Both Last Dance and I Will Survive came out in 1978. According to Wikipedia, I Will Survive was written by a duo of writers who were kicked out of Motown.
I agree with @flor9389 that "I Will Survive" is more universal and a great song for allies. It's relatable for anyone who's been rejected. For the purpose of this exercise, I agree with Ladi on song placement. Also, the dancing and the disco ball were fun!
Yeah, after hearing Ladi's rationalization, I agreed with him! "Also, the dancing and the disco ball were fun!" Thank you! I'm glad you liked the video! I hope you've subbed and check out the rest of our Pride themed content. We've got some really fun videos coming up.
For me, it’s I Will Survive because it is apropos throughout the journey and can apply to close allies too. Like the parent of an LGBTQ child. Right now, our community is being targeted in so many places that I do feel a certain pride in just surviving.
I was actually surprised by the defiance in that song. I mean, I know the song, but I guess I'd never really paid that much attention to the narrative of it, but it's really defiant.
The moment Ladi mentioned it in the video, look at my face. My thought is "Goddammit!. Now I'm going to have to do an After Effects thing. That'll take forever!" 😂
I think that the Neutron Dance is very danceable, but I don't consider it disco music, because the term disco music became unpopular in the late 70's with the 'disco sucks' movement. Disco still existed, but we called it dance music.

I'm Coming Out" is a song recorded by American singer Diana Ross. It was written and produced by Chic members Bernard Edwards and Nile Rodgers.
@@ladislaoloera6095 thank you for the correction! I must’ve been blinded by the disco ball!
@@flor9389 It was a friend of Mark's that sent me the info. I too, was blinded by the disco ball!
Yeah, Ricky texted both Ladi and I after we published the video. I have no idea why he didn't just comment here. He's a damn weirdo sometimes.

An amazing ball for amazing folks!
(I should maybe re-think that comment).
I want one.
