@@donallmccrudden4812. My husband and I were talking about the same thing. In 75 or so years, we will be forgotten. Live your best life for yourself. No one else cares but you. I have researched the dead in our families cemeteries and think…”Would they have ever thought I would speak their names in 2024?” I feel like I’m reaching across time to connect…
@IrishAnnie chances are your grand children(if your lucky enough to have them) will be the last generation of your family to meet ya, so they be the last people in your family to have a living memory of ya, they'd probably talk to their kids or grandkids about ya, it's kinda odd to think about, but interesting. I personally remember meeting my great grandmother a decent amount my mother's mother's mother, she was a lovely lady, but had a tough, poor life on a farm in Ireland, she lost 7 kids, 6 died by 11, the last died aged 22, he drowned, so my granny was the only remaining kid, she passed when I was 6, so I didn't appreciate it as much as much at the time, unfortunately, she would have had plenty of stories from back in the day, her grandparents lived through the famine in Ireland
That is such a remarkable cemetery! So many of the trees add to the general character, (with the roots encompassing the markers and all)..some seem so old they may have been planted soon after the cemetery was established. Could you tell us again what the difference is between vaults, crypts and mausoleums? Are there any others? Thank you for bringing us along to this intriguing, enchanting, poignant cemetery.
A mausoleum is above ground. A crypt is usually under a church but very similar to a vault that is underground. A mausoleum is normally much bigger and more decorative, too
I appreciate you and gv taking us along. I'm 65 and live in the US. These are sights I will never see in person. Belgium, France, Ireland would all be on my bucket list. Thank you so much 😊❤
Thank you Sue. The cemetary as old as it is is well maintained, loaded with history, beautiful monuments and statues. I see loads of squirrels every day, grey ones black ones and red ones constantly running around. I suppose they are there because it is safer for them.
This is the most oldest and cleanest cemetery I'd ever seen. Very organized 😮. But looking to those thombs made me feel wonder how this forgotten people live their life before. Wallahi, life is soo short😢thank you for this great video and thank you for touring us too. God bless❤
