These guys were tight, Especially considering most of them had families or other obligations and couldn’t practice that much. They made this happen though!
The punk movement wasn't just one fucking band. Otherwise it wouldn't be a movement. Fer chrissakes. You need more than one band. The Damned. Weirdos. Germs. D.O.A. Electric Eels. Cramps. Avengers. Screamers. Ramones. And yes.... drum roll.... The STOOGES.
@Atombombmother I do not know the history of punk in depth but I know a lot of bands that remained hidden for years, this is also the fault of the Sex Pistols, a band made at the table, and then tastes are not like me any better at this the ramones point! that kind of punk is dead now only works if it is fired by a thousand amps. tastes are excuses.
I know what the fucking sex pistols looked like and yea they did dress like that sid vicious with his leather pants and jacket with studs on it. There nice shiny motorcycle boots their clean cut spiked up hair. Paul Cook didn't dress like that and it all depended with steve I use to worship the sex pistols when I was 14. That's when I went off of the mass media for bands and shit than. I learned of the much better genuine american hardcore scene that's just my opinon everyone has their's
Actually i don't know one real punk that actually likes the sex pistols. They are a joke the term punk was used in the us to describe the cbgb scene two years before the sex pistols started and the fasion that you described that again was a brit thing or a poser thing. But a lot of this bullshit is hypocritical, especially when they criticize other punk bands with styles that aren't "hardcore". Sex Pistols are fucking amazing and a lot of their music seems reasonable. They set the standard, then bands like Black Flag came along and decided to beat people up who drink beer. I still like them, but what the fuck is this?
I like the format of this video... 2 in 1... it defies what is being done. All in one shot. Nice. MTV stopped breaking format years ago.... this is refreshing to see.... keep it up !
none of them cite the sex pistols as an influence The Ramones are pretty much the genisis for the Hardcore scene in the US and we had an anti fashion and the music was fast and aggresive Cromags, Bad Brains, DOA, Wasted Youth, SSD, the list goes on the punk scene in america in the 80's was so much better than the brit scene mostly because the industry kept their noses out and it was run by the kids get the book American Hardcore my buddy steve wrote it I grew up in Phily right at the prime of HC
