I like the idea of moving deangelo at next year's deadline. I would like to them to build around koneckny, gauthier, courturier, tippett and farabee, and stockpile picks while keeping those players. If they can avoid a total rebuild maybe they can gain some traction. Gotta get rid of Atkinson, sanheim, and some of these other bad deals. But they gotta hit on some picks to make it work. If they have to dump everyone this will be the longest rebuild ever. They aren't stocked with prospects and picks.

You for got the prospect Tyson Foerster. He looks to be a solid player prob not a star but a very good player. Chuck admitted he tried to go all in to make the playoffs in giroux last year on his deal and this put us back few years. Sean couturier was reported to be cleared medical to play but the flyers didnt want to play him with 1 or 2 games left. Which i agree with. The most trade able contract is hayes or provy. Hayes bc he might force his hand to Columbus to play with johnny hockey. And for provy they can prob trade him any team who needs a defenseman like the kings or Calgary or a buffalo for a good deal.
I personally think the goalie position is set, having Hart and Ersson as a 1-2 is pretty good. If hart has the right team in front of him he’s an elite goalie, hard to find goalies like that. Plus I don’t think his next contract is going to be that huge. Goaltending is huge in the league, keep both for now. The defence? It has to be tweaked. Keep York & Provorov. Pretty much have to keep Sanheim at this point. The rest I’m fine with leaving, obviously keep the prospects/young players in the ahl. The rest are expendable. The forwards? Keep Konecny, cates, Tippett, frost, farabee, Allison and maybe Laughton. Who knows what’s going to happen with Couturier & Atkinson… probably won’t be at the level they were playing before the injuries. I love Deslauriers for the rebuild, plus his cap isn’t bad at all. But if they were contending I wouldn’t want him on the ice. Obviously keep the prospects/young players in the ahl. The rest are expendable. This team just needs more high end talent, especially at forward but there’s definitely pieces to the puzzle here and the effort/willingness to win is here but the skill isn’t and I’m sure Danny B sees it.
@@jasonf1528 exactly. Plus Hart is only 24, he’ll be 26-29 or around there when flyers are done their “rebuild”. That would be considered a goaltenders prime. Would be absolutely retarded to trade him. Only trade him if he doesn’t want to re-sign but you’d have to get a MASSIVE haul for him.
@@vorpalblades I mean his junior numbers speak for themself. 2018/19 season and 2019/20 season. Especially during the 2019/20 playoffs, guy was lights out. Both years were above league average. @@yurk21 He has been at least top 15 (or close) in most categories for full time starters, people look at stats and forget to ignore the backups or guys who have started 15 or less.
I think if the Flyers are willing to retain 50% on Hates they'll find a taker. Either Columbus because of Gaudreau, or Colorado who could use an affordable center depth option
The way Brier worded his speech made it sound like a major retool rather than a rebuild. Said it won't be a fire sale next year as they have some good young pieces to build around. Sounds like Allvin but disguised a little more. Am I kinda right or just really wrong here
Trading for picks can be a good thing, but some of these players are immovable unless you're retaining salary/adding a sweetener. When the Flyers signed Fletcher my first thought was The Wild and how he signed Zach Parise and Ryan Sutter, he's like the government in the way that they think money will solve all problems. He has set them back for years.
They also have Tyson foerester too who looks solid as well, if they land a top 5 pick this year like a bedard fantili, smith or mitchkov and coots comes back healthy they could potentially have a Gauthier, coots and bedard/fantili/smith down the middle, the centers are phillys weak point especially since they have some really good defensive prospects like Andrae, zamula, attard, and Sampson with York already on the team. It could be a quicker rebuild if done right
Forget about Michkov, if Bedard and Fantelli are off the table then we want Leo Carlsson. Big skilled genuine 1st line centreman, a glaring need that will become desperate need if Coots remains injured or is traded
@@andrewbennett7610 i would prefer Smith or fantili over Carlson but his ppg in his league for his draft year are excellent, not sure if they could go wrong with any of those centers
I really like your idea about the Canes acquiring Hart. Koochie is great. I love Raanta. Freddy can be great........and then he isn't. I honestly am more comfortable with Raanta in net than Freddy
Too bad Nolan Patrick didnt pan out for them. Tough wasting such a high pick (and season that came with it). I hope they turn it around soon. Flyers have one of the best fan bases in the nhl..oh, and go leafs go
Nolan last full season b4 drafting was like 5 years b4 the draft....he was known as injury prone and that is why NEW JERSEY selected Hisler and r glad they did..Philly should have passed as everyone knew he would not play a full season so they got what they deserved
@@BayBye2011 At he time it was a 1A 1B draft and the Devils took the less injured of the two options. The flyers needed a center and took the other guy who was viewed as a superstar prospect. Makar would be great but they were never going to take him as they had just spent several high picks picking Provorov, Sanhiem and Sam Morin for all the good that did them. Of course they didn't know how badly those players wouldn't develop or how injured Patrick would become. In hindsight maybe they pick Petterson who is pretty good but clearly isn't the level that Patrick was projected to be.
Glad to see Fletcher go, but I think some of what he did was under management directives to turn the team into an immediate Cup contender, i.e., mission impossible. I don't like Sanheims contract, he's a pretty soft defender, but Fletcher may have made a huge trade for the franchise in getting Tippett for Giroux. (I admit I hated the trade at the time). Don't think they can trade Provorov, unless they get defense back, but would consider trading Hart if they could package Sanheim contract with him. They may have to take a chance on goalies within the system by trading Hart, arguably the one talent that might bring value back.
This team has been rebuilding since the beginning of 2012…any fans of this team would know that with the trades of Carter and Richards and our drafting in the time frame has been subpar…we haven’t been anything since that cup run
Carter Hart is really the only player that I'm not interested in trading away. If a good offer comes around, nobody is safe, but I wouldn't proactively try to move him.
Why should we rush to move him, when the likely result would be getting fleeced. Think it out. Can Erson be a starter ? Is there enough high value prospects picks ? Do we want a goalie prospect back if so who ? Hart has 2 years before there is any pressure to move him.
Torts is on a short list of coaches I would select if I was going to rebuild a team. You may not have the most talent, but you can work hard. If you cant play to win, play to be annoying....you might just win a few you should not.
I'm not saying Flyers management deserves it, because they don't, but the fans deserve a win. Bedard would be great. I'm going to be 47 and I've never climbed a poll downtown. I'm running out of time.
I’m going to agree with some others if you’re going rebuild commit to it fully and trade anyone of value for as many assets as possible. Youll be bad for years but you will get enough talent hopefully to actually compete for a cup unlike the Canucks who will never just commit and will always be a middling team that maybe makes the playoffs but is never a real threat for the cup.
I think NYR/NJD are better run at the top (non-GM) and had better GMs. With Briere, there's hope they can do something with the high pick. NYR said we're bailing, but didn't throw all their best players out. And here they are, your pre-season favorite for Eastern Conference Champ. With a serious threat from NJD who also had two lottery picks. It will break my heart if Laughton or Konecny go to better teams, but they deserve success. Digging out from the disastrous contracts Fletcher signed will take a long time. So short of them winning the lottery this year, plan needs to be to take 1st overall in 2024. Which will be impossible since Torts is putting a good structure on the ice. Competitive until it turns into a talent show, and then really really ugly.
I know I'm definitely gonna piss some people off by saying this, but if the Flyers were to be in a position to draft Bedard I would honestly rather see them shop that pick to whoever has the 2nd overall, get it with a good prospect included, and pick Fantilli. I can easily see Bedard in Philadelphia ending the same way Eichel in Buffalo did. Of course I'd love to be wrong about that.
Why do you want to trade frost? He is young(ish) and talented. His value will likely be higher if he can keep developing and stay healthy for multiple years.
@@phightinphil25 won’t fit. Already have coots and cates at those center spots. Frost might struggle to get mins in the future. Trade while his value is there
@@joeroganreal Coots has missed 2 seasons on the bounce and as much as I like Cates he is 3c for a contending team, Frost has more upside than him. Frost can also play on the wing so if you had to you could play him on the 2nd line as a winger. We shouldn't be nit picking our few talented pieces for fit at the start of a rebuild, after a few high picks then you start figuring out potential pairings and lines.
The only people I think need to be kept are Hart, TK, Tippett, and Torts. The whole rest of the team needs to be totally revamped. Thank God we're gonna get Bedard
I want to make a point about Joel Farabee. First he had a very serious neck injury and surgery before the season.2nd he has been playing very well the last about 2 weeks.
Sadly NHL rebuilds depend a lot on lottery luck. Getting a top 3 pick that leads to a franchise player will definently shorten the rebuild but bad lottery luck may ruin the rebuild.
Man, tell me about it. Flames have been pulling that "we're just a player or two away" bs for the last 30 years. Every time one of their GMs says that I just want to slap him silly and yell "Are you insane? What color is the sky in your world?"
It's ironic that you ended with the comparison that now has Bedard. I agree with just about everything you've said. I'm 50/50 with Hart. We have had serious bleeding in goal since the stupidity of letting Bob go and for quite some time before that. Streaky at best. Errson looks promising. Sandstrom needs duct tape on his stick hand. I think he dropped his stick every game. I'm still on the fence about torts. I've always had a love hate thing for him. He's got moxie. A little too much sometimes. I think some of the guys don't care for him much. I've seen that look from Alison, Hayes, tony d. As for Tony... south Philly spews out guys like him a little too much. The ego. He disappointed me the most..after provy..he can go. I understand his convictions but hate the disgrace and intolerance of what came out of it. I don't know if he'll get better so he should go before we find out. The Ellis trade. Pound for pound on duds. Until you look at cap space. I don't trust Atkinson being reliable. He could go any direction. Hopefully better. Our defense needs tweaking for sure. Laughts..I love his heart so thanks for nailing that one. I think they've been saving the C for couts. I'm okay with that, however laughts is a great runner up. I love TK and hope he sticks around. Tippet was definitely a good deal. I was bummed at first but he's the real deal. I'm glad to see jvr go. As for this year's draft, I just like just about every other hockey fan wanted Bedard..screw Chicago. But I just watched something about this kid Leonard and he looks very promising. The pool seems to get better each year. I don't think they're even humans anymore. Anyway, I'm finally done. Thanks for reading if you stuck around
Just wanted to say thanks for making this. Solidarity with other long suffering NHL fandoms

With salary caps the most important is the gm
Farabee had shoulder surgery over the summer, so he won't go anywhere until they see how he does fully healthy
That’s not necessarily true.. plus he’s played in every game so far. It would be different if he was out a bunch throughout the season.
I read somewhere that Carter Hart might be on his way out, but I think there is a good goalie there.
There is but I feel he's so broken a change of scenery would bring it out
I'm of the belief that they should trade Hart while he still has value.
@@Rockhound6165 they really should
I have to agree with all 3 previous comments. NOW is the time to trade Hart. Philly could get some sweet draft picks in return.
@@Tomatohater64 Yes, or they could staple him to an awful contract; yes you can have Hart but you have to take Ristolinen as well.
First time in years the goalie carousel has stopped
@@jasonf1528 exactly. Plus Hart is only 24, he’ll be 26-29 or around there when flyers are done their “rebuild”. That would be considered a goaltenders prime. Would be absolutely retarded to trade him. Only trade him if he doesn’t want to re-sign but you’d have to get a MASSIVE haul for him.
When has Hart shown anything close to being elite?
@@vorpalblades I mean his junior numbers speak for themself. 2018/19 season and 2019/20 season. Especially during the 2019/20 playoffs, guy was lights out. Both years were above league average. Since then he’s had 1 historically bad season (Covid year) and the past two seasons the team in front of him has been atrocious, not his fault. If you watch the games he’s been pretty good this year considering the team in front of him
@@yurk21 He has been at least top 15 (or close) in most categories for full time starters, people look at stats and forget to ignore the backups or guys who have started 15 or less.
Provorov for the Chaos Giraffe (Tyler Myers). Expires 1 year before Ivan and if they want to get tops picks, he'll help lose games for sure 😬😂
Lmao, Myers’s is so detestable
tippett is a piece you keep, guys been solid, doesnt cost a ton, plays his ass off, torts has found tippetts game
No Tyson Foerster?
can you do a similar video for st.louis
We're close yeah we'll I think the season ticket holder meeting said what all fans thought about the ex gm
I think if the Flyers are willing to retain 50% on Hates they'll find a taker. Either Columbus because of Gaudreau, or Colorado who could use an affordable center depth option
You're right. He's worth around 4-5M so getting him at 3.6M or so would definitely be worthwhile.
Frost?
The way Brier worded his speech made it sound like a major retool rather than a rebuild. Said it won't be a fire sale next year as they have some good young pieces to build around.
Sounds like Allvin but disguised a little more. Am I kinda right or just really wrong here
Trading for picks can be a good thing, but some of these players are immovable unless you're retaining salary/adding a sweetener. When the Flyers signed Fletcher my first thought was The Wild and how he signed Zach Parise and Ryan Sutter, he's like the government in the way that they think money will solve all problems. He has set them back for years.
If Hart had a serviceable defense in front of him, he’d already be a top 15 goalie. He’s the only reason why our GAA isn’t above 4.
Much agreed
great job thank you
I really like your idea about the Canes acquiring Hart. Koochie is great. I love Raanta. Freddy can be great........and then he isn't. I honestly am more comfortable with Raanta in net than Freddy
"Ellis, thats unlikely to play again..."
And thats the first time THG made me cry sad tears...
Too bad Nolan Patrick didnt pan out for them. Tough wasting such a high pick (and season that came with it). I hope they turn it around soon. Flyers have one of the best fan bases in the nhl..oh, and go leafs go
and then you look at who was picked right after him. feels bad man
Nolan last full season b4 drafting was like 5 years b4 the draft....he was known as injury prone and that is why NEW JERSEY selected Hisler and r glad they did..Philly should have passed as everyone knew he would not play a full season so they got what they deserved
@@BayBye2011 he wasn’t known as injury prone… y’all just making shit up at this point 😂🤣
@@Duzzy9513 well how come the last full season he had was 5 years b4 he was drafted..that is why New Jersey passed on him and took Hisler...
Will they keep JVR or he has no move clause?
It hasn't been that bad for 10 years... that's partly the problem. Never had a 1B to pair with Giroux
Voracek?
Atkinson should go back Columbus and play with Johnny. He even convinced Johnny to play there.
This team has been rebuilding since the beginning of 2012…any fans of this team would know that with the trades of Carter and Richards and our drafting in the time frame has been subpar…we haven’t been anything since that cup run
Stay: Carter Hart Go: Hayes-Provorov-Sanheim-JVR-Ellis-DeAngelo-Bellows-Deslauriers-Farabee-Frost-Couturier!
Carter Hart will be in Seattle. I guarentee it.
The goal nick seeler scored last night was filthy
Need to keep Seeler
@Zackery Jones Nick Seeler was accidentally using Connor McDavid’s stick!🏒😂
Bruh I was there and I was like wtf
Carter Hart is really the only player that I'm not interested in trading away. If a good offer comes around, nobody is safe, but I wouldn't proactively try to move him.
Why should we rush to move him, when the likely result would be getting fleeced. Think it out. Can Erson be a starter ? Is there enough high value prospects picks ? Do we want a goalie prospect back if so who ? Hart has 2 years before there is any pressure to move him.
Hart should stay, Flyers always get rid of young goalies. They need to keep him
As a huge hockey fan and flyers fan this makes total sense
Torts is on a short list of coaches I would select if I was going to rebuild a team. You may not have the most talent, but you can work hard. If you cant play to win, play to be annoying....you might just win a few you should not.
They need a complete rehaul owners players stadium logo team name everything
Team died when snider did
I'm not saying Flyers management deserves it, because they don't, but the fans deserve a win. Bedard would be great. I'm going to be 47 and I've never climbed a poll downtown. I'm running out of time.
Everyone can go
Fletcher: *Sails the Titanic into an Iceberg, then looks at Danny* "Here, you drive."
Keep Hart and Tippett. All others are expendable assets. Yes, even Konecny.
And like how we were for most of the every other year playoff streak.
Tyson Foerster 🤔
Tyson Forester is going to be top six forward
Keep: TK, Ersson, Cates, Tippett, York, Allison
Explore Trading: Frost, Hart
Get Rid Of If Possible: Hayes, TDA, Farabee, Provy, Sanny, Risto, Atkinson
You forgot Tyson forester as upcoming. Kid has a hell of a shot.
Hayes will be gone in my opinion. He wants out and he Needs gone.
They can't move ANY of those contracts.....it'll be a few BAD years in a row for the Flyers
They have horrible luck with some of their star players being injured. Couturier, Atkinson, and Ellis all good players with massive cap hits injured.
Couturier until 29-30 ouchhhhhh
Pivot! PIVOT!!
The Flyers have been tearing things down for years
Move everybody.
A lot of bad contracts on this team. A LOT.
The only people I think need to be kept are Hart, TK, Tippett, and Torts. The whole rest of the team needs to be totally revamped. Thank God we're gonna get Bedard
And some wonder why Fletcher got sacked with those contracts - and I even enjoyed Fletcher at the beginning. Dear Lord.
I want to make a point about Joel Farabee. First he had a very serious neck injury and surgery before the season.2nd he has been playing very well the last about 2 weeks.
Hart to Arizona
The first one who needs to go is the Kensington Meth Muppet Gritty... 🤣😂😅
Sadly NHL rebuilds depend a lot on lottery luck. Getting a top 3 pick that leads to a franchise player will definently shorten the rebuild but bad lottery luck may ruin the rebuild.
Didn’t help us with Patrick…always a crap shoot.
Those horrible contracts male me think that it's the full tear-down might be necessary.
Man, tell me about it. Flames have been pulling that "we're just a player or two away" bs for the last 30 years. Every time one of their GMs says that I just want to slap him silly and yell "Are you insane? What color is the sky in your world?"
Also I don’t see Ryan Ellis on this video…hasn’t played but still a roster player
I retract my statement…my eyes are obviously destroyed by watching too many flyer games
DeAngelo must be this gen most shopped player
I thought they already started....
PIVOT! PIVOT! PIVOT! 😂😂
Where's jvr's contact
