cast gave it their absolute all. Is it my imagine or was the music making callbacks to the Akinola Dalek Theme?

That has to be the best live action Doctor Who fan film I've seen to date... excellent... great acting, impressive model work and sets... and two very beautiful Daleks
You should be the one to take over as show runner when RTD steps down again. In just over 12 minutes and without an appearance by The Doctor, this has somehow managed to feel more like Doctor Who than anything RTD or Moffat ever produced. At the very least, RTD should be considering Barnabas Sharp as a new series composer as he's managed to combine the eeriness of classic Doctor Who music with the more bombastic style of Murray Gold, finding a happy medium between the 2 extremes. It was a little odd hearing the Dalek wheels trundling along but actually, I think it works as they obviously would have wheels and not just be floating (hence the reason they couldn't get up or down stairs for so long, have you tried taking a trolley up or down stairs? It's not impossible but not pleasant). Great work from all involved and I hope the same team can come together to do more, maybe with John as the Hartnell Doctor.
I'm never really one for fan films, but this intrigued me from the first trailer. Not many people do one in the style of the 60s era and you have captured that perfectly. From the little models to the Dalek wobbling about as it talks. If you're a fan of classic DW, this is truly something to behold. Well done Josh and the team!
Ok now my personal headcanon goes like this for season 3... Might of the Daleks, Galaxy Four, Mission to the Unknown, The Myth Makers and finally Masterplan. Really building up to the epic. in short, a fantastic short, really has the feel of a Hartnell era episode

Thank you! :)
@JoshSnares didn't even mention it but the shots! Whoo boy. That one of the dalek silently looking at Sav's body was perfection.
What a great prequel to the Dalek Master Plan. Loved the thematic similarities between this planet and early Skaro, great acting, social commentary and a really enjoyable short story. Well done, loved it!
Thank you!
This is one of the best doctor who fan films I've seen
That’s very kind, thank you!
The Dalek Cutaway we never thought we needed. Bravo!
Thank you!
Good story. Good acting. Good direction. Good daleks. Excellent job. Thank you for this. More please👍
Utterly incredible! I got chills hearing the hints of Dark and Endless Night in the score at the end! You really know how to do The Daleks justice!
Barnabas’ score is so good!! Thank you for watching :)
Glad you got chills! The theme deserved a place at the end :)
Love the 1960's typwriter on the desk.

love the work! it feels like a old school universal monster movie in places' love the practical effects and everything!
Oh for sure, it's definitely a love letter to black and white cinema of heaps of different eras. I just adore that stuff!
Fantastic job! Absolutely outstanding!
Thank you :)

Thank you :)
Utterly sublime. I was speechless by the end of it and completely forgot I was watching it on RUclips! This film truly captures the essence of 60s Who and the earlier Dalek stories while also feeling like its own thing with your own style prevalent throughout, excellent filmmaking complimented by fantastic acting, sound design, production design and I can't point out a single thing wrong with it. Inspirational stuff and you consistently manage to still go above and beyond with your work. Well done, you and all involved should be extremely proud!
Thank you for your kind words! 💕
